  1. I'm voting for you as President, and FS as Company Secretary.
  2. Robben was surely the player of the tournament, then Mascherano?
  3. Actually I think he's the smartest of the three, like the blazer. The other two's ties aren't pulled up properly, tut tut. If you switch between the two channels, ITV are a second or two behind.
  4. BBC pundits are far superior, though O'Neil, Dixon and Hoddle are doing their best without any graphics. Wright is nearly as bad as Cannavaro. Shearer gradually taking over from Hansen for the Beeb with Ferdinand as the rising star and outstanding graphics. Nice to see them in collar and tie for the final with ITV seemingly unable to afford a studio for the 3rd place game either.
  5. Not taken part in this but I''ve been on Argentina from the start and sticking with them tonight.
  6. Thinking about that for those who feel extremely strongly about the current ownership of our Club, then the parallel is there with FCUM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.C._United_of_Manchester. How about it GS, FC Rangers of Glasgow?
  7. Bit like FC United of Manchester perhaps, and in not entirely different circumstances.
  8. So we have had quite a few high profile home friendlies, something we definitely ought to pick up when the the time is right. I would think that next season would be ideal because whilst we should be in the SPL we will not be in Europe (unless we win the SC/ get the dispensation this season) so a few games v EPL or European opposition would be a decent build up on the non European midweeks.
  9. The poll resulted in a narrow win for 27/09/2014 v Hibernian, with the obvious caveat of moving to Sunday if required. As was proven last time, even if an early kick-off is unpalatable to some from a football point of view it gave us a nice comfortable afternoon/ early evening to eat and drink; so in some ways I'd be hopeful of an early kick off again. In the first instance I'm only going to put up two options: going back to Malaga Tapas http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186534-d1087980-Reviews-Malaga_Tapas-Glasgow_Scotland.html or "somewhere else". In order not to appear biased, I will say only that I have confirmed that Cristobal would be happy to have us back; but it is entirely up to you guys if you want to go back or somewhere else. If you wish to go somewhere else then please post a suggestion and I will do a second poll. Unless there is a landslide one way or the other, I'll keep the poll open till the end of the month, so that everyone who is on holiday gets a chance to vote.
  10. The moment you've all been waiting for - the official declaration of the official result of the official poll for the The Second Semi Annual Gersnet Dinner. In a low poll, albeit more votes were cast than in the first round at the end of May: 84.7% of the votes were cast for 27/09/2014 v Hibernian and Christmas/New Year put together. Only two other options received one vote each: 15/11/2014 v Alloa and End of Season None of the other options received any support. In second place with 5 votes (38.5%) was Christmas/New Year but the winner by a short head 6 votes (46.2%) was 27/09/2014 v Hibernian. (Sorry rbr ) I think there is an obvious answer here, we have the second dinner on 27 September or the Sunday if the game is moved; and take up GS' suggestion of Crimbo drinks (which he or someone else can organise, thank you very much). I'll put up a new poll for venue.
  11. Final bump; voting closes in 2 hours.
  12. And for the record the only one I've met is Mr Graham at an RF meeting and briefly chatted outside Ibrox once or twice, more a nod of recognition than anything else.
  13. I'd say you're a lot closer to G&H than I'm ever likely to be to E2
  14. Given you and your mates Houston and Graham I'd say it was pretty damned good.
  15. Fair enough on Newcastle. Just checked and Arsenal was actually 2003. I recall them running rings round us as they passed it man to man around the centre circle and won 3-0 going on 6. It was midweek and if I recall Celtic drew or beat them on the Saturday.
  16. Arsenal admittedly a few years back and Newcastle as well.
  17. Pretty confident average attendance will be nearer 40,000 than 30,000.
  18. I think it will be 25,000 - 30,000, you think 20,000 - 25,000? What we agree I believe is that the most important thing is the actual average attendance and I also think that we would agree that 40,000 would be the magic number here.
  19. I'm confident we will sell at least 25,000; which would be "far more" (25%) than 20,000, in my book.
  20. When was the last time we sold out a friendly? We will sell far more than 20,000 ST's as think you have accepted now, have you not?
  21. The liquidators have already settled the claim against Collyer Bristow for "Breach of undertaking, breach of trust, deceit/conspiracy, admin and liquidation costs, claimant's costs, interest." but it seems unlikely they will be able to collect the £24m. So where would oldco shareholders (like me) get the money to pursue anyone else? The fact that the HMRC have substantially lost the EBT case or even that the SPL Clubs based their decision on a misconception of the reason for administration/liquidation cannot be held against them unless it would be possible to prove that they did not act in good faith i.e. on a reasonable judgement based on the information before them at the time.
  22. The tension is almost palpable now. Last day of voting, poll closes 6.00pm
  23. If you had read #50, #61 & #71 you would appreciate that it was a bit of light hearted banter based on my excitement about the new season. You are entitled to your opinion but no one is forcing you to "contribute to internet forums".
