  1. I don't have time to research it at the moment but from memory I think the home club is only obliged to give us 7.5% of the tickets but that might be in Europe it could be more here. In any event I am sure that Hearts will give us the minimum if they think they can sell the rest to their own fans. There's nothing we can do about that, I'm afraid. This has no bearing on the number of tickets we give Celtic for Ibrox which is conditioned by the police insistence that they are housed in the Broomloan Stand which holds 7,500.
  2. Didn't we win both the SPFL 2 (SFL3) and the SPFL 1, thus gaining automatic promotion both times?
  3. That's what the Trojans did though, immediately laid waste the city of Troy, so it wasn't a very good analogy now was it? Anyway, moving on - Can I ask you some questions: Do think that if and when Mr King invests money in Rangers (and by that I mean buys shares in the company) he would be doing so entirely because of his love of the Club or do you think he would want to get some kind of return on his investment at least part of which we are led to believe is his childrens' inheritance. Could you develop the argument "that it (Mr Ashely investing) would develop (or rather continue) into a slow burn destroying of Rangers as a competitive force at any reasonable level." If you had been Mr Ashley and been offered a deal to invest in the club in exchange for preferential voting rights over Rangers Retail and naming rights to the stadium for £1 would you have rejected that deal, saying sorry chum, that's way too generous? I haven't researched what Mr A has done at Newcastle so wouldn't like to comment on that since I'm sure in another two years you'll be casting up my opinion
  4. It wasn't meant as an entirely rhetorical question. You compared Mr Ashley to a Trojan horse, which the Greeks used to steal entry into Troy and then destroyed the city. Why would Mr Ashley want to destroy Rangers?
  5. I am sure we all applaud your efforts. Mr Ashley may not be a white knight by any of FS' definitions but neither do I see him as a Trojan horse, why would he want to buy the Club and then destroy it is beyond even my comprehension.
  6. I have indeed admitted, as have a great many others, that I was taken in by Mr Green up to the time "the tapes" were revealed but I did not perform any analysis on him or his bid for the Club nor was there any reason for me as an individual to do so nor would I have had the right or the documents to perform such due diligence. It seems to me that all you are doing here is according me a status that I did not have and do not have in order to continue your innuendo. I called Mr Whyte's background into question at the time his name was first mentioned and I also repeatedly questioned how he was financing the purchase of the Club and the ticketus deal in particular. The reason I mentioned the RST spokesperson was as an example of someone who said at the time on behalf of an important organisation that they had done their research and were satisfied as to Mr Whyte's credentials.
  7. I think we're getting a bit pedantic (sic) here but for what it's worth my understanding is that there are two kinds of white knights in this situation: one might make a "friendly" bid to prevent an unwelcome takeover from elsewhere; the other might simply be taking advantage of financial difficulties to buy a company that may well be worth a lot more with his assistance in the future. Either way the white knight is not being entirely altruistic. I'm happy to bow to your knowledge of these things but as I say that wasn't the issue.
  8. Lie down for a while, take a nap and don't worry about me so much; worry about the future of our Club.
  9. I don't recall saying he was doing it for anyone's benefit other than his own. The issue was not who might be better for the Club but rather who was most likely to buy the club and invest some money. IMHO right now that would appear to be Mr Ashley.
  10. I think I'll decline your kind offer. You've been down this road many times before and don't need any further assistance from me. Everyone on Gersnet and perhaps beyond is fully aware of your views, so I'm not sure why you feel the need to repeat them ad nauseam. It happens that I don't recall being particularly vocal about Mr Green but if you have references and events proved me wrong then so be it. I do recall being vocal about my concerns about Mr Whyte, whose conduct has just been described by Lord Tyre as "a combination of dishonesty, disregard for the interests of companies to which he owed duties and of the creditors of those companies, use of Crown debts to finance trade, misappropriation of company funds (at least in the case of Tixway) for private purposes, and wilful breach of a director's administrative duties, the effect of all of which is that the case can be regarded as quite out of the ordinary!" Do I get any credit for that? This would be the same Mr Whyte BTW who was described by the RST spokesperson at the time as "the real deal".
  11. Some one who comes along with a shed load of cash and makes our financial woes vanish in a trice.
  12. The price of a pie & Bovril is an important part of the match day experience as well but so is the quality of all aspects of the fare on offer. Perhaps if the meeting goes on long enough they might treat us to a meal deal but we'll need to be careful not to spill any on our new blazers.
  13. If you were betting on Ashley or King to be our white knight where would your money be?
  14. So no reason why he can't afford to buy a controlling stake in Rangers whenever he feels like and the shares are available and have plenty left over to finance a team that might do something in Europe thus giving the sales boost to make his investment worthwhile.
  15. I agree that we should learn from history especially where the recent financial affairs of our Club are concerned.
  16. The difference is he will get another £300k or more for leaving, deja vu one might say.
  17. Found the reference: Monday, 29 September 2014 15:30 A number of Light Blues players are in line to represent their respective countries in various matches around the world. It has been deemed enough individuals are expected to be selected for a postponement to be requested and that has been granted by the SPFL. Squads will be named over the next week or so and the identities of those being chosen to join up with their national sides will become clear in due course. I think the agenda for the first meeting on Monday night is going to be as long as Edmiston Drive (says he struggling for a metaphor) but I will raise it if I can because games getting moved for TV is one thing but games getting moved for no good reason at all is quite another. On the timing Rangers probably knew about the selections before the announcement (and would say they are giving as much notice as possible), since International managers would phone up the club manager to check on form and fitness etc; but regardless, the timing isn't the main issue here. I am quite clear that this is a legitimate issue, so if I don't get the chance to raise it at the meeting I will find another way. In addition I see no reason why the RFB shouldn't ask for the Team manager to appear at a meeting because surely the performance of the team contributes to the "match day experience" which is one of the objects of the RFB: To provide the Members with a voice and communication channel directly to the Club in respect of the direction of the Club including, but not limited to: (i) the matchday experience;
  18. Might be but I think it's easy to read too many conspiracy theories into this; it might just have been a straightforward investment decision. He may well have given his broker instructions to buy at 20p up to his 10% SFA limit in the short term.
