I thought Barazite had finished his trial. If he is affordable then there is no harm keeping him for a season.
-
I'll be judging Beattie after he has had 5 or 6 games as 1) he needs fitness and 2) needs to adjust to the SPL and his new team mates. Granted he has looked poor but he did show some good composure to set Miller up at Hibs last week when 99 strikers out of 100 would have probably tried to shoot from that tight angle. Its a long season with 4 competitions so all out strikers will be needed.

To the best league in the world argument it depends on whether you are looking for entertainment, skill, excitement, standard etc. But I wouldnt say La Liga is the best in the world, its in the top 4 in Europe along with Serie A, EPL and Bundesliga. Id say a few South American leagues are easily on par and if not better than Euro leagues in some catergories. One reason the likes of Messi etc go to La Liga is the similar lifestyle between South america and Spain, not to mention if they come to UK they are paying 50p in the pound for tax.

Ridiculous statement when Velicka is still on the books.
-
Edu for me and I do think he will get better. Also depends who the opponents are. Edu gets forward more and mcCulloch may be the preferred choice in more tricky games to protect the back 4 and allow the likes of Davis to get forward more.

I mean Ive backed Inverness so Hamilton are bound to win! The SPL being so poor I wouldnt be surprised with something like a 4-2 away scoreline.
-
Ive back Inverness today. Banker away win!

To discuss the group, anyone agree we have a good chance against Man Utd more so than we met them when Eck was in charge. Id say WS has us more organised and Man U are weaker now than they were then. I say we can "at least" get a draw against them at Ibrox. I think they have a shaky defence, only Vidic and Evra are top drawer. Could be a game to get Lafferty to annoy the pants out of Vidic. Old Trafford will be a different scenario, and cant see us creating much there but at home Im well confident.
-
I wanted Chelsea and Madrid but probably got the next best for glamour, so Im happy with that. I fancy us against anyone at Ibrox but our away form has to improve. Valencia are the best side Ive ever seen at Ibrox back in Advocaats days. We played Munich, PSV and Parma off the park in that era but Valencia outclassed us, but I dont think they are near the same team these days.

Lennon is a terrific manager!!! He is signing shite galore and giving us some great Euro nights!
-
Gav coming up short as usual....
-
Velicka should just be given a free transfer to get off the wage bill - if he isnt in WS plans.

Good post for someone who has been drinking Craig I can see why Lafferty reacted, many people would react by having the ball blasted at you, its just footballers are in the spotlight and are supposed to be non-human at times. However as players get older and more experienced then not reacting to things get easier but Lafferty has proved he hasnt grown up yet.
-
He surely has to be better than Lafferty though!
-
If I had an edit option for the original post Id do it no probs mate! But Craig stole my thunder

If it was a group where we would have a good chance id go for: AC Milan (Euro legends but I think they are rebuilding a squad at the moment) Panathinikos Rangers Bursaspor But I do fancy an English side and Madrid, so for a glamour group Id got for: Chelsea Real Madrid Rangers Auxerre

Anderlecht 2-2 Partizan Belgrade (agg 4-4) (Partizan Belgrade win 3-2 after penalties) FC Sheriff Tiraspol 0-3 Basle (agg 0-4) Hapoel Tel-Aviv 1-1 Red Bull Salzburg (agg 4-3) Sampdoria 3-2 Werder Bremen (agg 4-5) Sevilla 3-4 Braga (agg 3-5) Sevilla out! That might do something to the seeding pots as Im sure they were top seeds. The Sampdoria v Bremen game must have been good along with the Anderlecht game. Tonights games: Ajax v Dynamo Kiev, (agg 1-1), PO, L2, 19:45 Auxerre v Zenit St Petersburg, (agg 0-1), PO, L2, 19:45 FC Copenhagen v Rosenborg, (agg 1-2), PO, L2, 19:45 MSK Zilina v Sparta Prague, (agg 2-0), PO, L2, 19:45 Tottenham v Young Boys, (agg 2-3), PO, L2, 19:45

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGMJD0LFCks]YouTube- Di Canio and Ian Ferguson[/ame]

His first red card! It could have been at least 3 by now so he should could himself lucky. I really thought he would have matured over the summer and WS would have given him the pep toalk already. You dont want to take an agreesive streak out of a player sometimes - Alex Ferguson has always said that - but there is a difference between agressive and stupid. Best Rangers example I can think of is Ian Ferguson. The guy put himself about brilliantly but was far from stupid.
-
Agree with that. And the defence against Sweden was awful, no way will we qualify playing the likes of Kenneth.
-
Can only be Boyd for me :fish: Miller hands down. Gav's pretty much said it - Miller is is the better player although I dont think we will miss Boyds goals long term. I can see us getting goals from all over the park this season. Seriously though Ive never hated a player in my life, not even Lennon or Roy Keane in his prime etc. Hate is a word thrown about too much and for someone to have such a ill feeling for someone means that other person has done something seriously wrong to them personally. So for those who think I hated Boyd they are way off. There is a difference between hating someone and thinking they are a shite footballer or a wank as in the likes of Lennon's case.
-
He'll have more MOTM awards anyway
-
No wonder he is being asked with his current goalscoring bonuses
-
Hoi! Buffel was a decent player on his day!!! Sebo could have just been given a chance!! :box:
-
Im not disrespecting but Its not as if we are talking about Laudrup, Gascoigne, Goram, Gough, McCoist, Albertz or Cooper leaving. So Gav is right, Boyd's performances will soon be forgotten about while the best of the past wont be. The club moves on, get over it. Boyd scored goals against junk SPL opposition...big deal...the standard of SPL has been in decline in the last 10-15 years and is probably at an all time low in the last few years, I thought you'd be one who noticed that. So any comparison with past legends is a nonsense. Do I hear you making a fuss about closing the door on Vanoli or Ricksen from their time in a Rangers shirt? we remember they played for Rangers but that its, not many of their performances will stick in my mind the same as Boyd's, yet the likes of Laudrup gives me superb memories.
