  1. What, the DoF that was given a resounding endorsement at AGM by his boss? Both as guilty as each other IMO.
  2. 7 of our players who started yesterday also started the 2019 League Cup Final defeat - only 1 Celtic player started both.
  3. Without new / fresh / significant investment we'll fall further and further behind Celtic. That is the stark reality we need to face and the board need to address. The board got / get credit for getting us out of the spivs clutches (and rightly so) and for delivering 55. But in hindsight 55 merely papered over the cracks and domestically 2 trophies since returning to top flight makes us as successful as St Johnstone. We should have won the treble but think the vast majority of us were just happy to stop 10. Another aspect that takes the focus of the board was that whilst mostly failing domestically, SG reestablished our European credibility and generated some much needed finances. This lay the platform for last season amazing run to EL final. When Gio eventually replaced SG we were leading in the league but missed out on CL qualification losing to a very mediocre Malmo. Would things have been different if the board had backed SG? Would he have stayed? All ifs, buts and maybes. What is certain is the under Go we crumbled in the league and handed them the title. We did secure the Scottish Cup. I have argued long and hard that Park and Robertson (also King) are not what we need to take us forward but where does the investment come from? There needs to be investment and it needs to be soon - but I fear Park and Robertson are asleep at the wheel (as they have been for some years). Depressing times ahead.
  4. And the last line, eg Finances dictate the quality of players, squad management and recruitment
  5. In the key moments of the game (goals and chances) having Raskin playing would have made no difference. Their 1st goal is a ball in-between our right back and centre defender, then a cut back to a player in yards of room in from of our goal. When Kent hits the post in 2nd half and ball falls to Sakala and he choses to shoot rather than cut the ball back, Raskin being on the pitch doesn't influence this. Whether we would have won with Raskin playing is pie in the sky. We don't know how the game would have transpired if he'd started. End of the day, players lost the game today as too many didn't perform.
  6. Watch the interview, he takes the blame, says we didn't start the game as he'd expected us to. His post-match interview, like most of his interviews are refreshingly honest.
  7. When did MB say different? We tried to get at least one other player in January.
  8. But you can - we need more than two players. What MB supplied post match were reasons and not excuses. Player let us all down today, team picked should have been good enough but it wasn't. Two goals we lost were result of more schoolboy defending and having Raskin and Cantwell on from the start wouldn't have stopped those goals.
  9. Said the team he picked played well in last OF game and were superb away at Tynecastle. He also said that both Cantwell and Raskin had only played 2 1/2 games against teams who surrendered the ball and territory.
  10. And he explained why. How much did we spend on them?
  11. It won't but its important factor in taking the team forward. No investment and we fall further behind. Its quite simple really.
  12. Where we go from here isn't just up to Michael Beale though. It's up to what investment the board release and how well this is spent by the recruitment department. Celtic will strengthen in the summer knowing they have guaranteed CL money, we need a complete squad overhaul and will need more than a few million to cover it. As it stands we have no players who we'll move on for mega-bucks so all money required to revamp the squad will have to come via investment.
  13. Sell them to whom exactly? If they are as bad as you make out, who is going to buy them? If neither of them wants to move, how do you sell them? The last regime hit the skids because we didn't improve / invest in a title winning squad. Do you think we can just wave a magic wand that will make all the "bad" players disappear and be replaced by better players and the current coach be replaced by a better coach? We have little to no money to invest in players and / or coaches - what are your suggestions other than binning everyone?
  14. By "binning" them, do you mean paying them off? How exactly do you "bin" players who are under contract? What would it cost to bin them and MB? MB was a "safe" appointment but after one defeat, it seems harsh to say it was a "poor" appointment. Time some fans took a step back and looked at the bigger picture. Without serious investment, we are doomed to be 2nd best for a while. A sporadic league title, a cup here and there is our future without investment. You could appoint the greatest coach in the world and it wouldn't make any difference. Alternatively, you look at Arsenal and give a coach an opportunity and time to build his own team, playing style and identity, but suffer years in the wilderness. Which would you choose?
  15. There has to come a time where we understand that continually changing the manager is unsustainable. We have a huge conundrum to face and overcome. They have a better squad than us, they have more disposable cash than us and winning the league gives the access to even more money via direct qualification to the CL. Today MB picked the wrong team in many of out eyes, however the 11 picked should have been able to at least match Celtic. They couldn't and we looked unfit, off the pace, sat too deep and invited them on to us. It was inevitable that they would finally score. Once me matched their work-rate and intensity after going 2-0 down we had a 10min spell where they were rattled. However, we could keep up that intensity and eventually they saw out the game with ease. I still think MB is the man to take us forward but we need to give him time and more importantly, finacial backing so we can try and close the gap. When we won 55, they replaced the manager and their entire squad. We stood still and are still paying the price for that. Now we must replace the vast majority of our squad but do it on the "cheap" or somehow find someone, or some group who are willing to bankroll us. It's the reality of where we are and a result of the folly of not backing SG after winning 55.
  16. There was an inevitability about today's result. Too negative in 1st half, no creativity and poor decision making when we are in the final 3rd and shot-shy. Manager picked wrong starting 11 in my opinion and sun's made too late (when we were 2-0 down). Shows the size of rebuilding job we have in the summer.
  17. Set up not to concede and we're doing OK until last 5mins of 1st half. Switched off and allowed them to walk the ball into the net. Worrying thing is we've offered nothing going forward. A lot of fans around me resigned to losing that goal and probably the game Need a huge improvement 2nd half
  18. Rangers 3 v 1 Celtic Kent FGS
  19. Happy heavenly birthday Coop - 💙🔴⚪️🔵🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
  20. Think I'm going with Borna as his deliveries were outstanding all game
  21. I don't know
  22. But there have always been "hooligans" in the game, and Rangers fans have never been "shrinking violets". Just ask the residents of Birmingham, Manchester, Chesterfield........ As for their banner today - Beale made the wrong decision last week, he'll need to live with that and don't think he'll lose any sleep over the banner. If he does, he's in the wrong job, and the UB have the right to express their views as much as you or I. Rangers fans (Ultras or otherwise) have always liked to have a go at board, managers and players, so MB is in some fine company in that regard. Whilst the UB are no angels, I've not witnessed them causing any trouble at Rangers games, well apart from a half-hearted rush at Liverpool fans, and what they do away from the game is their business.
