I have had similar issues in the past, don't understand the technicalities (may be to do with your security system) but you probably just need admin to reset your password.

He can go on holiday now for all he's contributing, come to think of it he could have gone on holiday at Christmas and not been missed. Maybe then McKay or Crawford could have got half a season.

The First Annual Gersnet Dinner (The Bears Picnic)
BrahimHemdani replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in Rangers Chat
I went into the restaurant on Tuesday before the match. Firstly, I can confirm that the yellow line restriction outside is only 8.00am to 1.00pm on Saturdays so that is the parking sorted. I strongly suggest parking in Pollokshields for the match then just drive straight down St Andrews Drive cross the lights at Shields Road and do a u-turn; the restauarant is in the block just before the junction. The dinner will be in the original one on the left, Cristobal has just opened a cafe style place in the shop on the right (wish I lived near for chocolate and churros on a Sunday morning!). If parking on the Ibrox side of the M8 then drive along Dumbreck past the entrance to the House for an Art Lover and Turn left onto Nithsdale Rd, drive past the Sherbrooke Hotel, Turn left onto St. Andrews Dr then as above or go along Paisley Rd W/A8, Turn right onto Seaward St, Take the 2nd left onto Scotland St,Turn right onto Shields Rd, Turn left onto St. Andrew's Rd and u-turn as above. Info for beer lovers - Estrella and San Miguel in bottles only, sorry no draft. Cristobal will chose 6 or 8 tapas from the list of those selected in this thread. He feels it is better to have 5 or 6 portions of a smaller number rather than 2 or 3 portions of 15 different tapas, as some may not get what they want. The rough plan is to start with drinks kindly provided by SDMC (and BD?) at as near 3.00pm as everyone gets there; the film crew will be there with us for approx 30-60mins whilst we drink and eat the tapas. They have been advised that one party does not wish to be filmed and anyone else who feels the same way will be accommodated. I am planning a short half-time quiz (SC will be excepted as he knows the answers!) followed by the paellas at around 4.30pm/5.00pm. At this point the plan is one Marisco (seafood) and one Montana (chicken, chorizo and added pork) paella. He will be happy to make another depending on demand. This will be followed by a choice of postre (desert) which will certainly include creme catalana fired at the table. Cristobal would like us clear by 6.30pm/7.00pm latest so he can set up for the evening diners. I am very confident that we will be well looked after and hopefully the event will be a great success. Any questions or comments please post here or PM me. RANGERSRAB I have included you but please advise about payment. I have PM'd you my number. Anyone who knows him please give him a shove, thanks. We could still fit in a few more in the area we have been allocated. -
dB, I love that word "somesuch" that you are so fond of and know it has faced some ridicule here in the past as it's not in the dictionary. Is it a translation from a German word? Are they Town, City or United or whatsoever or just FC?

Wallace happy with off-field progress at Rangers

That is certainly all true, although as I have said before, prior to having season ticket I was not always successful buying from Rangers and resorted to buying from fans outside the ground and once missed a game because none were available and often felt uncomfortable with some of my new neighbours. Also I would go back to my Club needs my money now; yes it is indeed an emotional response but that is what football is about is it not; emotion and passion and I have had plenty of that over the years from Rangers; happy to give some back now. -
New sponsors is the first thing that comes to mind; but let's see what comes out of the review before we rush to judgement.

I did say but thanks for clarifying. This just illustrates the problems with email/chat when you can't see the look on someone's face or hear the intonation in their voice.

Thanks for that and I guess you won't like my following post but I have replied to your question. The only point on which I would disagree is It's a gamble to see my team finally climb back to their rightful place in the top tier of Scottish football, that's a gamble I would happily take any day of the week. -

Yes we could; but the likes of Wallace will not go, he has made that clear. Who would pay any of our others the same money as we are paying them, except perhaps McLeod and McKay, which is certainly a worry. -

You do present a powerful argument Mr Amms but you know as well as me that you are not going to get your Rangers Bond (indeed those who had a different one lost it in liquidation!). I have booked three hotels for a holiday in a long haul destination later in the year; one is a world renowned name brand, one is a NA name brand and the other is a one off. I have used AMEX to make the bookings. So I am not protected in any way if any of these groups go down and hotels fail to honour my booking, although AMEX will try to help they are not obliged as they are not a credit card company. I didn't ask any of them to produce their latest business review before I made the bookings; it is an act of faith. To that extent it is the same act of faith that I pay Rangers for my ST and they fulfil the fixtures. I am not in in any serious doubt that they will not. If the RIFC goes down because other fans do not renew then I am in no doubt that Mr King will step up to the plate and save the day. I have no interest in Glastonbury, each to their own. However, if you want to go to the Grand Old Opry in Nashville you will have to buy a ticket a year in advance. You have no way of knowing who will appear on the stage on the night you attend or indeed if the Opry will still be around. However the Opry is an American institution, so I am sure that if whoever owns it now goes down some other company or even a group of past performers will step up to the plate (sic). I have already agreed several times that being a customer of Rangers is not the same as almost anything else because of the brand loyalty factor. -

That's all well and true except for the fact the present board and its CEO are not responsible for us not being in the CL etc. I am not happy about the way we are playing and have called for the replacement of the football management team but without knowing the actual terms of their contracts it is impossible to know whether Rangers could afford to "let them go". Why do you think that McCoist is sprouting all that drivel about it being a successful season because we have won the league? -

All we can do with the playing squad is let the 4 or 5 whose contracts are ending go. It would be counter productive to pay off anyone else unless they get new clubs and would be amenable to a deal, which is unlikely. -

Thta's a very good point if I may say. People around the world are astonished that we are getting 40,000+ in the 3rd and 4th division, witness the TV and press coverage to which I have alluded. -

I accept that there is a lot of truth in what you say and I have already conceded that "Rangers in particular have relied on the loyalty of their fans over the years and in Rangers case especially the last two years". However, one reason why banks began to pull the plug post 2008 is precisely because they no longer saw football clubs as a special case, just another non performing debt on their sick balance sheets. You can say that I am letting my heart my rule my head but Rangers have been my life for more than 50 years and I am going to give this essentially new Board a chance to put things right. TBH I don't care if they produce the review or a summary of the review on 25th April or the 25th May so long as they get on with the extremely difficult job in hand. The Club needs me and all other ST holders to renew now or it is clear that we will not be a going concern and I for one will not let them down. Withholding ST money will not achieve any purpose other than the collapse of that which we all hold so dear. -
I respect your views Amms but IMHO suggesting a man sells his kidney to invest in the Club is a poor show, whether said in jest or otherwise.

There's no question that footbal clubs in general and Rangers in particular have relied on the loyalty of their fans over the years and in Rangers case especially the last two years (Canal+ are the latest to film a documentary on this astonsihing phenomenon). That said, think about the places you shop, the other places of entrtainment you visit, your phone and internet supplier (castigated by one respondent if I recall) the utility companies etc (and yes I know football IS DIFFERENT to some extent because we are fans as well as customers) but how many of them tell you the results of their business reviews before you give them your business? -
Nice analogy though some might think that a whiskey brand may have been more appropriate in that regard. Do you seriously think that 5,000 people will pay into a ST trust fund; I doubt it will be 500. Proper marketing of our last push back to the SPL can see a rise in ST sales; but a new management team would be the biggest boost to sales and if this forum is anything to go by of far greater importance than any review regardless of the timing. I do note that on RM for example the ST trust is almost universally condemned as indeed is Mr King (and I can see the next comment coming, but I'm happy on here thanks, can't cope with the language over there). What I'm saying is that it is not clear to me how representative views expressed on here are of Rangers fans as a whole, given a different bias perhaps on different forums and the tiny minority of fans who post at all.

This has been a deply embarrassing period for the Club never mind it's supporters; of that there is no doubt. -

On the timing Frankie, I agree that this 25th-28th thing looks bad and I accept that we are an unusual times but I have to repeat that I don't think that the outcome of the review is the main deciding factor for most people in their decision whether or not to renew. Let's say the review tells us nothing new, what percentage of fans will not renew on that basis? Personally I think it will have quite a lot to offer if the new sponsorship trailer is anything to go by. The cynics may well be right that the timing was engineered but equally there can be no doubt that a comprehensive review was required. Not much point in bringing in professionals like Wallace and Nash and then saying just carry on in the same disastrous way the Club has been run these past several years. However, how could this clash of dates have been avoided. Shorten the review period, possible; but then Wallace would have argued he didn't have enough time. Delay the ST renewals till May as normal; but we are desperate for money. -

Are you saying that these investors in Rangers themselves invest in the sponsor, if so that's hardly a surprise is it? Wouldn't it be fairly obvious to ask the investors if they had any possible sponsors or commercial partners in their own portfolios? -
I'm sure most people would take Cuellar in a heartbeat; but Bougherra should never see Ibrox again after his shameful display in Malmo.

I just said that to get a reaction, problem is in reality Daly is earning too much to be dropped and unlikely he could be sold; so where would Boyd play?

Goodwin is as much a bomb scare as Mohsni. We do desperately need a goalscorer so Boyd has to be worth a shout and Daly/Boyd might be good combination We also desperately need a LMF player but doubt if Thomson or McFadden fit the bill. Gunning is probably the best shout and Eremenko IF his head is screwed on.
