I've got a 1990's CD on at the moment and loads of songs are bringing back great memories of going to Ibrox on a saturday with my mate on the train from Aberdeen. It was magical days out during 9IAR. Im trying to find the best game for me but i cant see past our 3-1 win against Celtic at Hampden in 1994. They were playing there for the season in the league while the pigsty got done up. Hateley took the lead then Van Hooijdonk scored. Hateley put us back infront then Laudrup scored a wonder solo to win the match 3-1!!! October 30th 1994!!! By far my best Gers memory!!!

Scotzine, out of interest, who do you support?

Same again on Sunday!!! WATP

Yip agreed there mate. He is playing well below england standard and his season is the opposite of the UK's. Capello took the correct decision here. When Beckham is fit then he is still probably a first pick as he gives that something extra to the team but that could have been under Mclarens team. Capello is starting afresh and picked the correct right sided players.

Aye, I well thought the new stand which is opposite from the camreas looked huge from outside. The stands behind the goals arent the biggest. I watched Liverpool v Chelsea at Anfield last august in the Blu Bar outside the ground. Atmosphere was superb and they sang for 90 mins. I was alone as the misses didnt want to go to the pub and if i had a few more nips id have been up singing the Gers songs to them. That trip made me stop disliking Chelsea as i was impressed with them.

Disappointing Transfer Window but No Excuses Please

What i fear most about Huttons move is his mind state that he may not want to be there and wish he was still at Ibrox. Then he ends up not playing well and the Spurs fans get on his back and think he is a flop. I hope he adjusts to life down there straight away and shows them how good he is. Its never easy moving away, i went to London when i was 10 but soon loved it, then came to Singapore alone at 26, but you have just got to get on with it and move on. Saying that if he gets homesick and wants a move back id be more than happy if he pulls on the jersey again. He is by a mile the best talent we have produced. -
Yip I know where you are there. Not far from Green Pk underground station and close to 'The Ritz' - fine location. I was in my element there last august. Ive got a few pics of Stamford Bridge i may put up, its nice set up they have there.

Yip agreed. I always said Weir will never last a full season regardless how much of an asset he has been. With 7 games this month (shortest month of the year) we're going to need our important players fit, so id leave Weir out again where we can (probably Falkirk and Gretna).

Joe Jordan should have been a country mile ahead of him in the Scotland No.2 stakes. Even Richard Gough should have been included IMO. Way ahead of Pressley anyway.
-
Where did you stay in London? I stayed at the Millenium Hotel at Stamford Bridge when i was there in August, cracking hotel for a very decent price in the west end.

Disappointing Transfer Window but No Excuses Please
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Great stuff Frankie. Im not too dishearted we didnt pull in extra faces simply because I look at it form a larger scale. This time last year we were a absolute shambles and were struggling all over the park. At the start of this season a lot of Bears said we would sacrife the title if it meant stability but closing the gap on Celtic. Basically WS picked us up too quickly as we went on a good run in the 2nd half of last season. In the summer our squad numbers increased and coming round to this transfer window we didnt need too much new faces. We do need full back cover, we needed that before Hutton left. We have 3 squad keepers but Im only really confident with McGregor in goal at the moment, the other 2 dont do much for me. We all know we have lacked a creative player for years - so step forward Buffel - if WS plays him. But our numbers upfront are pretty decent, we have a good 6 players who can play there. I suppose being Rangers fans we expect a decent name or 2 coming in during the transfer window and we didnt get that. However if we stay clear of a few injuries then there is no reason why we cant win a double or a treble. The cups are a lottery but we are in pole position in the league and are definatly strong enough to go on and win it which would be massive in terms of how far WS has taken us (after a 3rd and 2nd finish) and not to mention financially as it gains entry to the CL. -
Just saw Aston Villa got 5 players in the England squad, so Squeil is doing something right. But then i thought about there style of play, they are another club who goes 4-5-1 / 4-3-3. They have 2 fast wingers in Young and Agbonlahor with a big target man upfront - Carew. It could be similar to us. We have/had Cousin upfront with us currently playing Burke, McCulloch or Naismith in the wide places. This formation can actually be a success if used correctly. Once we get Beasley back on the left then that will help us if we are still playing this way. But Id like to see Novo given a run on the right and either Gow or Buffel playing in the centre behind our front man with Ferguson and Hemdani behind that. Now that we have Davis and Dailly until the end of the season it gives us that bit more cover until Thomson returns as Faye was useless. Once everyone is fit Im be interested to see Smiths first pick formation and XI.

It will be interesting to see if he is included on Sunday. Imagine he plays then gets his move granted on Monday!! Agreed on Buffel (shock eh!!), we were preparred to splash out on a striker when he should be played.

I'll only put a schedule up if people stick to doing it otherwise it can be done at random. But Feb is a busy fixture list for us. Sun 3rd - Hibs (A) SFAC - Craig Sat 9th - Falkirk (H) SPL - Gribz Wed 13th - Panathinikos (H) UEFA - SuperAlly Sun 17th - Kilmarnock (A) SPL - Frankie Thur 21st - Panathinikos (A) UEFA - AlanMidd Sun 24th - Gretna (H) SPL - Stewarty Wed 27th - Hearts (A) SPL - Juffery

This boy could be a good signing. He was impressive when he came on the scene at Villa and I thought he would go on and be a good player but MON didnt see him in his plans so messed up his career with a move to Fulham. Thats a non starter as they are poor at the moment. Hopefully he gets a game on Sunday and shows what he can do.

Chris Kirkland and Emile Heskey get in the squad ahead of West Ham pair Robert Green and Dean Ashton - WTF is Capello on. But he picks Matthew Upson who runs likes he is carrying 10 kgs of sand in each boot.
-
Well done Capello, I like Becks but he hasnt played a competitve game since October therefore cant nearly be in the running. Capello has to show some toughness here as its his first squad. Becks is 32 and has another 3 or 4 years to get that 100th cap.

Rangers 2 : 0 Hearts (CIS Cup) - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Gribz replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Ive said before id like to see Hemdani get forward a bit more with Thomson sitting behind him. Maybe Dailly can do that until Thommo is back. -
Thats pretty funny, i bet he gets a slagging for that
-
Quite imaginative actually!! I dont think its a bad signing, just not a terribly good one. But if he plays i think he'll be ok for us. Its just WS hasnt shown much ambition on this one but il trust him judgement
-
Sorry but i had to chuckle at that, i dont think we could blame you, i think everyone gets homesick in Dundee But werent you a bit of a decent keeper Frankie??
-
And with a game in hand albeit against Liverpool at Anfield but thats a given 3 pts. Get in there the Hammers  Liverpool are pish. Only Gerrard, Alonso and Torres are quality there yet he plays Mascherano ahead of Alonso The rest are average. Kuyt is average, For someone that is 6ft7 Crounch wins jack shit balls in the air. He is shite but then pops up with the odd fantastic goal. But he is Whaayyy out of his depth at Liverpool. But onto the Happy Ammers, 3 defeats in 16 games with our injury list ins superb and we are only a few points of the UEFA cup places. We still have Bellamy to come back. We were flying when he was in the team.

More top flight games being called off. The SPL / SFA are a joke. No top flight match should get called off due to rain. I thought every club had undersoil heating, cant they check weather forecasts?

I quited liked Boab at times depending where he was playing.
