  1. As I said on the day, he probably got caught by th Sun and was kicking the ball a bit aimlessly because of that. After that he slipped, which could have happened to all and everyone. Haven't seen the 2nd goal back, but am under the impression that it was Goldson who simply didn't kick for touch. As could have a few others still. When teams do press hard and fast, our CDs and DMs seem to develop problems kicking the ball away. They generally take too many steps in such case or try to be more clever. Cost us a few times ... but should have been rooted out since last season. As Frankie said above, our main problem is that goals are not distributed along the attack line and MF, it is one or 2 who do the job, the rest does not. Despite having Stewart, Jones and now Kamberi, all rather direct and willing to shoot.
  2. As I said for ages, we far too stubbornly play the same system no matter what. For a time, we got the results, even though the performances were not great. I don't think too much individual finger-pointing is required, especially not from the manager. The big problem for defenders is that their errors might have dire consequences, as it proved yesterday. But that happens to all defenders and teams every now and then, else there wouldn't be goals. Be that as it may, we do carry a number of people for weeks now who fail to reach their own standards. Likewise, we hardly ever change personnell when required. Games like yesterday, where fighting is required alongside "guile", the scene was set for Stewart, Kamberi, Jones and even Edmundson. People raring to go and challenge for a place, as well as being able to wear and tear teams like St. Johnstone down. Why do we need to give the likes of Kent (to lesser extend than the others), Tavernier and even Morelos more and more time to get out of their troubles? When it is clear to see for weeks that it just ain't happening? I said a wee while ago that unless we win all games up to the OF one, the title challenge is over for another season. And mainly not down to the Scum do what they have to do, but us not fulfilling our potential and utilizing our options. Again. When SG took over, people said that he needs at least a certain number of transfer windows to rebuild the team to a title challenger. IMHO, we had a solid side last season and were pecked back by the same frailities that come to the fore now (tactic- / selection-wise), as well as some heinous COing and refereeing. The refreeing remains a problem, not least when you see what the Scum gets away with. But there still is too much self-inflicted damage ... and SG should not start pointing at the players. Regarding the transfer windows ... we collected a few gems by now, Aribo, Kent (when on top of his game) and now Hagi and probably Kamberi are a real step up in quality. Maybe we need another good summer window to get us over the title line ... and in saying that, I simple can't see any great quality over in their camp. TLB has collected a bunch capable of beating anything in the SPFL and that's essentially it. We seem to collect people for "the better of our game", but they can't show the required consistency against the brickwall and hammerthrowing brigades in Scotland. Strangely enough, as I said, I really thought that we got Polster, Jones, Kamberi, Barker and Co. for exactly that reason.
  3. RWFC: Rangers 3-0 Hearts RANGERS Women kicked-off their 2020 SWPL season with three points against Hearts at Rangers Training Centre this afternoon. A double from Megan Bell and a strike from Kirsten Reilly saw the new-look squad to victory. Joint Head Coaches Gregory Vignal and Malky Thomson started with Jenna Fife in goal, a back four of Emma Brownlie, Demi Vance, Lisa Martinez and Daina Bourma. Midfield was made up of Kirsten Reilly, Clare Gemmell and Chelsea Cornet, with Bala Devi, Brogan Hay and Megan Bell providing the attack for the Gers. A double from Megan Bell and a strike from Kirsten Reilly helped the new-look squad to their first three points of the season. 4. For all our defensive frailties, when do we stop with this "3"-up top stuff when we don't have the personnell? Hagi is a creator, not some rightish attacker. Kent is serioulsly out of shooting form, as is Morelos. Arfield performance standard was up and down as well. Yet we play them time and again. Kamberi was a revelation when he came on, Stewart is always good for a spark ... and dare I say it, Jones looks a player compared to Kent now. Dunno whether SG won't admit that his 7m star signing is off form, but we need to change things. Same with our captain, who simple is not delivering Anyone on the bench right now can't do much worse, so let them loose please.
  5. Game under way at the HTC ... Team 1-0 Megan Bell (12) HT 1-0 2-0 Megan Bell (61) ...
  6. Doing Plan A worse. Kent is in his early form of last season, too little end product. Tavernier is crossing #and shooting all over the park and heaven forbid, Morelos is firing blanks. We dilly-dallied ourselves out of the title in a similar fashion last season and have not learned a bit. Kamberi, Jones, Stewart should all start in the week, Polster too. The rest can "re-charge" the batteries ... to put it mildly.
  7. NB: Thanks to the gods of the internet that I have the option of listening to the Russian commentary ... rather than Crocker and Walker. What abysmal anti-Rangers shyte they are babbling throughout the half ...
  8. Slapstick goal and after that we had no plan whatsoever, very easy for St. Johnstone to play against. I give it to Katic that he might have got the Sun in his eyes and than had the misfortune of slipping. Yet the whole defense looks quite uneasy. We supposedly have at least 3 creative MFs on the park, but they are all over the place, no-one takes command or plays a telling pass. Flanks and crosses are woeful, be it Tav, be Morelos, be it ... take your pick. It is our CHs doing all the creative and game-opening business and as per usual, it ends up rubbish. I'd throw Stewart and Kamberi in straight away, as we create very little. Now with the Sun in their eyes, we might profit a little more.
  9. Well, as I said, methinks Barasic carried a knock for a while and as nigh everyone has found it tough going of late.
  10. ... long before one should question Barasic (who has been injured too), one might question when our captain reaches his own standard and on a weekly basis.
  11. Rangers Sign Nicola Docherty RANGERS are delighted to confirm the signing of Scotland international Nicola Docherty on a two-year-deal from Glasgow City. The 27-year-old will add defensive quality to the exciting new look Rangers Women’s squad after making the switch from the current SWPL Champions. ... She has gone on to win the league with City in every season since, as well as five Scottish Women’s Cups and four SWPL Cups. Additionally Docherty has Champions League experience, having featured in the competition numerous times. https://rangers.co.uk/news/women/rangers-sign-nicola-docherty/ Docherty: I Couldn’t Turn It Down NICOLA DOCHERTY says she couldn’t turn Rangers down after the Scotland international returned to the club for second spell, eight years after leaving. The left-back departed for Glasgow City in 2012 after coming through the Gers academy and now comes back to wear Rangers blue as a professional player – something she admits she could never have imagined happening as a young girl. https://rangers.co.uk/news/women/docherty-i-couldnt-turn-it-down/ We Are Ready To Get Started GREGORY Vignal says his new-look Rangers squad are ready for the start of the new campaign after two cup postponements. The call-offs mean the Gers have now had a seven-week long pre-season, and the joint head coach feels the squad are ready for their first competitive game. https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/we-are-ready-to-get-started/
  12. I think I need a few good hours to get over that one! What a comeback what a game. what an atmosphere. I hope we collect the money for Hagi as I write.
  13. If you whip up a mhedia frenzy about Morelos`temper, it spreads wider circles and gets to people`s minds. Just remember what happened last season, when he got bookings for virtually nothing but a bit of frustrated back-talk, while getting fouled like hell with next to no reaction.
  14. IMHO, quite a bit will depend on how Braga can continue at this frantic pace. You would hope that we go 2 up top with Kamberi, so we get some greater goal-threat. Wouldn`t mind Stewart either, who can cope with their technical ability.
  15. Haven't heard it (on screen that is) for quite a while. But when "we" started singing it, there was not even an investigation going or the people (in power - whomever they were) wanted one. IMHO, it was cynical banter like some of the "sectarian chants" - mainly to annoy the opposition. For the best part of a decade, it all turned vile and sinister (mainly from their side) and the public / media / politicians looked on and by default blamed us ... for "minorities" or victim-card bearers can never be faulted.
  16. Call me cynical, but I wonder whether the term "Old Firm" will be used more often than "Celtic" ... as it is something that reflects negatively on them. The important aspect of child abuse aside (as it IMHO needs no explanation how we all feel about it), given the way other countries have dealt with it, even "the English", it is utterly shameful how the topic is being handled in Scotland by those in power at nigh all strata of society, media and politics. One need not go into the paranoic depths of talking about a Catholic / Celtic Conspiracy, but seemingly one "does not speak about the Fight Club", whether being directly involved or thriving in its environment.
  17. EVening out .. methinks there was an article recently saying that since the Yahoos will have played the assumed top-half teams after the split 2 times away already, they will get something like 5 home games for the run in post split. Methinks TLB lamented last season and Hibs got one more uncalled for home game, I would assume that if things come to pass, he will turn a blind eye and demand all everything and for the "integrity of the game" will get it.
  18. Will be quite different from what we see in the league and I would assume that - of late - Braga only once saw us in full swing, during the OF game on the 29th. After that we will be hard to judge, opposition, tactic and players used. You would hope it won't be another con-affair that we at times suffered against Porto. You would hope we actually play a frontline of Kamberi - Morelos - Kent, i.e. three real attackers. Davis and Arfield in DM/CM and Hagi as the creative mind. BTW ... if he keeps his current form, I really hope we have a cool deal set up for him when the loan runs out. He seems to enjoy his role and is sure quite talented. Well, there always is the chance that some Scottish talent will hammer him before the end of the season, of course.
  19. Chris Jack had an article in the Herald ... https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/18240636.inside-track-referees-wont-cost-rangers-title-standards-slipped-far/ Last season the CO had what 15 charges against us and none against the Scum.
  20. Well, the "problem" in Scotland probably is that a minority (and their hangers-on in the mhedia) with a distinct "victim- and perceived-suppression" syndrome seemingly assumes that they can hand out anything that they "receive" from the vile society (whatever colour or religion) around them with impunity. Because their victim card is bigger. And as this has been reared to its current state over more than a decade, they actually think that their behaviour is pretty normal and fully acceptable. Going by the media reaction and those among the authorities, the seed has well and truly blossomed.
  21. 3 important points, good games from Hagi and Halliday again, quite a few still carry some winter laziness about though. Kamberi gave them more food for thought, despite them tiring a little (even though it was not that evident late on), as they effectivly had 2 strikers to take care of, rather than blocking the road for runners like Kent and Arfield. Should be Plan A for games like these. 2 offside goals (Morelos should have led Arfield finish it), the last one I need to see again, as it seemed harsh. Interesting eagle eye from the same linesman that didn't see the horror tackle on Goldson 2 metres away.
  22. We have seen far too little of Stewart, Jones and Kamberi to evaluate Plan B, C to F
  23. Plan A not done better, again. So so similar to the last couple of games. Haven't heard Arfield's name in the last 20 mins, Hagi the main creativity point, but little to aim at. Late in that half, we had two of our attackers in the area and SIX Livingston guys around them. Good shots from Davis and Halliday, who actually looks a threat ... but also had some terrible crosses. Though that particular disease has spread throughout the team, even taking the wind into account. IMHO, Morelos needs another attacker nearer to him, someone to draw defenders, so Kent et al have space to run into. Wonder what the thoughts of referee and linesman were at the Goldson challenge. Horrific. Hagi must be the most-fould guy on the park for two games running ... welcome to the school of Scottish talents.
  24. Now, when was the last time that a game at Ibrox was called off because of a waterlogged pitch? I reckon this will be the very first time that the game will/may take place the next day though.
  25. Saturday, 5.30 ... wonderful! For ages they move picture FORWARD to Saturday and SUnday noon, but when I got concert tickets, they move it from 3 o'clock (which would be just fine) to the evening ?
