  1. Man I'm really hoping they can make Gomis happen somehow. This lad's a convincing player but 12k a week is loads.
  2. Jesus I didn't mention in the initial post it was written by a fan. Stupid, sorry everybody.
  3. That is very true. Anyway, this was never supposed to be a factual article researched by a journalist. It is made clear this is nothing more than a rant and opinions of a single person. Not meaning to defend his view, just for the record. Still think it's interesting to see how and moreover why somebody is pretty much turning against the Gers after all this.
  4. He's delivered notable performances so far and I don't see why he shouldn't keep it up. Beyond that he seems like a lad who can lead a team, that is very indeed needed right now. What's in the past is in the past, I have no antipathy towards him.
  5. This kid is unparalleled for many years to come, even the most reckless individuals don't abuse him as a trademark for comparison with some new talents.
  6. There have probably been 10 new Maradonas over the years.
  7. That is patently mental. No one will want to watch football if you need higher education to follow the league.
  8. Most of the video's are probably sadly enough gonna show his tragic penalty in the WC final '94. I'm always careful with these comparisons. I remember this one Argentinian kid Andres D'Allesandro who played for German side Wolfburg about 10 years ago. He was prospected to be the new Maradona. Snap, never heard of him again. Where does all that need to compare current players with legends come from anyway? If a kid's good, he's good. Can't be bothered with analyzing similarites to players that came years and years before him.
  9. Unfortunately I do not mate, sorry. It's in the current edition which came out yesterday, they don't seem to have put it on their website just yet. But yeah, it is a personal opinion of a fan on his life as a bluenose. I'd be more then happy to translate the whole article if anybody can be bothered to read it. It is just pretty long in total.
  10. I guess this article is supposed to offer a personal view on the situation. But nontheless, gotta have his facts right I agree with you.
  11. Sounds annyoing enough. Especially given the chance you might actually just want to cheer a bit.

    Welcome Thread

Welcome blinky, glad to see you excited about this place!
  13. That's kind of what I thought too mate. A bit pathetic all that.
  14. "In Scotland at least, much of the criminalisation of football fans has come in the guise of the fight against sectarianism." Indeed. While the heart of the matter surely is fair enough, threatening 5 years in prison for a song seems to go a little overboard mate. Probably all deterrence.
  15. Just read through a fairly interesting article that got me thinking. I found this one in German footie magazine "11FREUNDE" about the Bears' current situation. To be honest, by the start of reading I could tell this was going to be a pleasent anecdote on a lad finding his favourite club and standing by it despite hard times. But not at all. There are a couple of crucial questions the anonymous author reflects about, one being "Is this still the same club I'm supporting after the insolvency?". And then suddenly this guy burst out with an unexpectedly daring theory. He states that during the late 90s, after having won 9 consecutive league titles, the Gers attracted "assholes, who couldn't distinguish between 4-2-3-1 and 4711" creating an atmosphere of overdrawn expactation. To fullfill these the club, in the shape of Malcolm Murray, had no choice but bending tax laws to extremes. This whole aricle is a rather depressing read as it goes on and on explaining why the club we used to be died, the new club being a bastardization of all the Rangers sand/ stood for. The comparison he draws is a loved relative exiting the casket in a vampire flick. Furthermore he thinks the Gers willfully threw any dignity that was left right out the window when Green accused other Scottish clubs of Anti- Protestantism and therefore not longer allowing us in the SPL. Just wanted to share this and wondering what you're thoughts on this chaps opinions are.
  16. I'd love Ally to pick Gomis up. He's a solid lad that is also flexible in midfield and after 150 SPL games he knows which way the wind blows. Should add some balance to our game. Maybe with an experienced player like him there's some pressure on our young midfielders like Hutton and McLeod, pushing them a bit.
  17. His footwear just looks like a solid pair of 1930s footie boots, without the studs though. Maybe the young man just has a taste for the old school.
  18. Good stuff, Frankie. Interesting read. I guess what's not going so well for Green is the communication, repectively the lack of it. There's plenty open questions to fans, first and foremost ownership, angle on league restructuring etc. So either these questions haven't been answered within the organisation or the answers weren't communicated sufficiently.
  19. I agree tango, going through the leagues seems like a more decent setting for a comeback. Not that I'd care for anybody holding a promotion through league reconstruction against us, just doesn't seem right. It's another year to properly regain strength before going into SPL firing on all cylinders.
  20. Im kind of confused with this embrago. With - let's say - Faure coming in now being over 18, is he not allowed to play before Jan 2014?
  21. Id be keen to have a go. I know Im the new kid, Id love to get a chance anyway
  22. And why would they? I guess you want to second guess investing money in a company when you invested in it before and it became insolvent.
  23. People do the funniest shit when theyre bored
