Rangers demand apology over Livi programme article
BrahimHemdani replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Thank you for that. There are indeed those who have suggested that it is not appropriate for an Elected Representative to use an internet forum or go on a radio chat show but I do not agree. This forum and another and the Rangers Chat show last week have provided a number of good points that I took to the meeting last night and I think it would be fair to say that as a result the meeting went on somewhat longer than many anticipated! In my opinion it is important for the ER's to communicate with fans in whatever way seems appropriate to them (and various proposals are being considered) but equally the fans have to understand that it will not always be possible to provide detail that is confidential to the Club. I will report on other matters as soon as I have time and as I said the Minutes will be issued within the prescribed period, quite possibly well ahead of the 14 day deadline but I am personally not in control of that. Lastly, I need to stress that I am speaking as one of the ER's and not on behalf of the RFB.- 69 replies

Rangers demand apology over Livi programme article

I was answering your question as best I could. It is not (my) "group" ; it is the duly elected Rangers Fans Board. I have told you exactly how people felt about the controversial content of the Livingston FC p;rogramme and that Rangers FC are taking appropriate action. The Minutes will be issued in accordance with the paragraph 19.3 of the Constitution which you can find on Rangers Web site.- 69 replies

Rangers demand apology over Livi programme article
BrahimHemdani replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I am sorry you are not satisfied with what I have reported. I said I would raise the issue and I did that even although it had already been dealt with by the Club. I wanted to make sure it was on record as an issue raised by the Fans Board. I am quite sure that you are well aware that if the RST or the RFB or any other body are told details in confidence then they must respect that confidence otherwise the line of communication will be short lived. The Minutes of the meeting will be published within 14 days and there are some issues that have been raised in the thread I started here that are not confidential and which I can report on in much greater depth. The RFB will also have FB and Twitter Accounts and its own section of the web site. I think you will find that there will be no shortage of information but you will need to be a little patient toill all these things are up and running. The meeting lasted 3.5 hrs and I came on here more or less as soon as I got in the door, now I'm off to bed. Thanks and good night.- 69 replies

Rangers demand apology over Livi programme article
BrahimHemdani replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I thought it was completely out of order and I raised the matter as I said I would but there was little or no discussion because there was general agreement and the Club have already taken action. The consensus appeared to be that the "apology" from the Livingston Chairman was unacceptable.- 69 replies

The Club were shocked at the comments in the Livingston programme on Saturday and as I said are dealing with it in an approriate manner. There is nothing further that I can add.- 69 replies

Watched the first half of the game on Sunday in company of about 20 Rangers fans who were outnumbered by around 5 to 1 by fans who appeared to be Dundee Utd supporters but were actually supporting Glasgow City. Not sure who was at home and who was the away team. I have to admit that both teams were trying to play passing football and there was a fair amount of skill and no little pace on display. Rangers took the lead midway through the first half through no.5 Erin Cuthbert, who followed up on a defensive error to slide the ball slowly under the goalkeeper who didn't seem happy about diving on the astroturf. City promptly equalised after a nice move and cut back on the right, Fiona Brown doing the honours. I thought Rangers best player was their no. 8, one of their three Megan's, this one being the captain Megan Brown There was also a decent amount of aggression and the ref was in action dishing out some warnings but no yellows up to half time. Apparently the Gers star turn, Natalie Ross was out through suspension for two yellows. The girls seem to take it seriously enough and have as many coaches as Ally&Co. It was quite funny to see the quite rotund lady referee flanked by two quite tall, slim male assistants. Due to a breakdown in the coffee machine it was just too cold to stay for the second half.

Fouling constantly is part of their game and the refs just accept it as do most of the players, the minute you go past someone you get brought down.

It's a farce the commentator has just said it's "water football", shouldn't be played.

Great feed thanks. Have seen Independiente v Racing, couldn't get a ticket for the big one. The fans are mad over there.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila on BBC Radio Scotland BBC Posted at 12:31 "Ross County are coming up with a lot of confidence, are used to winning and a have lot of energy and nothing to lose. "I am impressed with what they're doing and we will be in for a hard match today. Didn't seem to know who they were playing? Hamilton top of the league after 9 games; can Celtic qualify for Europe next season or even finish in the top 6?
-
It wouldn't be the reduced numbers it would be where they are seated that would be the issue. I will make some enquiries about that but if you think about it if you put all the Celtic fans in the Broomloan then you don't have to separate them from our fans by 10 columns of seats and surround them with police and stewards. Of course it would also mean the same would undoubtedly happen to us at Parkhead.

Back on topic, a Rangers manager settling or apparently settling for second best at any time that it is still mathematically possible to be first is unacceptable, a Rangers manager settling or apparently settling for second best less than a quarter way into the season is a sacking offence in my book.

"You've got two automatic promotions then I think that's the target." His English is indeed appalling but I took it that he was referring to his "achievements". I interpreted it as you've as in we have won two automatic promotions or you've as in we have got two automatic promotions, in the bag so to speak. The royal "we" or "you" perhaps. Then you have to interpret "I think that's the target" as I think that was the target. Once you work all that out you might get his meaning, so misunderstanding is not surprising. Americans tend to use the past tense when referring to the present, perhaps he's trying to develop an opposite form of language.

Right folks, it's betting near crunch time for the dinner, 64 days to be precise. So far only 9 people have signed up, so I really am beginning to wonder if it is all worthwhile. As things stand not enough people are coming to pay for Dave Smith's dinner the way I costed it, not to mention how embarrassing it will be if less people are there when we have advertised him as a guest than when he turned up unannounced last time. The first target is 12 people to make the thing pay but that would not be enough to justify Cristobal getting a special licence to give us the café next door to ourselves. If we don't get that then we really won't be able to ask DS to speak in the middle of the main restaurant. We really need to get the numbers up to 15-20 to make it worth their while to staff up the café for us. So can I please ask if anyone else intends going can they please at least pay the £10 deposit asap. A number of people have indicated that they would attend but so far haven't made any payment. PM me for bank details if you don't have them or even seek me out at Livingston tomorrow or the ladies match at Petershill on Sunday and press a nice crisp tenner or twenty into my palm.
