Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
That is certainly true; but it would appear that that is how we (and other clubs) have operated for years. In an ideal world all of the next season's ST money would go to next season's expenditure but it seems that that is rarely if ever the case. The fact that we are having to borrow against that 8 months through the current financial year is a major concern but it doesn't alter the basic facts.- 112 replies

Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes but that's not really relevant since we always finance a significant chunk of expenditure from ST sales. It's a kind of mini Ticketus deal if you like except that Easdale/Laxey are taking care to be better secured.- 112 replies

Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
The interest is approx. £4.28 per season ticket (assuming 35,000). The loan's not relevant from that point of view if it's repaid; because part of our expenditure is always financed by ST sales.- 112 replies

Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is indeed 30% i.e. that is the nominal rate taking account of the interest rate per compounding period multiplied by the number of such periods per year (two in this case). So if the exercise is repeated Laxey get £300,000. However, if it was interest rather than a flat fee, it is arguable that the Annual Effective Rate (EFF) is actually 32.25%. This is the interest rate compounded yearly that achieves the same future value as the APR. The EFF is the rate that you actually earn for the period of time stated i.e. 6 months in this case. In other words if you charge 15% per 6 months on £1,000,000 you will get back £1,322,500.- 112 replies

Bear in mind that a lot of poor folk (like me) pay in 4 monthly instalments (up until 2011: 31 May - 31 Aug) and also after 26 April (barring the cup final!) we will still have wages to pay and no source of income on a weekly basis.- 112 replies

Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
It may not be as straightforward as that but lumping them together does tend to imply some kind of link. I wonder if the fact that Mr A Easdale is only a member of the football club board means that he doesn't have to declare it as a related transaction and/or a conflict of interest. If you were AE and wanted to appear to be lilywhite and altruistic wouldn't you want a separate announcement to highlight the contrast? I also wonder if the property charges rank pari passu or whether there is a first and second charge?- 112 replies

Rangers Announce Secure Loan - £1.5m. Repayable by 1st Sept
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
What I do find strange is why the two quite different loans in terms of fees and interest have been lumped together in this way; perhaps it's nothing more than neatness or fulfilling stock market rules but it does beg a number of questions including the one you pose.- 112 replies

That's one of the reasons why you are "allowed" 6 before you are suspended these days. Can't remember the number when that rule changed but way back it was 3 and it was commonplace for players to appeal against the third caution. The other reason is that cautions are much more frequent these days; the number before a suspension has been gradually increased over the years. I remember it going from 3 to 4, can't recall if it was ever 5. Also points are awarded depending on the nature of the offence and you need to accumulate 18 before being suspended (apart from being sent off). So in theory you could be cautioned 17 times for not going bacck 10 yards at a free kick and not be suspended. SFA DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES 1. Sending Off Offences 1.1 Serious Foul Play or Violent Conduct 12 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension). 1.2 Spitting at an Opponent or Any Other Person 12 penalty points (plus an automatic two match suspension). 1.3 Denying the Opposing Team or an Opponent a goal or an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity as Defined by Law 12 5 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension). 1.4 Offensive, Insulting or Abusive Language and/or Gestures 8 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension). 1.5 Receiving a Second Caution in the Same Match The penalty points recorded will be the combined total for the two cautionable offences (plus an automatic one match suspension). 2. Cautionable Offences Penalty Points 2.1 Unsporting Behaviour a) Obstruction involving bodily contact 2 b) Deliberately tripping 3 c) Recklessly dangerous play 3 d) Deliberately playing an opponent's leg or legs 3 e) Adopting a threatening and/or aggressive attitude 3 f) Holding or pushing an opponent 3 g) Time Wasting 3 h) Shirt pulling, etc. 3 i) Handling the ball deliberately 2 j) Feigning injury 3 k) Simulation 3 l) Action(s) deemed by the referee to be inflammatory 3 m) All other offences deemed by the referee to be unsporting behaviour 1 2.2 Dissent by Word or Action 3 2.3 Persistently infringing the Laws of the Game 3 2.4 Delays the restart of play or fails to respect the required distance at the restart of play 1 2.5 Entering or re-entering or leaving the field of play without the referee's permission 1

I do detect a just a hint of sarcasm there dB. Of course it is always difficult to analyse a situation from one still photograph but there is no evidence there of any foul committed by Cribari; on the contrary one of the Stenhousemuir players has a hand on Wallace' shoulder. However, Cribari was rightly booked for being the only one not to jump.

Schools holidays as well? We may need to run up a cricket score in that one to qualify or get to the play-offs.- 35 replies

Euro 2016: Home nations await qualification draw
BrahimHemdani replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
I agree, on current form (and continued improvement) we should be capable of qualifying. However, the biggest question is how long will the queue be to get into Gibraltar? Edit: Gibraltar's main stadium, the 5,000 capacity Victoria Stadium, does not meet Uefa's requirements to be able to host competitive international fixtures, so they will play European qualifiers at the Estadio Algarve in Portugal. Gibraltar, taking part for the first time after being accepted as a Uefa member last year, were initially drawn to play against Spain but were moved to Group D to keep the two teams apart and avoid exacerbating political tensions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26207723 The Estádio Algarve is an association football stadium located between Faro and Loulé, in Portugal and the home of Louletano Desportos Clube, who play in the Campeonato Nacional de Seniores. The Estádio Algarve is also the temporary home ground of Gibraltar national football team[2] and it also hosts the final match of the Algarve Cup, a major annual international tournament in women's football. From 2004 to 2013, Louletano shared the stadium with Sporting Clube Farense. The stadium has a capacity of 30,002, and was built for the Euro 2004 tournament. Aside from football, it has also hosted music festivals and concerts, and was temporarily converted into a super special stage during the 2007 Rally Portugal (part of the 2007 World Rally Championship season). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Est%C3%A1dio_Algarve- 35 replies

I'd go with the flogging first.
-
Maybe he was just being sarcastic; maybe he meant 5 years and the extra 2 in front was a typo?
-
That doesn't answer my points which are that we tried to put them out the league 50 years ago and we have insulted them by not even getting the right Albion in the advert. They have stayed afloat that's what they've done. They don't have any pretensions to grandeur. Scottish football drags itself down without any help from minnows like Albion Rovers. Just take a look at the empty seats at Tannadice on Sky News last night.
-
I'd say Albion Rovers have two reasons now to take a pop at us and both entirely legitimate. If they ever needed any motivation for the cup tie then they have it now.
-
Nothing could be calculated to give Albion a greater boost than this insult; because a blunder from our side is an insult to them, make no mistake. I can only say again whoever issued or signed off on this advert must be sacked.
-
Apparently £260k/week + advertising rights etc. Don't know how he can manage.
-
I cannot see him getting a new playing contract in 2015 when his current deal ends he will be 37. We/Ally would need to be extremely desperate to play him in the SPL.
-
What these pictures prove is that at the dates they were taken and as far back as 1928 there was a plaque on the wall of the stand that said "READY". They don't prove that the official motto wasn't "aye ready" any more than the crest on Bill Struth or Jim Forrest's blazer.
-
I don't care if we were denied a blatant penalty and they got one for nothing (both of which remain to be seen on video) we should be capable of beating Stenhousemuir at home. I would suggest that we didn't, is down to three things. Thing #1 - they learned from the last time they came to Ibrox and watching us play ever since; our main threat is Wallace down the left which they snuffed out by double-teaming him every time. Thing #2 - with nothing to lose and everything to gain after an 8-0 drubbing they decided that attack was the best form of defence; and against our ramshackle defence so it proved. Thing #3 - Ally demonstrated yet again that he has no idea how to change a game when things are going against us. What was the point of sending Shiels on with 6 mins to go; we had run out of ideas after 10/15 mins of the second half. IMHO Faure is the best of our CB's at the moment and should be played there every week. McCulloch is treading water as his last desperate tackle (which could easily have been a red card) clearly proves. Cribari was a severe disappointment today; a player of his pedigree should take a game like that in his stride but he just seems to be going through the motions. Much as Mohsni is a bomb scare, he's the best alternative we have till the league's won and then I would give Gasparotto a chance. I also think it's time to bring Peralta off the bench and give him a chance in a central midfield three (where he provided much needed drive when he came on at Ayr). That would release Law to a more attacking role and I would go with Aird, Daly & Templeton up front. Sorted!
