  1. Sad news, David Hagen lost his battle with MND today and has sadly passed away. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. RIP David.
  2. And a plea from Fat Controller via Doncaster for "anybody else" to put the resolution forward again? Why would anyone do this? Maybe for a glamour friendly ?
  3. Too early to say but outcome / fall out from arbitration, especially if Hearts and Thistle win will be interesting.
  4. Yeah, for transparency, SPFL should name the club(s). I'd guess Celtic and Alloa ?
  5. They have, but this was for one club and one club only. Maybe more and more clubs realising this. Make no mistake, this is a kick in the balls for Lawell.
  6. Livi looking for in the region of £2M for him. Will we bid at that price?
  7. I think only 1 club would have been clamouring for the SPFL to have these powers.
  8. Hope it's relevant on this thread as we've been linked with him - Barnsley have had a £1M bid for Lyndon Dykes rejected by Livi.
  9. Weiedly, Brighton signing Leon Balogun was the reason we were able to sign Goldson. We need cover at CB - Katic is out until New Year at earliest, Herlander is nowhere to be seen, Bassey is young and inexperienced, McCorie and Mayo will / should go out on loan. We have 2 fit CH's, a short-term experienced signing was / is required.
  10. Rumours are we've signed Leon Balogun on a free transfer from Wigan. Centre-half who's played in Germany, England and is a Nigerian internationalist. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Balogun
  11. Coventry City fans thoughts on tomorrow's friendly. https://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/coventry-v-rangers.120303/
  12. Heart and Hand lads saying is bollocks and have a dig at The Retard for running with the story ?‍♂️ https://mobile.twitter.com/ibroxrocks/status/1286425570776100869 Oh wait, maybe a negative story relating to SPFL due to break soon, so let's blame big bad Rangers? Too cynical? Coincidence?
  13. Now I did wonder about this. Rangers are facing a SFA investigation into a potential breaking of Covid testing protocol given we played DUFC on Wednesday afternoon then had to delay Wednesday night's KO until we received Covid results. Maybe nothing but when SFA get involved, you just never know.
  14. They've been through the mill (to say the least) but back in the Championship now.
  15. St Mirren squad in lockdown due to several tests having been returned positive for Covid 19 https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/coronavirus-joint-response-group-update-23-july/
  16. McGregor to start in goal? Can't see too many other changes.
  17. Sure I read somewhere today was last day of arbitration and decision expected tomorrow or more likely Monday? As to what, if any impact on the start of the season? Pass!!
  18. Agree with most of what you say, but I think Alfie is crucial to the way we play. He can occupy an entire defence as a loan striker and that allows the likes of Hagi and Aribo to shine. Last season we were too reliant on Alfies goals, and I know it's only pre-season but we've scored 8 in three games without Alfie scoring. Whilst selling him will bring in money to build with, replacing what he contributes (when he is at his best) will be very difficult.
  19. As well as the choice of opposition, the timing of this bounce game is questionable as we were short of numbers for the Motherwell game. Just an thought given the above, maybe our recruitment team wanted a close-up view of one (or more) of the DUFC players prior to a bid? Otherwise, time and opposition very questionable. As for Motherwell as opposition, I think we are playing them again next week in a bounce game at Training Centre. May be down to them being "local" so the logistics are easy? If we are to refuse friendlies with clubs that we have a grievance against, or they have hostility against us, it'll be "Blues v Whites" for the foreseeable future ?
  20. One very decent run in the 1st half that maybe should have led to a goal. Tried hard to impress, was always available but like the Motherwell performance, nothing to get overly excited about.
  21. The front 3 looked to be a little narrower (as did the pitch weirdly) than last season and interchanged frequently. We were also moving the pall quicker / faster with short passes and 1-2s, none more so for Aribos goal. Whilst Borna got forward as much as usual, Tav appeared more defensive. Not a criticism, just looked a tweak to the formation.
  22. Yup much as expected and as you've said - hammerthowing and packed defence. They did come out a little in 2nd half. Decent performance, decent goals and a decent work out. All positive, Defoe injury apart.
