Ongoing new manager discussion and speculation
trublusince1982 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Disagree. He went on to say rangers fans need to get with reality. He said teams with bigger budgets cannot be beaten. There was no ifs or buts about what he said. He said Rangers fans should accept getting beat and shouldn't expect to compete with celtic. He said Aberdeen know their place and who they are unkike us. It was plain and simple. -

Think that's all fair buster but would add that too many are not accounting for the consequences of appointing Mccinnes. How can you build a club as we are doing with a manager who has zero style, zero ambition, and zero belief he can win the league? He has already clearly stated he cannot be expected to compete against clubs with bigger budgets? How is this safe? Is it safe to say we cannot compete? Mccinnes isn't safe hands. I have absolutely no idea why people keep saying this. It's not safe to bore customers and build a club on mediocrity, its not safe to tell players you should get beat today as our opponents have more money, especially when the manager has already slagged our fans beliefs and expectations, telling us the most successful domestic club in history ,we are wrong. Is it not dangerous to forcefully change a mentality that has seen success for 140 odd years? Is it not dangerous to build mediocrity as our foundations? His teams have zero style and literally zero hope of attaining any decent level. Keep the money and let the youth coaches run the first team and atleast let youth and first team link up. No point hiding behind mccinnes, if this is our reality we should face up to it not waste money trying to disguise our position by wasting millions on a complete nobody like mccinnes, while kidding on the club is building. If it's mccinnes then we should shut the youth set up and get rid of the dof. Save ourselves millions a season.Absolutely pointless having either with mccinnes as manager. His tactics will not be utilised throughout the club as is done now and he will not use or enhance the youth players we have.Nothing highlights how disjointed and poorly run the club is than seeing mccinnes as our top target. More like admitting we are done and the future is not bright. -
The club is in poor hands. Dinasours tying to build the club on yesteryear. We don't want to rely on Europe. We don't want celtic fans at Ibrox and we most definetly don't want what they term as "people who know the club" in charge. We don't want Kenny miller running the club and we don't want ally McCoist Walter Smith and ex players doing it either. They know nothing of the supporters wants and quite frankly don't have a clue what their doing. Said it a couple weeks back and repeat it again. They are killing the club and will see us closed within a decade. The only way is down with this lot in command. Completely clueless and liars too. Park did pick canixiha and king is picking this time, the time delay is down to king and him alone. Never thought I would see the day I felt the club no longer represents me. Even with the ****s who were complete thieves I never felt so distant from the club as I do now.

Kings covering the cost of his choice, it's just a matter of waiting till he has the cash available. Not sure if he's using the usual means of getting it out of SA for a sum of that size will take 5 weeks easy or if he is waiting on the cash he is due from liquidator (no idea when that's due, putting 2+2 together and could be getting 10). Either way it's going to be a while yet. -

the board need to step aside, it is very simple. They do not posses the skill base required to take the club forward and run it properly, nor do they have the ability to hire appropriate candidates either. We need their cash not their ideas. Start with the guy from the darts (Hearn?) and let him run with it. -

The midfield without pena doesn't work. It's always behind the ball. When we break the ball is mostly always in front of us instead of us having options ahead of the ball. Morelos is a one man band up there while miller sits within the back four. Miller isn't only a man down on the pitch and completely disrupting the formation and tactics hes shite at picking a starting 11 too. His and all the other players should have zero input in player selection. We will never change, have gave up completely. Too many players, club employees and fans that can't see the big picture. They are so focused on beating celtic that we cannot build anything remotely resembling a football team. We will never be a modern team, our days are numbered. Playing in a dying league, emulating tiny team mentalities. Pedro should never have been sacked. He had the attributes we need right now and can't find ,within budget ,anywhere else at this moment. He had to be given seasons to build ,not months. Next window he could have gotten rid of miller, Wallace and anyone else who wants to disrupt the team. The time to judge him was at the end of the season but as is our way we flung the toys out the pram all because we can't handle the pressure that comes with building something new at the club. The boards to blame just as much as the support. No realism or preperation for the times ahead. -

Yeah this week. Last game hardie was selected before herrera and with the joint sub still looks like hardie is the second string. -

Murty pretty much said yesterday Wilson was playing in front of Alves Official line is Alves hurt his back in warm up Guessing he didn't want to sit on the bench behind Wilson and mccrorie. Can't blame him. Joke of a club right now letting idiots like miller dictate. All seems like xenophobia to me. Hardie before herrera?? -

Passed it on weeks back . King has led the push for Mccinnes from day one and has had smith, McCoist, ferguson and miller back his choice. The DOF has also came round to agreeing with king no surprise. He has been told to go ahead with his choice but the funds must be made available by him beforehand. In the meantime park and Co have went about identifying other options as a back up and hope of changing Kings mind. It's all been amicable, no fights or anything just positions stated with clarity. It's believed by King that McInnes has a buy out clause of £750k that can be activated when paid in full. -

Said it weeks ago king doesn't have the cash available and the others won't stump up for his choice. Ball is in his court. -

Murty is a safer bet than mccinnes. He's cheaper by far, doesn't come with three linked with celtic, murty doesn't have the ability to hinder progress behind the scenes as Mccinnes would and also murty is humble enough to not try and change the Rangers fans mentality as mccinnes will. Plus less chance of player revolt with murty. Mccinnes comes in and tells KM to shut it and learn his place and we are back at square one. -

His results have more to do with the loss of hearts hibs dundee utd and Rangers than being good at his job. He has won one trophy same as four other managers in the spfl during the same spell. He has already shown he doesn't know the club or fans by stating Aberdeen know their place while we still think we are a big club. He's rubbished the winning mentality and saying we should learn to lose. He has publicly stated he cannot compete with celtic with smaller budget. His record against non Scottish teams is one of the worst I have ever seen for a top four manager in Scotland. even being mentioned is a shame on our club. A dreadful manager who thinks rangers fans are wrong -
He's was brought in by pedro after being alerted to the player by JJ. Funnily enough a low level coach doesn't have the station to sign players . The reason morelos will be unhappy is Kenny miller. A guy who spent weeks castigating the player and telling him he was shite and no where near the needed standard obviously has concerns when this same player is now picking the team and wearing the armband. The cliques asusual are very strong at rangers and the old boys club is in full swing and control ,unfortunately for them they don't have any money to support their desires and are stuck in limbo trying to get the progressive side of the club to agree to idiotic signings be it at management or player level .

Accepting nothing other than being the very best we can be is the Rangers way. Accepting medricrity and the stripping of our winning mentality is not the Rangers way. Being blind to consequences of our actions is not the Rangers way either. -
Can't see park et al putting up the cash for DM signings so will be down to DK. Doubt we will see anything but free transfers and at one in one out rate. More likely we bring back loan players and use the season for king to try and bring the board fully behind DM. Unless of course DK backs his choice with cash like park and Co did.

Derek Mccinnes knows the club and says we are deluded and need to accept second by a large margin. He says defeat by cektic is the best we can achieve. In his opinion as he has publicly stated we need to accept our place and get in line. Mccinnes is here to change our mentality not because he agrees with it. He wouldn't know a rangers man if they jumped up and punched him in the face. Hopefully DK remains at loggerheads and the rest of the board continue to refuse to pay for DK's short sighted and moronic choices. DK needs to wake up and let go of his buddies from 20 years ago who still have his ear. Nevermind bringing three ex celtic players in. They are coming to alter the Rangers way to to continue it. Man some of our support are blind. Will DM bring modern tactics. No Will he bring modern methods. No Will he bring the ability to challenge celtic with far smaller budgets. No Will he bring enhanced fitness training. No Will he bring good passing football. No Will he bring attacking football. No Does he like his teams to play on the ground. No. Is he bringing a winning mentality. No Will he bring a never say die attitude. No Really you need to start asking yourself what is it he actually brings? How does DM's mentally match the Rangers way? It's got nothing to do with pedro personally it's all to do with the fact that as a club we are going down a route that will destroy any hope of being a modern club. He's an expensive failure who will install dead football that only exists here. We will never bridge the income gaps by failing in Europe and we will never succeed in Europe on any level with a Scottish approach to playing. unhealthy players chasing the ball around like headless chickens with one dimensional tactics relying heavily upon outdated and unwanted Scottish players celtic don't want. That's our new future while having it drummed into us that this is success. -

Half full when a manager who just a couple weeks back told us we should learn our standing in Scottish football and who says a 3-0 nil defeat to celtic is the best he could hope for is about to darken our door. All to appease players who refuse to evolve past failure. Kenny miller wasn't sent away from the club for leaking information that was Wallace who was told to not come back. Miller was removed from the team because of the court cases hanging over his head and for several outbursts off the park . Canixiha believed he has anger issues and told him to sort himself out. He has fought with several of the foreign players including morelos. Not my fault or concern if you believe the rubbish in the sun and record instead. Times and heard both had pieces on the goings on that where far closer to the truth. Afyer mccinnes has dropped all the uneeded tactical classes and the training meetings He can then as he stated start teaching the fans how stupid we are and that second with our budget is all we should ever hope for. You dont honestly think that mccinnes is going to change his opinion he so readily gave just a wee while back do you? Have you asked you self how a guy who says that his smaller budgets means the best he can do is get beat by celtic is going to beat celtic with a far lower budget? Do you understand he's going to tell the players they can't think of winning? He has been very clear about that so far. Very clear. It will be good mccinnes and his backroom staff can team up with the guys who have came in lately and started removing traditions at the club and setting about changing that daft thinking of ours . You probably don't know anything about that either tbf. Rangers people are losing their roles at the club all for guys who don't believe in the Rangers way of thinking and mccinnes is just another in that procession. Kenny miller is a poison at the club along with a couple of his buddies who think evolving the way we play is less important than having an easier time of it. But they have won so now it's either get behind them or fight time. I choose to fight players who are harming the club not embrace them and make them captain . It's a very dark time at the club. Sorry I don't share your hope for the future as we embark on this downward trajectory. -
obviously i find it offensive. We didn't help the nazis we fought them, but i know who did help them and its the same ones who label us as huns.

haha so if standing in the sunshine with a train hurtling towards you just concentrate on the warm feeling and all will be well One game has nothing to do with it. that's just crap. Same as thinking yesterday was a good performance. A good performance compared to what? Hearts? amateur sides? Maybe time you aimed a little higher than absolute mediocrity, but i suppose it gives hope to those desperate to get one over on tims that the future is bright for the club. the problem for me is a large section of our fans have zero ambition. The fact that far too many see success as just beating them. Its short sighted and its going to kill our club its as simple as that. Our stupidity and desperation is leading bad judgement. Our club has no direction and it has no idea how to measure success or attainment. We look very likely to sign derek mccinnes as our manager at high cost. Why? What does he bring bar the loss of modern football? What happened to the five year plan? Why are players who are completely against the introduction of modern tactics, dietary considerations, and training methods dictating play? Why are players who make foreign players unwelcome captaining our club? is that who we are now? xenophobes? You my man are the one who needs to get a grip. Mainly a grip on the bigger picture. At least when the ship goes down along with the rest of football in Scotland you can look to the sun and feel its heat of one last time.
