Sebo Officially Comments On Where He'll Play Next Year
johnnyk replied to Beattie's topic in Rangers Chat
I do agree he has skill as most of us would (this has been done to death on here many times) he has hardly done it in a Rangers jersey and I think he has had enough chances and in his preferred position. The likes of Gow I agree should get a chance at least and would be on every time before adam...........but buffel not for me get rid asap. We are very shrewd which show's in the figures just released but if WS thought he was good enough i'm sure we would pay the £500k or what is due but as he doesn't play him and has told Bain or whoever to get rid of him he obviously doesn't think so......... -

same here m8, he's done well at right back but would like to see him at centre half. his long balls and passing are typical centre half i.e. pish........... -

Panathinaikos 1 : 1 Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll

only joking he's a great player IMO  I think he's picked mainly on his previous contributions or goals in Europe this season but if WS can't see he's done virtually nothing for a while then he will keep picking him. I'd like to see Gow given a chance out there but anyone at present will offer more than he does IMO...... -

I think barry's face after adam took out a player while lying on his arse said it all. he acts like he is 10 years old or less with his antics and i'm glad he's out the LC final as he would've probably played from the start!! he could actually be a very good player if he worked at his fitness and cut out the childish acts......... it must be hard for other players watching this and not even getting quoted or close to the first team..... Cuellar, McGregor and Novo all done well IMO. Barry played well in the later of the 2nd half. Papac is consistent also. -
sad to see and hope he can get himself sorted out soon.........

sebo and buffel will hopefully be elsewhere next season, we need far better quality than them IMO but good luck to both of them when they move on  -
FRANK LAMPARD says Rangers can cope with the red-hot Athens atmosphere and get a positive result against Panathinaikos like his Chelsea side did at Olympiacos. England midfielder Lamps came on for the last few minutes of the Blues' 0-0 Champions League draw at the Karaiskaki Stadium last night. Home fans in the capacity crowd made the ground a cauldron of noise and Gers are likely to face something similar at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium tomorrow. But Lampard believes Walter Smith's men have what it takes to handle fans' intimidation tactics and get the scoreline they need to advance to the last 16 of the UEFA Cup. A scoring draw would be enough to put Pana out on the away goals rule after the teams shared a goalless 90 minutes in Glasgow last Wednesday. Lampard said: "It is the type of atmosphere in Athens that every top player has to enjoy and Rangers have top players in their side. "You can't let the Greek fans have a detrimental effect on your game and you have to turn the way they act into a positive. "Even though the fans here support their teams very strongly, any player worth his salt will want to perform well in front of them. "The atmosphere will push them on and I don't think the Rangers players will have any problem." Lampard has first-hand experience of playing against Rangers, having taken part in Chelsea's 2-0 pre-season defeat to the Light Blues at Ibrox last summer. He has continued to monitor their progress since and points to the 3-0 Champions League win at Lyon in October as proof of what they can do in Europe. Lampard added: "I'm a Rangers fan actually and I definitely feel they can get past Panathinaikos and into the next round. "The progress the club has made in the Champions League this season shows exactly what they are capable of. "That is especially the case on their travels. We all saw what they did in Lyon and because of what happened then, I see no reason why Rangers can't advance. "Panathinaikos are a very strong side and similar to Olympiacos in that they are defensive away from home but they don't come out too much at home either. "They won't attempt to win by four or five goals. Instead, they'll try to wait for the right time to score and that really gives Rangers a chance if they start well." http://www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1245887,00.html

1-0 for the Gers...........

I do agree we shouldn't be too defensive in the SPL but you need the right players at the back to start with. Weir and papac are quite slow and I think that would catch us out with that team but if we had better players might be a goer. Webster, Cueller and another might be better. I prefer to see full backs getting forward though and ones who can cross a decent ball, again we could do with better there as well. I think 3 in the middle is also a waste as there's no need for a defensive midfielder in the SPL IMO. Looking forward to having a pint when you get through, I'll try and get some footage of Buffel playing well for Rangers for you, it shouldn't take long and it will easily fit on 1 dvd as there won't be a lot of it :fish: Cheers m8

not having a go here m8 but i don't like this formation at all......... 4-4-2 for me
-
it's all about opinions m8, your team with buffel in it would win bugger all IMO...........
-
i'm not saying that, I just think he is the best striker we have in our squad and that's what I would like him to play
-
i actually find the steak mince pies no bad, although i've usually had a few pints before I eat them
-
nothing wrong with fresh air shots :fish:
-
to give him some credit he hit the target on most/all of his shots which you want from any striker IMO.....
-
well one has been here for a few seasons and been the top scorer the other was here for a bit longer and is a legend but was also in a far better team than we have now IMO. I'm not slagging McCoist off here I loved the guy. you can't compare really IMO, both score/scored goals for fun when given the right supply. IMO boyd could be our best/top striker/scorer we've had since coisty but we need to play to his strengths to do that but that will never happen.
-
i agree he needs to start mis-hitting the ball more, maybe more of his shots will go in then
-
just like our best goalscorer ever
-
don't read it then m8
-
IMO boyd is a better player than cousin, your opinion is different fine. No one is right or wrong here just people's opinion. I like a goal scorer/poacher and don't mind what else he does as it's a team game and the it's mainly the midfields job to create chances for the strikers for me, maybe just too old fashioned!!!
-
If we played to his stengths like you say give him more/better supply he requires then he would be top scorer every season IMO, but with Walter's tactics I doubt he will change to do that. He can/could improve his all round play of course but would it increase/decrease his scoring stats if doing so? Would you want someone who scores 30 goals a season or someone who scores 15 and works a bit harder, I know who I would take.

Can't believe he doesn't start more, best striker we have at the club, would get a start at every club in the SPL IMO. People keep slagging him off for not doing it against the 'bigger' clubs but he's not exactly had a chance has he? I've not got the stats but I doubt he's played many minutes against top euro opposition, but he still gets slagged for not scoring against them and he's not going to learn much if he doesn't get a chance against them. If we're not gonna play him let him go as it's not doing Rangers or Boyd any good.
