It seems to me that this is a well argued summary of the position. Breifly as I said at http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?64186-Now-official-HMRC-appeal-dismissed/page7 #69 ............ HMRC will have well documented opinion to show that they were right to pursue the BTC and equally that they were right not to accept the settlement offer per se, as well as the case had wide ranging implications; and there can be no argument that they were right to pursue the PAYE/NIC that led directly to the administration. The SFA for their part will say that they dealt with the situation as it was presented to them at the time. We would be wasting our time and a great deal of money trying to prove that the Revenue's action was in some way vexatious but there may well be scope for a negotiated settlement with the SFA/SPL. However, the problem there is that the SFA don't have that money and they are not going to order the Clubs to pay us back transfer fees that they were owed by oldco. Redistributing prize money or TV money also is problematical. Sadly the loss of prestige and income at home and in Europe also is irrecoverable.

I wasn't aware that there was a requirement to be objective I'm told the human brain is a bit like a computer hard drive; once it gets full up it might overheat and you have to delete some information before you can add any more.

No doubt Mr X will get a balanced view by reading GS' posts as well. Please excuse an old man, I get easily excited these days.

That's certainly true and not just the home club but hotels, bars & restaurants as well. However, I don't think Arsenal or the type of Clubs they could invite v us right now would be pretty, so perhaps discretion is the better part of valour? We may be stronger and more of an attraction next summer as (hopefully) we prepare to re-enter the top flight and take a further step up in player quality. That said, I could see us struggling against the type of opposition we will face on this tour. It's really a hiding to nothing in a playing sense, although I realise that's not the point of the exercise.

And that isn't going to happen until as Zappa says "we're back at the top of Scottish football winning Premier League titles and major Cups as well as competing in European competitions. ".

But it isn't where we are now, that's the point; and that's also why we're out in CA playing feeder teams not playing in prestigious tournaments or hosting big name opposition (Commonwealth Games apart).

You are living in cloud cuckoo land. At one and the same time you have been saying (rightly) that our wordswide stock is at a low ebb and at the same time you think we should make millions off a tour, get real man.

They've given us a pretty damn good write up, though I don't recall us scoring in Manchester and not sure about "legendary midfielder Ally McCoist". This doesn't sound like an easy friendly by any manner of means. Going to be a hot one too, forecast 29C. Wonder how the money is divided up for this kind of thing e.g. do they have to pay us an appearance fee and then keep the gate, what about our flight, travel and accommodation costs?

Summer transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours
BrahimHemdani replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
28 man squad for the SPFL Championship; we certainly didn't NEED Simonsen and now that he's signed Zaliukas, I doubt he'd have signed McGregor either. -
It's a toss up who's a worse manager, McCoist or Levein.
-
Oh yes, of course I will be; was just referring to the immediate or semi immediate future. And it will be great to be going down Gorgie Rd and Easter Road again next season. No doubt you'll miss the trips to the frozen northern wastelands
-
Very fair comment and stupid typo (fair/fare) now corrected; I should have said better players.
-
Agree about McGregor and especially Simonsen; neither do anything for ST sales. 25,000 - 30,000 has been my estimate all along but will certianly be helped by the three you mention. A good start may push it over 30,000. Think I'll volunteer to help in the TO.

Even if they are going to send Gallagher out on loan again, what about the two youngsters? -
It's a reasonable strategy is it not; especially as they are not going to get rid of the master tactician and the biggest complaint seems to be the fare on the park. I must say I can't wait to get down to Derby and then Hearts in the opener. MIller and Boyd, a fit again McLeod, a rejuvinated and motivated Law, Aird on the right Temps on the left, and Zaliukas at the back. I think it's exciting and should be much better than the tosh we've had to watch these last two seasons and nowhere further north east than Kirkaldy which is a huge bonus too.

Shoosh, you'll upset GS

If he could be coached to get to the bye line more often, I believe he could be a regular match winner; but chance would be a fine thing. -

So who decides what wages to pay? OK I know the answer - Sandy Easdale?

Are you discounting Aird? If Templeton is fit to play on the left then surely Aird will be on the right where he makes a bigger contribution in terms of assists with cut backs but is less likely to score. I think he will be ahead of Gallagher in the pecking order. -

No chance for Sinnamon ahead of Foster or Faure. Where's McAusland? -

Wishfull thinking there Zappa. Can't see Ally letting his mate go but at least there appears to be a recognition that we need (and have indeed signed) a better and younger player for the position. To be fair to McCulloch; the partnership with Mohsni only conceded a goal every other game which is pretty fair even in the 3rd division (and 3 x better than the next best). -
