  1. Yes, but in Berghuis they have a more than adequate replacement fully integrated and ready to go. He played and scored a couple in their CL group campaign last season. They won all six games. Nothing to fear but a lot to respect.
  2. Mulgrew loves himself, more than Jack Ross. I reckon he'd lose the preverbial dressing room before Xmas and bomb.
  3. Antony hasn't played in the last couple of their games. So they have already had to replace him from what they already have. Berghuis An experienced player with real ability. He looked decent for Feyenoord in the two matches (2019).
  4. I am fine with Devine taking up the understudy to Tav role. We have to start giving the younger lads a real pathway and reduce/reallocate the spend on back up options.
  5. They put us out of the Challenge Cup around 12/13 (at Ibrox on penalties). They also beat us 2 zip on the day McCoist resigned (2014). Another couple of score draws in the same season.
  6. Clearly a pro-immigration stance with your Zak and Zuk preference. Seriously, I don't know enough about any of them to form a useful opinion. Devine has done ok on the little I have seen of him. However, if reports are accurate and the Polish lad is about to leave, he shouldn't play. .😄
  7. Brendan may soon be following in the footsteps of his prodigy to collect his P45.
  8. Or can afford. Prices tend to come down a bit for some come the last day or two, especially those whose sell by date is in view or carry baggage.
  9. Things move fast prior to the end of the window. Maybe Gakpo will make his debut. Would add 10,000 to the gate. 😄
  10. Taking the liberty to start this for tonight. Wholesale changes for me. Huge intensive week+ coming up (Ajax, Celtic, Aberdeen, Napoli). Take no chances with regulars. McGregor Devine King Sands Ridvan McCann Jack Arfield Matondo Ure Sakala
  11. Lesson for the day Don't ship 9 goals ! Parker and Ross gone Not so sure Jack Ross will get another top flight job as manager without going down to the lower divisions to re-establish his reputation.
  12. I would add that he didn't do what was 'advertised', when required. Substitute appearances in two of the home draws (Hearts and Motherwell). 159 minutes in total. A different type of cost to bringing in players who don't perform. His signing was another 'outside bet'. Talent with baggage
  13. Net spend would be a more useful number to know.
  14. We probably sold Simpson for something like 25K and paid him off with 100K As for a profit on Bacuna, I would be sceptical.
  15. Agreed I think the club have to a degree, caused the heavier focus on the positive (or lack of consideration of the 'negative'), with the way it communicates on the numbers/issues. They present everything in a very positive way. Ok and partly understandable but it means a lack of general awareness on the other side of the balance sheet.
  16. Cheap doesn't necessarily mean bad. Ramsey had quality but PREDICTABLY , he sat out more than he played. Doubt he was cheap. Diallo was a young man who wasn't quite ready for the weight of the jersey. More youngsters will suffer this than will be a success. Ie. Both were outside bets
  17. Yes, I think the AGM will address this. If I had to guess, disabled facilities will feature. We wait for the relevant accounts to quantify it with precision. However, IMO it is reasonable to expect strong numbers, relative to previous years.
  18. Some fans will look at the squad and it's lack of reliable depth/quality, rather than the number of fees paid. We have done ok in some deals that haven't been about big transfer fees (perhaps a significant wage). I think we are short given our injury problems/Morelos conundrum/plethora of players that need 'managed' due to age/chronic injury.
  19. You often tell us that here are many 'no-go areas' for a football fans message board due to a lack of precise knowledge or respect for respective director(s). The fact is that football fans do talk about such things regardless and whilst you are right to qualify such a discussion, don't expect to close it down. The irony being the Lounge and your willingness to repeatedly pronounce on more important issues way above your paygrade, mostly without precise knowledge or 'due respect'. Free speech in both Rangers chat & the lounge !! 😀
  20. Shelf life for a Premiership manager down south is much longer than in Scotland. Moyes has been at WHU for nearly 3 years. Not one current top flight manager in Scotland has been in a job that long. Only 3 managers (15%) have been appointed in EPL since Gerrard joined Villa. In Scotland, 7 have (58%).
  21. No more injury prone players. The squad has too many as it is.
