https://www.facebook.com/rangersfansboard/posts/509797972496017 Two points jump out: 1, Er, I thought he had? DL: There is no way that Dave King can be 100% confident that he has the 51% votes requirement. If he was he would come out and communicate this publicly. 2 And this is ridiculous, surely? (Hopefully!) BL: Not for minuting – the Three Bears shit themselves when they thought we’d accept their deal. And a PS... PS If it was "not for minuting" and it appears in the minutes........will this be an excuse to end the meetings?

I think he meant as a reminder never to repeat the errors that led us to disaster, to never let new owners remember they are custodians and not to allow crooks back in or to rely on one individual's wealth - supposed or otherwise. Similar to Churchill rebuilding the bombed House of Commons' Chamber exactly as it had been before but leaving the arch over the entrance broken and unrepaired as an eternal reminder.

If their parents , family friends and advisors are not warning them to stay well clear of us then something is wrong with their guardians.

I have sent my cards of to the RST but they are filled in with Kensington as the location and me intending to go as I can make it there even on a work day. That may no longer be the case now that the venue will move. Are returns already sent still valid?

The way they are posted makes them easy to 'spoil' before they even arrive, far less after. Who do I put in 'proxy' name box? I intend to attend if it is in London but i see it being moved. The hotel must be freaking out by now, they;ve even got timz booked in far less bears,

"humanly" - remember the verminous creatures we are talking about here. The EGM is going to be some 350 miles closer for me to get to than Ibrox so I will probably go (once Christine explains me vote status to me) unless warned that too many of us turning up is what they want as they can call for a postponement.

I see. Well, I am not certain that he isn't - none of us can be until it is all settled. Out-thinking is not so hard when your feet are in the door already and your contracts and stooges in place. Oh and having absolutely no morals or conscience..... Perhaps "out-thinking" is the wrong phrase - Ashley doesn't think, he corrupts and crushes

If you mean the line about being surprised if an EGM goes ahead then - though I am not drawing conclusions from the same source - it is something I fear too. When King, not for the first time, talked about examining contracts signed and going after any signs of corrupt deals My immediate thought was - 'that's it, they'll now be even more determined to keep him out.'

Keeping Lewis and lending these a fortnight ago would have been a tad of a smidgen of a sliver of better PR, methinks

Yes and you'd also expect that none of it will make a blind bit of difference to either Ashley or our downward spiral and continuing position of laughing stock (at best.) From the minute D&P were appointed Admin we were doomed to a Leeds type of existence - if existence is even the correct word.
-
All the panel agreed re Ashley being a malign influence. An interview with the Newcastle CEO re the new manager was described as most depressing. The manager to be is to have no say in signings or sales and will be given a list of the only topics he is allowed to speak to the media about. In addition the manager will not complain at any player being sold at any time if what is considered a reasonable offer is made. Any player who is sold is to be replaced by a cheaper alternative - and that replacement will not be chosen by the manager. Cup runs will continue to be discouraged as being harmful to league points. Unsurprisingly they also reported that going to a game at “St James’ Park” was very depressing now with their being little noise or enthusiasm. And it is up on their site already: http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/9660624/newcastle-have-lost-their-soul

An extraordinary achievement that, no question, 6 years ago though rather than a few, and he has become a joke figure since. The piss was being ripped out of him when he was appointed at Fulham far less afterwards. Perhaps unfairly but I rememebr the reception clearly , anyway Bundesliga is still a good point. I made no comment re McCall or Butcher, they are of no interest to me as Rangers managers and in one case the very idea makes myskin crawl. Back to Magath - I had read that the idea was to have him as DoF and us undertaking a European type operation. that sounded better to me - but perhaps as a manger until the end of the season and then that? Who knows, unless the club is cleansed from top to toe it won't matter. We're utterly disastrous in every department. At best uselessly incompetent at worst, at the top, parasitical vermin. No-one on Earth can be a good manager in these circumstances.
-
Magath didn't just fail and get relegated at Fulham he then sent them hurtling to the foot of the division below, he was catastrophic and used an unbelievable number of players (over 50) in a short period of time with no rhyme nor reason to the changes. A DoF promoting youth and casting a net wide across Europe and instilling fitness and good habits - that sounds good, as long as nearly all the stories circulating about his way of handling players are untrue. But as a manager.... Actually none of this matters, if Ashley takes control this week, as seems likely, we're f@cked for the forseeable

If the Old Firm ceased to be then we won more games v them than they did v us and more titles than they did. So they are saying we won and they have given up, yes? -
Stunning news. My old man is slipping away, he's not supposed to be able to understand or recover consciousness but this news might just do it. Whatever, it's the last thing that will be spoken in his presence re the teddy bears he first took me to 49 years ago. I'm not going to be on the forum for a while now. Great to get this news as my temporary farewell thread.

"The Great Boardroom carve up I knew it wouldnt be long before for some sort of response from Ashley about the 3 bears buying Laxey shares and some sort of devious scheme to protect his position. His loan which was bullied through despite 2 better funding offers being available seen him get to appoint 2 directors. Despite Somers attempts at the AGM to suggest Llambias was independent not his first placement, it was Ashleys choice. He has been contemplating his second place but due to recent events, Somers email being outed and his possible required removal and the three bears buying shares, Ashley now thinks two directors may not be enough. His loan was for six months but his board placement agreement is for two years and if he could place three directors then this would keep him in power of the day to day running with out needing more shareholding. Over the next few days he will attempt to get Barry Leach on board as an "independent" Finance Director and then place his second choice giving him three directors under his instruction. This could potentially give him control in the board room regardless of the next moves of the three bears for years. Remember what I said yesterday, whoever underwrites the next share issue will control our club and if he controls the boardroom he will in effect decide who becomes the underwriter. I also mentioned yesterday that I was swaying from "game by game" to "not a penny more" these actions go some way to making my decision for me. Those who believed that because the three bears bought shares meant the game was over and the "good guys" had won, need to be aware that its far from over. We are dealing with men driven by greed and not the love of our club. It is my personal decision to become "not a penny more" and every fan should decide for themselves but they deserve to know the facts about who they are about to give their money to. Craig"

Thanks for your detailed response. I don't completely agree because basically, even when I accept your points in general, I think we have some players who are clearly less fit than they should be - but I guess we don't have to and, in any case, I agree with most of what you say here. I think you are bang on the money re the importance of psychology in the way you describe it above. This does, I concede, probably cover many of the instances I am remembering of part-timers skipping by our full time lot and people like Jig and Boyd being out of breath after 10 minutes on the pitch (really not sure I am exaggerating there) and other alarming examples of sluggishness. I should also confess (sic!) that I spoke to a player during the pre-season regime and he thought it was very tough. He was a young, fit member of our squad at that. (I refuse to let you now use that in argument against me though - I'll deny it :-) )
-
With respect, I think it is true. Exceptionally fit compared to 40 years ago* - yes. Exceptionally fit by even the standards of part time players, then no - not even close. If we were training and using things you mention properly (like dieticians) and following proper 21st Century fitness regimes then we would be what you describe. But we don't I watch football a lot, we are not fit compared to most others I see. Whether one person is faster than another is NOT just luck of nature. It is also what you do with what nature has given you. That's just a ridiculous claim, putting it all down to luck. Two payers at 16 - one is faster than the other. The slower one trains properly, takes advice, diets properly etc. The other boozes it up and eats junk food. You'll soon see that "the slow one now will later be fast" I agree about Adam, btw, he was an example of our lamentable individually targeted boo boy structure. I remember similar vendettas going back over the decades - perhaps there's always been a whipping boy at Ibrox? * Though Davie Smith was lamenting what he saw as our terrible lack of fitness in his Dec 6th speech at the Gernet dinner and comparing it sadly to his time.

it's even worse actually as Dungcaster had already stated the position (so no excuse for any questions whatsoever) before Chrissybhoy tried his best to get a "no" answer: "In terms of the question about old club, new club, that was settled very much by the Lord Nimmo Smith commission that was put together by the SPL to look at EBT payments at that time. "The decision, very clearly from the commission, was that the club is the same, the club continues, albeit it is owned by a new company, but the club is the same." -

Chrissybhoy was obviously wishing for another answer from the SPFL! PS http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30646033 for full context
