  1. And you didn't even get round to complimenting him on a hairstyle that is a credit to the founders of the club.
  2. Not at all. King has succeeded in the first phase of his campaign - because, let's make no mistake, this is a campaign, not an attempt at a single knock-out blow - which is to destabilise the board. The board now is much more toxic than it was this time last month (30% loans anyone?) and whilst we don't know what is being said behind the scenes amongst the pack of them, the fact that one of them is wading around throwing threats left, right and centre show that the pressure is geting to him. King has now taken control of the agenda - why else would the board have agreed to make a public announcement prior to the renewal of Season tickets? It seems to me that Dk is positioning himself so that in four weeks, when their plans are published, he either a) can fully expose the board for their incomptence and weakness and force them into an early share offering or b) knowing the board's plans, make a stronger case to fans not to buy STs by presenting his own more beneficial plans . The board can say what they like, but if their toxicity continues to grow and the fans refuse to buy season tickets *that* is when it's game over.
  3. Quite so. We're lucky to have him. Who knows how much interest we may otherwise have had to pay on this loan if we hadn't had Mr Easdale fighting our corner.
  4. Do you think King is some sort of naive country girl fresh off the bus? He will not give any credence to anything this board says without something concrete to back it up. Just because there are a number of gullible fans who seeme to believe anything they are told, there's no reason to think King is one of them. You don't become a multi-millionaire by being stupid.
  5. Did Mr Easedale's lawyer provide a list four letter words which can be used to describe him?
  6. he clearly meant it as well - ok, in the same way you mean to get a hole in one every time you hit a golfball, but still...
  7. I hadn't heard about Rovers giving 10k to the kids charity. Pure quality - and if we *do* lose to them tonight, I won't be too bothered, tbh.
  8. That's an, ehhm, interesting take on it, Andy. Could I bother you to maybe expand on that? How are we to blame for the state of the game?
  9. shoredbear, you might want to take an alka seltzer, mate, sleep it off an apologise tomorrow morning? You're way out of line, mate.
  10. Here's the thing, though; seemingly it was the clubs (and we know which ones) themselves who wanted the semi-final and final venues determined as early as possible - why? nobody will say - but we know it was to guarantee a payday for the Tims whether or not the reached the final. They needed a major stadium for the final, so either Ibrox or Parkhead, but there was a snowball's chance in hell that they would give the final to Rangers - even though the likelihood of us reaching it was, at that time, greatly less than Celtic reaching it (and thus getting a home game). Dundee Utd had every chance to complain but remained strangely silent until now. Shower of orange bastards, so they are As for Thompson - a vile wee man and no doubt.
  11. Bluebear is absolutely correct. A serious breach of the Data Protection act is liable to a fine of up to half a million pounds and may, depending on what is done with the information, constitute a criminal offense. I would write a wee letter to the Information Commissioner: http://ico.org.uk/complaints/handling As for sending sherrif officers to your parents house, I'd be fairly relaxed about the likelihood of that. They only have powers to enforce a court order or deliver papers so if they did go to your parents house they'd have exactly the same powers to interrogate your folks as I or next door's Beagle would have.
  12. I don't know because this board, after ten days, still haven't given out any further information on whether they have accepted the new loan offer and the reason they haven't given out information is that they are opaque, untrustworthy and secretive. What part of that don't you get? Now, as a big supporter of this shower, perhaps you can answer the question I asked; why do you think they haven't publicly stated whether they have accepted the new loan offer at vastly preferential rates to the loan they first connived at?
  13. yes, but if you'd just trusted Sky they would, after 120 days, fixed all their problems and sent round an engineer with an upgrade.
  14. because celebrating winning this league is the same as the US celebrating a military victory over Grenada but not celebrating is disrespectful to teams who, to the man, have fought hard and well against us and the contradiction is doing your head in? You and 50,000 others, mate.
  15. Ayup. True dat. It's a sad and eternal fact of life that there will always be people who get very upset by other people of a similar social or economic status getting off their backsides and doing something to improve the general lot. The reasons are obvious: the action of the 'doers' exposes the inaction of the 'complainers' and results in feelings of failure and inadequacy on teh part of the latter. Coupled with this is a strain of personality which is so profoundly insecure that they have to cling on to their version of events, their choice of investment vehicle or their 'messiah' and are as incapable as they are unwilling to view these things through the prism of what it best for the club, rather than what best assuages their own inadequacies and insecurities. And of course, we mustn't forget those who only ever post on the one subject - and that subject ain't football.
  16. Couldn't agree more - so I'm not sure why you're posting that?
  17. That is, at best, disingenuous. A football club is not like any other company. If a fan is unhappy with the product he or she doesn't just go to the competitor club and start following them. In the case of a football club, not only are the fans are the biggest asset, they are also the only constant. Staff, players and directors come and go, but the fans remain. One would have to ask why a company board wouldn't jump at the opportunity of placing its most expensive assets into the safest hands possible to ensure the continuation and safeguarding of those assets.
  18. You either know the answer or you don't know the answer. If you know the answer, be a stout fellow and do share. If you don't know the answer, one can only guess that you are asking the question rhetorically in order to support the argument that the board may very well be considering the cheaper offer. In that case, perhaps you'd be able to suggest a reason why, after 10 full days, they still haven't accepted it?
  19. I'm reminded of Rob Brydon's pitiful taxi driver character who, no matter how obvious the fact is that he's being humiliated, cuckolded and taken to the cleaners, simply refuses to face reality and lives in a constant state of toe-curlingly, embarrassing denial. Don't know why that sprang to mind.
  20. You might want to re-read that section; TE is saying it about Crighton, not King
  21. Not only that but you have to imagine that these characters are now sailing close to the edge of legality. As far as I am aware, a company director has the legal duty to act in the best interests of the company at all times. That's not an optional extra or a conditional add-on, mind you. It's a legal requirement under the law of the land. So, if they are knowingly taking a short term loan at less favourable rates than is otherwise commercially available, simply to reward themselves, then they are acting in their own interests and not in the interests of the company. That, to me, would be a clear breach of the law.
  22. The Green Brigade?
  23. Aye, but. He wasn't asking serious questions of anybody. There was no truth-seeking or interrogation here. If he genuinely believed Admin2 was a possibility he should have done some digging and fact finding and kept his mouth shut until he had something to back that up - apart from "some accountants" (and anyone aware of the professional scene in Glasgow will know that 90% of accountants are Celtic fans anyway). Rather than investigating and enquiring, as a journalist is supposed to do, he preferred to pose a suggestive question which served no purpose other than fostering the climate of uncertainty and discord. The man is a hypocrite and should be done under the trades descriptions act for calling himself a journalist.
