  1. Cheers rbr! Standing on the shoulders of giants etc! I was trying to remember who brought it up and in which thread, but gave up eventually. On a flight home, but will get on the case ASAP tonight with a separate thread (I'm hopeless on this phone)!
  2. Cool. I'll start a separate thread tonight when I get home to give it a bit higher profile. Thanks Craig.
  3. I see The Gers Forum raised £1000 in 24 hours to buy 2 x Rangers First Lifetime Memberships. I know there are lots of RST members on Gersnet (myself included) and some of them might not want to support a rival scheme, but RF seem to allow Clubs to join, whereas the RST don't as far as I know. We'd have to sort out who collects the cash and how any future votes would be handled, but I'd be up for it. So, is there any appetite for a one-off donation as a Gersnet collective, or is it easier for everyone to do their own thing if they feel inclined to support one of the fan ownership schemes?
  4. How can you say there's no video evidence? If your point is that we shouldn't rush to judgement regarding criminality, fine, I accept that. However, I still condemn what I saw on that uTube video, whether it turns out to be assault or otherwise. Do you?
  5. I've watched a video in which someone pushes back the female employee who staggers back two or three steps. Even if no charges follow, it doesn't make it acceptable in my eyes.
  6. I'm sorry my attempt at humour failed so miserably for you, but thanks for the feedback. Perhaps I'll try terse and abrasive next time. The video, subsequent comments of SoS and the involvement of Police Scotland are enough to convince me that some degree of assault took place. Whether that's beyond reasonable doubt I'll leave to the lawyers to decide, but IMO it's incontrovertible that their actions were a stupid and profoundly unhelpful distraction.
  7. There aren't many "neutral" institutional shareholders left and only River and Mercantile would make enough of a difference to make it worthwhile. They've already sold some to King and I'm sure that he'll have an agreement with them that they'll vote the right way. I guess someone could make them an offer they couldn't refuse, but I doubt it.
  8. I've seen the uTube footage referred to in post #191. It's shot from the inside of the foyer and you can hear a woman complaining about having had her hair pulled. Unless the Board have set up some sort of black ops unit faking footage to discredit their opponents, then it's clear to me that some fans crossed the line of what's acceptable in a peaceful protest. Craig Houston also seems to be convinced of that judging by his comments on the matter.
  9. Fair enough Pete. It's not easy to say what any of us would have done had we been standing next to the lads who were forcing their way in. I'd like to think that I would have said or done something though, especially if I could see that a woman and a pensioner were being assaulted.
  10. They were trying to do the job they were paid to do. This wasn't some romantic, well planned and marshalled UCS-style work-in. This was a bunch of young hot-heads trying to force entry to Argyle House where they had no legitimate right to be. The idea that it was infiltrated by non fans is laughable - just apologists being afraid to confront unacceptable behaviour from within our own ranks. All the neds succeeded in doing was deflect some attention from the official protest and give ammunition to those who would want to do us harm at every opportunity. If they were infiltrators, why did no genuine Bears try and stop them? No, there's a world of difference between that behaviour and a group of people, say, refusing to leave the ground at the end of a match. To be honest, I probably wouldn't support that at the moment either, but as a last resort it might be justifiable. I just think we need to be unequivocal about what happened at Argyle House. It was wrong and those responsible should turn themselves in or be pointed out to the Police.
  11. Someone on Twitter has just pointed out that L&G have sold also (buyer not disclosed). http://markets.ft.com/research/Markets/Tearsheets/Business-profile?s=RFC:LSE Listed as selling 2.1m in the movers section.
  12. Thanks Zappa. I don't have an official announcement, but it's mentioned in the CRO interview with Colin Kingsnorth from Laxey. http://www.thecoplandroad.org/2013/08/laxey-partners-speak-to-cro.html?m=1 As for Miton, the BBC reported that the "sold up" because they no longer saw value in their investment, but I've not done the arithmetic that you have. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30667547.app
  13. If you want to be charitable, the AIM (the market for smaller companies that RIFC is listed on) is "lightly regulated". Otherwise it's a snake pit. However, I'm sure King's preferred replacement NOMAD will be particularly interested in ensuring that the rules are being adhered to.
  14. As FS said, normally the NOMAD would ensure that the outgoing Board departed without the need for the EGM if it was a done deal (which I think it probably is). Knowing our luck, they'll be allowed to hang on for as long as possible. I just hope they don't buy £10m of Sports Direct vouchers in the meantime...
