  1. No worries Bruno. My brother in law is a Possil man. Penalties dont just means those fines that you refuse to pay. It can also mean when you get a free kick from that dot thing inside the 16 yard box. Feckin confusing at times Bruno but life can be eh? ??
  2. I'm not taking anything away from him. I think he is excellent, and I agree he still has to put the ball in the net from the penalties. However scoring penalties has never been seen as a prerequisite for an out and out striker. Scoring a sufficient amount of goals (without penalties) has been for a Rangers striker.
  3. I dont see either Miller or Waghorn as 'out and out' strikers despite Waghorn's impressive goals tally (albeit with a big chunk of penalties in there). An out and out striker with us should easily be on 20 plus goals at this stage of the season, without penalties. Although I still really like Waghorn.
  4. 6 month contract?? The manager obviously sees a risk there somewhere. So good deal - if it works then great - if not then no real harm done.
  5. Nobody is disputing the song WAS about him originally - many decades ago. Ask anybody over the last 5 or 6 decades if they are celebrating Fullarton they will ask you WTF you are talking about.
  6. Why point out who 'Billy' was when you know it has no relevance whatsoever as to why Rangers fans have adopted the song over the last 60 years or more? Nothing at all to do with Fullarton - it was akin to the likes of the 'guff' that Spiers and the likes try to spin. The 'Billy' reference was adopted for the same reason that 'I'd rather be a Billy than a Tim' was sung in the 60s. But you knew that which is all the more confusing what your comment was trying to achieve.
  7. If you think for a minute that anybody ever gives Billy Fullerton a single thought when they sing that song or even have done for decades then you are seriously deluded. Generations have sung the song as a tribal anthem pure and simple (and I believe you know it all too well!). The song was a song of Protestant tribalism adopted by the Bridgeton Derry in defiance against the likes of the Carlton Tongs and the Cumbie. I'm not in the position of glorifying gangs but as someone originally from the Toll it still gives me great pride that defiance is what still allows the red, white and blue to hang proudly from the windows in that little pocket of Glasgow's East End surrounded by that mob on either side. So to make out it was sung in support of fascism or wife beating is just plain pathetic crap.
  8. Hilarious absolutely, but in a pathetic type way. Coming from generations of Bridgeton folk I piss myself laughing when I read this sort of stuff.
  9. No I'm not. I don't know where you drew that conclusion from, but anyway........you obviously believe that the only way to add to\improve a side is by spending millions , or as much as you can get out of the board. I don't believe that Warburton works that way. He will look for 'enough' to get what he wants but not necessarily everything the board can offer him. So you wont ever know in my view what the board were willing to put up, but it won't stop you believing 'rumours elsewhere' :-) and creating your own.
  10. You're making a big assumption that Warburton sees spending millions as a way of solving the current slump. I personally don't believe that he does. So unless you are suggesting that King forces him to spend exactly what is 'available' how will you ever know what the board has to spend? Bottom line is - you won't. But the shallow minded that believe everything is always solved be throwing money at it will quite happily use it to discredit King as it suits their agenda.
  11. Rab, Lets just pretend the Christmas fairy has arrived and asked you to nominate the board of your choice, who would it be. You spent long enough with your merry little band of men on here trying to rubbish King before he came through, and it's clear that you (and you are not alone) can't let go of it. However it's easy to be negative without adding anything positive. The stage is yours - who should it be?
  12. I don't believe that 'big game mentality' is a calculated choice. I don't believe you can look at a calendar and say "I will get up for that one, but not so much that one". I believe it comes from a number of other more emotional factors e.g. hatred for the other side, being the underdog and being out to prove people wrong, fear of losing and the consequences, adrenaline build up and hype as the game approaches. Sometimes it can kick in as you walk out the tunnel with the passion of the crowd. But if its not in your belly emotionally when the time comes, then its not going to be there in full regardless. I would imagine as the days pass over the coming week our players will draw on a number of emotional factors to be fully up for it. That's what Warburton was referring to when he immediately spoke of drawing on the negativity towards us this week as an incentive. We also have a part to play as a crowd. Create an absolute cauldron as they walk out the tunnel and lets see how the other lot handle it and how our players react. Some of our players will never have experienced what they are about to and it is sure to create an adrenaline rush as they walk out. I'm sure come the day it wont be attitude that will be our enemy.
  13. I'd love to see the big striker from Skonto Riga get signed. He looks like he is an ideal focul point for the makings of a strike partnership with A.N. Other.
  14. Don't ask a player with vision in one eye only to be your edge of the box marker at a corner. Trying to watch the ball and the man behind you is hard enough for a player with full peripheral vision. Its doubly difficult when the player also switches off. Common sense and basics I'm afraid.
  15. Is the big Skonto Riga striker Vladislavs Gutkovskis still on trial with us does anyone know?
  16. The 'Man at C&A' site was down earlier too.
  17. Richard Wilson is carrying the story.
  18. Warburton has said of players "if they don't show me a real desire to be at this Club they won't be here". The same applies to the manager. I think he is great but if he decides to move on, then we move on regardless. I think he will stay though. Warburton sees a far bigger picture than moving to a club just because its just off The North End Road.
  19. I've always found Adrian Durham and Gab Marcotti on Talksport very refreshing when it comes to them. They hit them with home truths that no Scottish journalist dare utter.
  20. Important in what sense? I'm not negating your statement - I'm just not fully on board regarding what he offers, given his headline billing when he came.
  21. Give DJ credit where its due. He wouldn't back down from his 'crawling out from under rocks' comment when pressed by Keevins. "You can'y say that about people in the mhedia and journalists Derek" - "Oh yes I can and I stand by it. I don't need to name names Hugh - they know who they are. Its every time there's a chance to have a go at Rangers they come crawling out". I also liked his "No one likes us we don't care!".
  22. Maybe we should change the words for a week - The scum bhoys have a dream, To help their sorry team, Strip our titles, no shit, then add to their haul, They keep banging on, but when will it dawn? 54 TITLES WE'RE STILL GOING STRONG........ all together now..... Four boys had a dream.....
  23. Maybe we should put a keyboard asterix on our jerseys for every 10 titles that we've won - just above the RFC badge? ***** - wait a minute I've seen that somewhere before.
  24. A couple of comments on here along the lines of "If we ultimately win the appeal....." Have we heard if anyone is likely to appeal?
