  1. Yes, the TV companies could have saved the money and placed a 'textbook' on the sofa and quoted from it. As previously mentioned, the textbook and RIFC/TRFC are not aligned. One day there will be many books charting the sum of 'textbook+spi.vary'. What might have been interesting would have been the use of an expert like Patey beside an 'ex-sp.iv' (if such a thing exists) and seeing what they came up with.
  2. Why exactly do you see it difficult for Deloittes to continue in their role ? ps. I'm struggling to understand the enboldened text in your first paragraph. If you have the time could you spell it out with dates/numbers please.
  3. Morning Rab !! It's interesting you should ask that. When I think about it, the ongoing 'omnishambles' is such that whoever may be tasked as a 'financial expert' to judge what is going on at Ibrox has to go beyond the mere nuts and bolts of how things might usually develop and include the hidden and unknown 'spi.v factor/MO'.........that is, if he hopes to have a chance of being in the right ballpark. What we have is someone relating Rangers to a normal business, which in recent years means that you have no chance of getting it right. Tbf, it's very difficult/dangerous at times to second guess the 'sp.iv factor' and I wouldn't expect Patey to do so. However I would expect him to make very clear that this was the case, even if he did so with toned down references. ps. I'm no financial expert.
  4. A secured loan or the facility to be called upon in the case that another potential share issue isn't successful,...... would make sense. Deloittes might like to remember what happened to the 2.5M unsecured facility they noted in last years accounts.
  5. Fair speculation but it won't hide or change what Deloittes have to say in the note where they should sign-off on 12 months of the business being able to trade (going-concern). It will be interesting and informative to see how RIFC plan to finance the business / Deloittes being 'happy' that it is reliable. ps. Patey is a half-baked 'financial expert' who has struggled to see anything coming throughout the Omnishambles. Get a real one who isn't afraid to call things out as they are.
  6. This can't last for another ten years. We are going to be a diluted force, it's a question of scale. We face not only the 'spi.v tax', assetstrip and insolvency event(s). We face it all within Scottish football that is financially contracting. Then we have to wonderr where the next generation of fans will come from. I note that the backpage of todays Daily Record gave 40% of space to Manchester United v QPR.
  7. For me getting into Europe means getting past the summer qualifiers. There is only one team in that division that has a chance of making the group stages of either competition and even they had to get lucky this year.
  8. I don't think it a sensible use of time trying to explain it to you as I haven't a spare 6 months. Some on here you can debate with, others like you refuse to 'to see' or acknowledge certain facts or issues, in such a way that goes beyond a differing opinion. The bottomline is that you are either thick, easily led or at it (as in poor agitating). I apoligise for the directness of language but sometimes there is no other choice if you want to put a point accross.
  9. ...........................Muliplied by a factor of 70M Your constant refusal to acknowledge facts or try and justify/excuse X, Y & Z is breathtakingly foolish.
  10. The irony is palpable. Not so much for an opinion, for which everyone is entitled but moreso a continuing refusal to recognise certain aspects of our situation.................Perhaps the 'Blind Loyal' would be a kinder and more accurate tag for you, Rab.
  11. The Rizvi pic gave the impression that the sp.ivs had deliberately staged the opportunity. Bear in mind that Toxic advises the ex-con from Greenock. As we await to see if Deloittes can sign off the going concern note in the accounts and if they can, on what grounds...........Another AGM looms into view and we may be about to see more changes along with whatever goes down and a new stage about to begin. Laxey seem to be quiet and biding their time.
  12. Waddell has shown of late to have a reasonable understanding of what has been going on, the bleakness of the situation and that there is pain ahead, whether it be of the acute variety that is a gamble or the inevitable road that fades and ends badly (but well for sp.ivs) and without even a fight. Alongside Richard Wilson, Keith Jackson (of occasion) and even Tom English (in his article of the other day) the spi.vs are shedding perceived clothes and being shown to have been in 'Birthday Suits'.
  13. Presently goalless at HT in the international match between Indonesia and Malaysia......... I don't suppose our new 'Asian Chief youth scout' Rafat Rizvi will be in attendence
  14. Could be another decent earner (book), especially if he can avoid a longterm NDA. Then again, he may prefer that a war of words doesn't begin. This may even be 'a warning shot' of sorts.
  15. Let's see where we are when the day comes.
  16. I don't see that McInnes is any way similar to Smith or McCoist. The fact that a player has had previous connections with the club shouldn't be anywhere near the most important criteria set IMO. It shouldn't be used to discard a candidate or indeed become a candidate. As you alude to, it should first and foremost be about the football itself, the man himself, his effectiveness/methods/results and suitability to the pressure at Rangers. I talked of realism regards where we are financially, politics, forseeable future. This would restrict your field from what we might have once expected and if we talking about the present and realism then the choice of a manager would be made with sp.ivs own interests in mind, only part of would be covered by winning football matches and you could forget football "philosophies". A more stark realism is that I doubt we could afford to sack McCoist. Then take a look over the other side of the city and remember the struggle they had at the hour of attracting a manager on the business model put forward. We are in a much worse financial situation.
  17. Yes ! I think he is about as good a candidate as we could realistically attract/afford at present. You could get sexier names but I'd rather go for someone who has experience, knows what Rangers are about but has very much got his own philosophy on the game.
  18. It's not they who are blaming the support, it was me putting forward that they should recognise their failures and they've been notable throughout the last few years. That said, there is an important 'back-story' that in part helps explain why the support/groups behaved as they did. Looking forward, the SoS/UoF have done well in a difficult situation and many now recognise the situation for what it is. The downside is that the situation may well be beyond a realistic solution (in forseeable) that would see us get back to where we once, were, ie. CL group stages.
  19. If I was wealthy or super wealthy I wouldn't throw money at Rangers, it wouldn't make any sense unless there was another angle, eg. sp.ivs see opportunity. If I was wealthy or super wealthy and a Rangers supporter then it would make 'emotional sense' but then you have to take into account the financial minefield that the sp.ivs have laid for you at the doors of Ibrox. Rab, forget the names you mention, they seem to blur some supporters vision to actually see what is going on. They serve as a tool to drum up 'hate', rather than looking at detail. The truth is Rab, that we are in a really bad place and there are no silver bullets but please recognize an ongoing process that is fleecing the club of money rather than forever blaming fans..
  20. A well crafted post but this subject can't be addressed without taking into account the deliberate, longterm, malicious and successful attempts by many of those who have sat upstairs at Ibrox to sow (SDM) and nuture (from first harvest onwards to present day) confusion and divisions amongst the support/groups via paid spin doctors and specific strategies. Tbf it would need a book to cover it fully, rather than a post.
  21. The requisitioners tried but failed, I gave various reasons as to why that was and yes much of it was down to their own mistakes/problems. That said, the support have to take a look at themselves aswell. We have made it so much easier for the sp.ivs than we should have done. One of the reasons Rangers would have been seen as a 'ripe target' was the support, the numbers (money) and the proven gullibility/divides. The SoS/UoF have helped to focus attention and energies as increasingly many 'wake-up' to what has been going-on but it might be too late. The "2 bit Yorkie" was a loud front and behind that there was considerable sp.iv orientated brainpower.
  22. First game of the season Flag unfurling Sandy Jardine tribute all contributing to pushing the attendence up against Hearts. Next Hearts League game at Ibrox is scheduled for the middle of January and the crowd for that game will be well down on 43.6K
  23. What would be required to get as close to a "panecea" as possible ?
  24. Good to hear, just joking !! Will better football fill up Ibrox again back to previous levels (40K+) ?
  25. Give the old man time to get his thoughts in order I'm sure his "eye for detail" will get there in the end
