  1. That lad Girod at Chelsea looks the part! Joking aside, I know what you mean and think if we are to buy 2 strikers, one will be "Roofe"-esque and one will be "Dykes"-esque.
  2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks likely to leave Arsenal. Would score for fun up here ?‍♂️?
  3. Don't think attitudes are changing. He clearly wants to leave and had always said we were a stepping-stone. He is our most sellable asset, he wants to leave, its a natural conclusion to his Ibrox career. It's a business model we need to excel in - buy cheap, sell expensive. Every signing is a gamble, time will tell if we replace him with a better player. Sad to see him go, but it was inevitable
  4. Just a thought, what's Kenny Miller up to these days? #bringkennyhomeagain
  5. Given the current climate, the only way we are going to improve our team / squad is by selling players to generate funds. Alfredo is our most sellable asset and a circa £14M uplift on our outlay is phenomenal business in anyone's language. This will hopefully open the door for SG to get the players in he thinks will improve us. This move will not come as a shock and / or surprise to our club, you'd like to think plans are in place for this eventuality.
  6. From what I van gather Lille have bid £14M we are holding out for £20M with a 15/20%sell on clause. Expect it to be settled at around £18M. 2 players currently in EPL are expected to join up with us this week once the EPL season is completed and the Alfie deal is signed and sealed. Timing not ideal and it needs to be completed ASAP. Replacing Alfie isn't going to be as easy as many think. However £15-£20M for a player we paid £1M for is brilliant business and the sort of business we need.
  7. Know what you mean - we were crying out for goals after the winter break and if Alfie didn't play well / score we usually lost points. Alfie link up play has been fine in pre-season and it has opened up chances for other players. Let's hope he finds his shooting boots this week tho ?
  8. Also think the management and fitness team are impressed with his levels and in the shape he returned in. Young lad has a future in the game, that's for sure. If Aribo, Hagi and Kent can continually deliver an end product (goals), then that takes a lot of pressure from our "number 9" .
  9. In a brave and bold attempt to reignite their sales and make them relevant again (if they ever were), the Sunday Mail have turned to an up-and-comimg, fare, balanced journalist to revive their fortunes. Step forward, Shu Keevins ?‍♂️?
  10. Another decent work out and overall, a decent pre-season against varied opposition. Scored 10 (Alfie hasn't scored any, but his link up play was good today), conceded 0. More positives than negatives. Aftet a bounce game on Wednesday, its onto the serious business.
  11. Would have been an early contender for goal of the season
  12. So we're not getting anything from officials again this season! 2 friendlies and 2 pens not given!
  13. Bit more intensity from both us and Coventry in 2nd half has helped us. Creating chances just need to be more clinical.
  14. Tav and Alfredo's pre-season form is a worry. Both look off the pace, struggling for form and confidence.
  15. Added to the fact that the first 10mins apart, we have not played with any tempo.
  16. Worst 45mins of pre-season without a doubt. Never mind, highlights of 6-2 victory at Easter Road being shown at half-time! 5 years ago, time flies.
  17. Coventry City boss Mark Robbins gives his thoughts ahead of the game https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/steven-gerrard-glasgow-rangers-coventry-18661466.amp
