Police drop probe into AGM comment by Rangers chief
Darthter replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Another possible Police investigation, instigated by a fan that has been thrown "oot the door" as nothing untoward has been found to support the allegation......why would the SFA be interested? -

I watched McKay several times @ Morton last year - he was poor. Didn't look interested a lot of the time.

The high level version of the plan was clear - "Give me your ST cash & not the club" There were always questions & uncertainty about the finer details of how his plan was gonna work. After the club came out & categorically stated they weren't gonna give over security, and that they wouldn't accept ST renews from a 3rd party, there was NO response from Team King - that's when it went silent. Many fans would have been left in limbo, not knowing what was going to happen - were they going to get a ST or not. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/6929-club-statement I would expect a spike in ST sales after 8th Aug, when the Ibrox1972 plan fails.

I think DK could have got more folk supporting him & continuing support if his plan was better thought out & it was conveyed clearer to the fans. I think there is a large number of fans who didn't renew coz they didn't trust the board or DK. Now that DK has gone silent I think there will be many who will abandon him, and renew their tickets at some point before the season starts.

A very harsh assessment.....but one that I can't disagree with!!! How much of a chance will Callum Gallagher get next season behind Boyd, Miller, Clark, Daly & probably Shiels???? What more does Robbie Crawford need to do??? We have seen some of the youngsters get the odd game over the past 2 seasons, and they have not looked out of place, yet they are generally unable to keep a place in the 1st team. Guys like Gasparotto have done well played, yet have to watch as new guys like McGregor & possibly Zaliukas are brought in.

That's the problem.....your not getting enough numbers!!! ST are still selling, all be it slowly. People will still buy match-day tickets. People are still buying merchandise. The Club/Company is still trading. DK and his plans have only slowed the flow of cash into the club....not stopped it.

Rangers v Hibs in Challenge Cup 1st Round
Darthter replied to Tannochsidebear's topic in Rangers Chat
Regardless of the situation we are in, The Challenge cup is still a trophy, and one that the club has NEVER won. After this season, it is hopefully one that we will never have a chance of winning again. For a club like Rangers to have 3 attempts at winning this, and so far failing twice is the truly embarrassing thing. -
He certainly travelled up north with the team.... I will be very interesting to see how he responds after his loan spell. I saw him a few times for Morton last season - didn't impress at all.

Summer transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours
Darthter replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
We need to remember where we are playing though.....When was the last time a £5m+ player was brought into the Scottish game??? We simply don't have the financial muscle within our game to be paying those sorts of prices and we don't have the asset values to cover the potential debt incurred with bringing those types of players in. Our top league doesn't even have a sponsor FFS!!! We don't have a choice these days. We have to look at resale value of players.....we have to look at bringing in good value, improve them, then move them on @ a profit. Ceptic signed Fraser Forster when he was a 3rd or 4th choice kepper for £2m....now he's being touted for £8.5m and a regular in the England squad. Hooper signed for £2.5m and was sold for £5m. Wanyama signed for £900k and sold for a reported £12.5m. THAT'S how you do transfer business!!!! -
Summer transfer window: Official ins/outs and transfer rumours
Darthter replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
It is this very attitude that basically got us in the mess we find ourselves...... It's one thing paying a high price for a player if that is the "market value".....we have a history of paying over that market value in order to bring these types of players to the club. When we look to sell on, no-one is willing to match their wages or come anywhere near what we paid - therefore losing our club money. Take Ryan Gould for example......if things go according to play for Sporting Lisbon, they will play/develop him for a couple of seasons, then sell on for an awful lot more than the £3m they have paid - I believe he has a £60m release clause. Lee Wallace....signed from Hearts for £1.5m, easily our best player - we were willing to accept £1.2m (I think).....which no-one was willing to offer. IMHO, it's not so much about spending big, it's about spending wisely - getting in players who will retain value to the club. -

DU have a history/reputation for bringing youngsters through the ranks, then selling on for a decent fee, all while maintaining their spot in the top division - granted some season are better than others. If we were to sell McLeod, does ANYONE honestly expect us to get £3m for him??? We were willing to take £1.5 for our best player last season.... RFC have a history of buying high, selling low - that MUST change. Ally must have faith in some of these youngsters other wise the youth program is a complete waste of money. Whats the point in investing in the youth academy, and those players when there is virtually no chance of getting into the 1st team. The past 2 season have been the ideal chance to bring players through & prepare/develop them for the top tier. So far we have McLeod and latterly Aird who have held down regular spots. Plenty have appeared but few have remained. -
Of possible interested.... http://www.lse.co.uk/AllNews.asp?code=m5wzhi25&headline=Nova_Resources_Shares_Suspended_As_Results_Are_Delayed Nova resources has close links to Chuck (previously a director), and to Chris Morgan (current director) & who's name pops up from time to time in connection with BPH & Margarita holdings. Not sure if BS has connections as well.

Stunned striker Andy Little: I still can't believe...

Any pace Weir had was long gone, but he more than made up for it with his ability to read a game and anticipate the oppositions movements....- 47 replies

Stunned striker Andy Little: I still can't believe...
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That's all well & good, but Miller is nothing but average without his pace......and that's what folk have been getting excited about. Folk were crying out for a striker with pace!!! Complaining that Daly is too immobile etc Jig up front is not the answer. Jig in defence is not the answer. Jig in the 1st team is not the answer.- 47 replies

Stunned striker Andy Little: I still can't believe...
Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
So Jig's lack of pace wouldn't be an issue as a striker??? One of Miller's best "assets" is his pace, which folk have been welcoming back. The main issue with Little is that he's done very little of actually impress folk. He's had a few good games, and scored a few goals but not really excited folk. Little v Daly - I'd take Daly Little v Miller - I'd take Little.- 47 replies

Flower of Scotland is most definitely NOT anti-English.....it is however predominantly about English oppression of the Scottish people & how Scotland will rise above it "and be that nation again". God Save the Queen on the other hand, does contain very clear Anti-Scottish sentiment.....

Darthter replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
In 7 years Little made 65 appearances & scored 33 goals (according to Wikipedia) - not a bad return In 1 season, Daly made 34 appearances & scored 20 goals. I think Little was a very middle of the road player, but I think Daly is the better option of the 2.- 47 replies
