Just out of interest, what is he referring to when speaking about "title deeds"? While people will obviously welcome a host of the old guard, without a Kennedy or McColl, any bid will stop in its tracks with running costs to be met et al.

Ibrox and Murray Park hived off to 'separate' newco
der Berliner replied to forlanssister's topic in Rangers Chat
Perhaps people are just making this up as they go along ... an in this time of mass-paranoia and hysteria, every bit of ill-informed journalism finds willing recipients? Just saying. -
Time to put the record straight please

Well, it just has a) to be true and b) the relevant people actually caring. If it goes on at the same pace as it has been, the witch will be burned to ashes long before any verdict will be there. -
Said it before, supporters' polls are essentially meaningless. Much like statements from so-called trusts and supporters organizations. These people are single-minded in the love for their club and those who stand and stood in the way of that club's success. You could equally ask for an impartial vote from mothers on a vote on a death penalty / castration for paedophiles and rapists.

Methinks there is no default transfer and contract stuff. People would have to sign up for the newco, whether their contracts shifts or not. Green threatened especially any clubs who want to get players in dispute with contractual law for nothing, or luring them away. What should he have done instead? As for meetings, I for one do not know where the players are and were. McCoist was not there, and Green was probably all over the place doing legal stuff and talking to investors. Again, what should he tell them without having any facts? All he could have done is beg them to stay on or transfer to the newco ... for the good of the club? I'm not siding with Green here, just asking questions. Everyone in the media has their mind made up about Green, FF has turned into Anti-Green Central today. This is sickening beyond compare. -

They all lamented on no contact and all. What should he have done or told them. Phoning up 30odd people telling them ifs and buts and maybes? Every day the situation seems to shift, so what he says one day may become irrelevant the next. WHO forced the players to decline to join up during these last 10 days? Their status would not have changed had they gone to Ibrox or Auchenhowie on Thursday. Again, the only reason I see with some is to force Green's hand here. But that would IMHO not be Whittaker or Lafferty. -
That would be a team without history then. Unless we can coax the SFA into us buying the Rangers history like the Italian FA did with Fiorentina. I would have my doubts right now.

Indeed. Some people simply have friends even from behind the enemy lines. There is no one formula/blueprint/template for being a Rangers supporter.

The situation needed nothing, IMHO. Green simply stated the legal stuff, which may be challenged by the PFA et al. IMHO, from what we have heard so far, the players actually never wanted to return to Murray Park for the first day of pre-season training. For one reason or another, they next to jumped on the chance to walk away from this mess. I sad it before, there was nothing stopping them to at least come to Murray Park on Thursday and see what the scenario actually is. -
Re that Celtic-man: The poster with a bit of background info says McKenna isn't involved here. EDIT: Matter of fact, it is actually said that was a smoke-screen to get Green's asking price.

1) Do you assume that in our current state we will look for unreasonable fees? What's reasonable for Davis? 2m? 2) Can't understand that line of though at all. 3) What, you mean they would force a player to stay on? That has worked in the world of football before, has it? -

Again, what should Green have told them? His hands are tight and he can solely look on what the SPL and SFA decide. As for not being about, I would assume that Green & Co. have their hands full with SFA, SPL, and documents stuff ... and the players are due back this week anyway. "Management" might include McCoist, who is still on holiday, IIRC. You can see plots and horror at every corner, but you can also look for reasonable explanations. Either might be false, but that does not stop you from looking. -

Said it before, say it again: these players could all have signed up for the newco (if somesuch was needed) and left before the end of the months still. No-one would question their motives, given the state we are in. No, some would probably be applauded for getting it done this way and helping the club with a transfer fee. This is the cheap way out, a way that eases more money into the player's coffers, as their agents will trash out fine signing-on fees for their "free agents". -
Obviously, he talked to Green before, as it was said. On a sidenote, we have to hand in documents by Friday to the SFA, stating our facts and figures and showing that we are fit and proper for their membership - oh the irony. I wonder whether any new owner will meet that deadline, or whether the SFA wouild be kind enough to extend it. The way this goes on, we'll have a club owned by Rangers men at the end of the months, a club without many players, and a club with no membership in any association and league - for the time being.
-
This constant falsification of facts ... ... will make sure that common people will view it as the end of Rangers FC. Scum media doing their job.
-
Buying the club from Green is one thing. Keep it running for a season or two something different. Unless they have the backing of someone like McColl or Kennedy, well, you know the rest. Obviously, there's been a lot of rumour-mongering this week about Green & Co. not able to pay the players and whatnot. We'll see in due course. The pressure put on him not only by the media, SFA, and SPL, but now by the support and the players too is frightening. For essentially, he couldn't have done much else than what he did so far.

I have to say that I wrote that before reading about Bomber's/Smith'/McColl's supposed new bid. I just made some sort oc consoling sense to me ... NB: I would assume that a) McColl could bankroll us for the time being, while b) Smith / Laudrup et al could galvanize the support into a membership/funding scheme to pay for the uipkeep as well. -
About 1,000 FFers reading that article right now. I ... am off to bed now. Maybe this June 27th is not just the dies Iovis Statoris (Anniversary of Jupiter the Stayer (on the battlefield)), but will at last bring some hope back to the legions.

Now, could this be a set up to essentially force Green & Co. out? Like ... these Rangers people amongst the players have talked to Walter and once they are gone, they are still free agents for some time. Thus, in case Walter & Co. takes over from Green, they can sign on for free again. Just a thought. Anyway ... if that isn't the case, I am simply deeply disappointed in the Rangers men amongst those players, who easily (yes, it is that simple) could have signed up and still moved on till the end of August. Now, as it stands, they not only leave a whole in the teamsheet, but a far deeper and much more needed gap in the finances. Just noted amms post. I for one expected the players to arrive on Thursday for training and talks. You (amms) suggest that the Rangers men have talked to Ally and still moved on? That logic defies me. As it stands, the players have not talked to Green at all so far .... for he could hardly tell them any encouraging things. And much of that is not of his making either. -
One thing is for certain. We will definitely go through a very rough period, possibly not having a league to play in for a season. We need people with the will and the stamina to see us through this and I for one am not sure whether non-Rangers people will have the stamina or guts. Still you have to ask why these people do not talk with Green & Co. before having a bid.

You wonder who tells the press such info. Have the players their own peoplegiving press info away? Do they get a warm handshake from the journos for handing over such info? So far, no surprises bar McCabe and Aluko. Thanks for the memories! (I will not bring myself to praise nor scald you more.) What annoys me most is the cheap way they leave through the back door without facing up to Ally and Co.. -
Instead of revenge should we show them how it's done?

BTW, when I write about others hating us, I exclude the Scum. They live in a different dimension entirely. -
Well, I hope your "good authority" is right.

People closer to Rangers' home may see it differently, but IMHO not many people out there "hate" us. What fills them is a lot of envy and that grand feeling of having the power to get one over us after years of dominating them. The feeling in England towards ManU or Chelsea will be different, since they have so much more "grand teams" of old and new, greater competition and local derbies to disperse their focus. Furthermore, all these talk of "sporting integrity" from top to bottom is just the normal wetting of pants, since should Rangers drop into Div 1, they will become instant promotion challengers to the resident usual suspects. They all see the gold (what little there is) of the SPL at the end of the SFL season, so they will not want to jeopardize that by voting Rangers in (if somesuch is actually needed). The very same would be true for any English League and hence, the resident usual suspects for end of season top-spot-fighting will say no. So in this respect, only the lowest tier of the SFL will have an open place for us, if the rest is promoted upwards to fill our vacancy. BTW, we will watch a neat fight between Dundee und Dunfermline about that Club 12 slot. We'll see how much sporting integrity is worth here.
