GPL Predictions Bluebear54's GPL 2023/24: Rangers vs Hearts

Rangers 2 v 1 Hearts Tav FGS -
Will be interesting to see if the manager continues to rotate the starting 11. A couple of options to cover for Cantwells injury (Lawrence, Diomande and if we had other striking options, could move Silva into that role). The LB position has been swapped in most weeks, but manager may opt for Barasic over Ridvan to add height to that area, as this was something Hearts / Shankland exposed at Ibrox previously). Huge game between 2 teams in great form.

The Winter 2023/24 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
CammyF replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
We probably did try to hold on to him, just like Motherwell will have tried to hold on to Bailey Rice. Young players get their heads turned and he'll have been offered a lucrative contract to sign for Arsenal. Good luck to the lad. -
You'll feel better if you just forget about Beale. Butcher weirdly got a standing ovation recently at Ibrox (not from me I may add) so it seems the majority of us have short memories. To be clear, if Beale came back to do the halftime draw, I wouldn't give him a standing ovation but sure he's not on the list to do that anytime soon. Again, like the appointment and the ime taken to sack Beale, the invitation to Butcher shows those running the club are out of touch with some of the fan base. Or, those on forums are not a true representation of the broader Rangers support.

As football managers who I'd never thought would get another job, yes.
-
And he'll also continue to get jobs - that's football management. Lovesick puppies? Never wanted him as a manager, glad he's gone, and can't believe there's an 84 page thread on him. Some folks just can't seem to let go.
-
Football management is a mental profession, I'm sure Beale will get another job, just like the 120 year old Warnock did and Craig 5-5-0 Levein did. He's gone, he's left Rangers, let it (him) go. Some behaving like a spurrned 14 year-old who's bird has just shat on him.
-
I don't know, Neil Warnock has just managed to get a job, as has Craig Levein, so there is hope for Beale and others.

Uncanny resemblance to an old teacher of mine

The willy nilly spending spree that was under £5M NET? But I get what you are saying - no DoF, left all to MB to recruit. However, with the exception of Lammers, his signings are all now contributing (or contributed before being injured). It's easy to heap all the blame on Beale, but : 1. He didn't hire himself and 2. Hardly likely to walk away from the best job he's ever gonna have / get. Which was all said / discussed at the time of his appointment and / or sacking. He's gone, let him go and hopefully he can forge a career for himself. I'd say it's time to close the thread.

Its not at all. The performance that day was excellent whether the game meant nothing or otherwise.
-
The result may have meant nothing (never does agisnt them tho), but the performance certainly did. It was performance that was being discussed.
-
He was talking about performances - that performance was better than our 3-1 win over Ross County - dead rubber or not. And you are correct, I think we all thought that was the performance and result that would set us up for this season.
-
No but your the one moving the goalpost when ever someone doesn't agree with you. Beale should never have been Rangers manager, but our board hired him and then stuck by him. None of that is Beales fault - your anger and insults should be directed at those who hired and then failed to fire him rather than Beale.
-
Predictable response - you really should put disclaimers in your post informing us what does and doesn't count. Anyway, no such thing as a dead rubber against them
-
I'd say our 3-0 win over Celtic topped our 3-1 win over Ross County performance wise.
-
On the whole I'd agree but I wouldn't call all of Beales wins as turgid. Also, there have been certain times where our performances under Clement have been Beale-esque - not entire games, but periods in certain games. I'd say the best performances under Clement have come after winter break which is refreshing as that's when we normally fall apart. I'd argue that our title winning season under SG was the best / consistently good football we've been served up for a decade or more.
-
A wins a win - would take turgid wins from now to the end of the season. We had some decent performances under Beale last season but many could argue that the games / results were meaningless. The 3-0 victory over Celtic was anything but turgid. His 1st game was a 3-2 win at home to Hibs which was a great game and definitely not turgid. However his tenure was a failure, no getting away from that, but I think some fans memories have been clouded by the performances earlier this season.
