  1. Yep. Keep singing about ******s and Bobby Sands. Keep dragging our club through the gutter. As long as it annoys some people who separate football and politics. Way to go!
  2. Who said they were preferable? Two wrongs don't make a right. Other fans unwanted chants should never be a excuse for our own problematic song book.
  3. If Messi had an ego as big as Ronaldo's, he would have a ton more goals. Messi's assists are a huge factor in this debate IMO. Ronaldo is a truly world class player but Messi is from another planet
  4. Agreed. Seems like there is a lot preaching on here these days.
  5. We have to be more clinical and stronger away from home. If we were to turn 5 of our 8 draws into wins we would be genuinely giving them more to think about. Draws are as good as defeats in a tight race IMO. I can think of at least 4 of our draws where we should have won. Aberdeen away, Hibs away x 2, Motherwell away.
  6. Still there buddy. Was down on page 2
  7. There was a thread at the start of the week
  8. That's not what I'm getting at. I'm more than aware that there are fans who want to sing these songs. I can't change that but I was thinking more of something new and non political. If fans want to sing those (without any add-ons) fair enough, that box is ticked. Imagine we had a blank piece of paper, what could we do that is non political and is purely about the club as a wall in Derry, Sash's et all mean nowt to a large number of fans
  9. Not a restriction as such. Just something new to galvanize ALL fans. If it's positive and all about the club/team then who could object? I also feel if the club want to eradicate the "naughty" words and songs they need to be more pro-active
  10. Without going over the whole political songs issue again, I stuck this in as something all fans can get behind. Some fans would rather stick to football and are put off by the overtly political chants/banners.
  11. Forgot about him. They got 3 million back on small outlay so decent business by the current board
  12. Apologies in advance if this has been done before but in the light of all the negative stories of in appropriate chants/behaviour in football in general over the last few weeks, I thought it would be good to look at the flip side and the potential positives that could come from this. It would be interesting to hear from fellow Bears about what 3 suggestions/additions you could make to the overall match day experience/atmosphere. It might be something you have seen on your travels at another football stadium or sports ground. It might be something we already do that you feel could be improved upon. Anyhoo, here's my 3... 1. One from my travels. I've always wanted to visit Dortmunds stadium and I finally got the chance a few years back to see the Yellow Wall in action during a Bundesliga game. It was amazing to see it action and it made me think if something like this could be generated at Ibrox. Imagine a " blue wall" at the Copeland Rd end inspiring the team when they were shooting into that end. It would simply be based on colour, spectacle and non-political noise and would help make the whole experience inclusive. 2. More interaction between the club and fans to celebrate our footballing history. Be it famous players, managers or honours we have a rich and glittering history to tap into and it would be good if the club could help initiate special fan days. ie. John Greig day, Laudrup day, International Players day etc. 3. We desperately need a new playlist before games. As much as Simply The Best has become an "anthem", personally speaking I bloody hate it because I hate that song. I don't want to hear Tina Tuna before a football game. I'm not sure what you use? Nothing political but a crowd pleaser? Would be really interested to hear other suggestions
  13. Fair enough but all business was under different stewardship. I'd rather judge them on what they actually do as opposed to comparing them to previous regimes
  14. I don't see what our "record" of poor fees has do with anything. Has this present board had a sellable asset on their hands?
  15. If we do we have to be clever. Make sure we have laid the foundations for a replacement and get a possible sale done early in the summer
  16. This is the best result CL in years IMO. RM may be on the slide but Sergio Ramos' apparently earns more wages than the entire Ajax XI. That gives hope to teams in smaller leagues with less money and in turn shines a spotlight on how bad St Brenda was in Europe. This result will not go unnoticed over at the cesspit. It also means Real are out. I've gone from not having an opinion on them to really disliking them due their antics under Jose Mourinho, the primadonna posturing of Ronaldo and the horrible gamesmanship of Sergio Ramos over the years. Good riddance IMO. I've no particular skin in the game but I would like to see Spurs win it. I really like the way Mauricio Pochittino operates and it would be nice to see a new name on the trophy
  17. Even if we had 25 million we won't be spending it on 2 players. The most we would spend would be about 10 million between those 2 positions.
  18. That's wee Tom off Angela the Hagg's Christmas card list
  19. I can honestly see us cashing in on Morelos and Tavernier (if the price is right). £25 million plus would be great business for us and it's no coincidence that: 1. We have brought in a dynamic right back/midfielder (Polster) 2. Have secured Defoe on a 18 month loan 3. Have been linked with pre-contracts with a few strikers. I'd hate to see them go but considering we are still playing catch up with the mhanks, 25 million would be very handy indeed.
  20. By all accounts there is a split. Those sitting behind are part of The People's Front of Judea and take nothing to do with those at the front, who are part of The Judean People's Front
  21. Just heard that the great Eric Caldow has passed away at the age of 84. My old man's favourite Rangers player. RIP Captain
