Radio on Saturday were linking him, McArther and McCarthy with moves to every team from England, Italy and Germany. Appartently there were representatives from various clubs watching the game.....! Cammy F

The SFA observer was Alex Smith and he (nor has the referee) mentioned this incident in his report..... On the subject of the bheasts, they couldn't even catch the guy that threw a mobile phone at Nacho - how hard can it be to trace the owner of a mobile phone? Simply look up 'home' on teh phones contacts. dial and ask who the fook it is..... As for the lighter thrower, give Celtc a break, there were only 64 CCTV cameras in action that day Like Punch A Pape, Kill A Catholic is something we all indulge in.... well' according to Timmy anyway.. Didn't think we sat back after scoring. We controlled the game, created numerous chances before and after the goal and defended brilliantly. Can't remember Hamilton having even one clear cut chance. Cammy F

Someone is letting Rangers down on the financial front

He's right about one thing tho, someone is letting us down and letting us down badly.... Cammy F -
I can remember the 3-0 win at Easter Road earlier in the season and young Jordan was warming up in front of the Rangers support and was indulging in a few choruses along with the massed Bears Cammy F

So befeating Lyon 3-0 in their own back yard was an embarressment? Getting seven points in a CL group where we were told that we wouldn't get 1 point was embarressing? Gaining over £10M for the club in that CL Group was embarressing? Getting to our first European Cup FInal for over 35 years was an embarressment? Jeez, I was doing cart-wheels when the realisation that Nacho Novo's penalty had taken US to a EUROPEAN CUP FINAL - something that I believed that I would never see. Hardly embarressing. We'd achieved something that many, many other clubs would have jumped at. Maybe I was lucky that I followed our games in Europe (when I wasn't there) on ITV4 and getting an 'English' perspective on our achievement was eye-opening. Totally supportive of our campaign, totally supportive of our achievement and totally supportive of RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB, way more than our local media could ever have been. I believe that some of our fans have allowed the negative media perspective to actually cloud their judgement of what we actually achieved in Europe last season. Look at the teams we defeated : Lyon, Stuttgart, Sporting, Weder Bremen and credible draws with Barcelona and Fiorintina. Hardly embarressing and something actually to be proud off. Walter Smith deserves stick for some of his decisions but also deserves credit for getting Rangers to a European Cup Final, something many other managers have failed to achieve. Cammy F

You find it hard to remember and enjoy the wonderful 3-0 away victory in Lyon? You find it hard to remember and enjoy a double header against Barcalona? You find it hard to remember and enjoy a pulsating game against Stuttgart? and only missing out on qualifying from the group of death by 3 points? Remember this was a group where many experts predictated that we wouldn't gain 1 single point. The UEFA Cup run also had some very rememberable high points, especially away from Ibrox, the 2-0 victory in Lisbon over Sporting and the drama of the penalty shoot out against Fiorintina being instantly rememberable. Walter Smith is due stick for some of his decisions last season (and this), but to completely write off the CL Group and the run to the UEFA Cup Final as nothing to remember is absolutely mental. Today, 25th February, would have been Davie Cooper's 53th birthday. I am sure all Rangers fans have their own favourite memories of the great man, here are just a few of the countless memories Davie gave us. Happy Birthday Coop - Gone But NEVER Forgotten... Ross Perry was a guest at our RSC POTY Dance a few years back and the big lad was a credit to himself, his family and his club. Given that he spent a lot of time at our event and has remained in contact with the club, we have, as a club, taken great delight in the fact that Ross has developed into a great player and one who has a great future in the game (and hopefully with our club). That is a fantastic point and one that not only affects the media, but has seen a decline in the circulation of the match day programme and the Rangers News. Most fans would rather spend their hard-earned cash on publications like Follow Follow, No1 Fanzine and The Rangers Historian - all publications written by the fans, for the fans. These publications may not contain the prose as the newspapers, but the readers can identify and sympathise with the contributors, even if they do not agree with a specific article or viewpoint. It is almost the reverse with the official publications that are frighted to print anything remotely 'out of touch with the custodians views'. The internet has allowed Rangers fans a platform to raise their fears, concerns, opinions et al in a way that no other medium has and long may this continue. There are some fantastic websites that have some fantastic contributors who's only 'crime' is discussing the club that they love - more power to them I say. If anything, these forums can offer some brilliant suggestions (just look at our own Setting The Standards as a prime example) that the club should be embracing rather than dismissing. Cammy F

OK, sounds good, lets list and celebrate everything that is good about Kris Boyd - I'll start... He scores goals... Who's next Cammy F
-
But nobody has doubted or is doubting Boyd's goal-scoring ability are they Cammy F
-
Christ all mighty - we were dicussing BOYD's ability, or inability... Lets forget the fact that Boyd can't control a ball because neither can Miller - I haven't actually said anywhere on this forum, or anywhere else in cyberspace that Miller can... Millers touches against Forfar were obviously worse as I can't recall Boyd touching the ball at all that evening before going off in the huff. Cammy F
-
Plenty of 'top class' managers would disagree with your view on Miller, as would plenty other fans. Can't remember him spening much time warming the bench at any of his domestic clubs and he plays regularly for the national side (under 4 different managers). Cammy F
-
No, make intelligent runs that detract defenders from on-rushing midfield players (I know we don't have that at the moment either), holding up the ball, creating space for team-mates, being able to head a ball, to be able to actually run would help as he can't outpace even the most cumbersome centre-halves, controlling a ball.... All basics required to be a football player, atributes that Boyd has shown some signs of improving over the course of the season, but at times is devoid of even th most basic of the above skills. As in any job, no matter how good you are, or how good everyone else tells you, you are, you can and should always improve. Cammy F
-
Boyd and Miller don't play in the same position. Would you compare McCoist and Hateley's goalscoring ability? Or would you admit that both had differing roles in the team? Can't see why Miller deserves any more criticism than Boyd. He has scored more goals than most Rangers fans thought he would, he has brought something to the team (something that I said he wouldn't at the start of the season) and has shown a desire and an attitude that others could learn from. He did lose form for a few weeks but this was down to an injury. Something that can't be levelled at Boyd, I'll give him credit where ever its due, and credit to the lad, he isn't injured very often. McCulloch isn't everyones cup of tea, but the games he's been drafted into recently, he hasn't been the worst performer in our team. In fact, taking the games as they panned out, he as a success against both Aberbeen and Celtc. Also, all the points you raised above about players performance and fees etc should be directed at the man who picks the team and identifies the players he wants signed. Cammy F

Just listened to the song and read the lyrics but can't see anything obvious regarding a reference to Rangers...? http://www.onlylyrics.com/hits.php?grid=5&id=1015915 Cammy F

Exactly, something that we should have been looking at for a sometime now. I'm sure Souness muted something along these lines when he took over as manager. When that was rejected he looked at using Dundee (IIRC) as a feeder club, farming out players to them but the SFA put the blockers on that as well. Cammy F

Ruthlessness Requiredââ?¬Â¦ As the realisation that we are now back on top of the SPL finally dawns on Rangers fans everywhere, it is the realisation and the plans to stay there currently residing in the minds of our managerial staff that holds the key to determining if we are to finally end the famine on SPL titles. This is the time for ruthlessness, for relentlessness, for self-confidence, for taking charge of our destiny, for our management staff to install this into our players and ensure that no self-doubt or negativity sneaks into their minds. However, how is going to ensure that negativity doesnââ?¬â?¢t sneak into our management teams heads? That could be the greatest obstacle that we have to overcome in the title run-in. We are now in a position of strength, sitting proudly on top of the SPL, the time has come for us to become ruthless and relentless in our pursuit of the SPL title. We have the squad of players to secure the title, we have the skill to secure the title, we have the goal-scoring talent to win the title and we are certainly mean enough in defence to win the title. Do we have the ruthlessness? I certainly believe that we do, and the management team require to install this in our players. We travel to Hamilton on Saturday just as they have stumbled onto a decent run and are also inform. However, even given the above and given that undoubtedly, this game will be a test, if we approach the game in the correct manner, impose our strength and quality on proceedings, we have a fantastic opportunity to put pressure on a creaking Celtc before they entertain St Mirren. There are 12 games remaining in the SPL title race and we must take this unforeseen but hugely welcome chance of securing our first SPL title in far too long. After losing to Celtc, I donââ?¬â?¢t think any of us could have predicted that we would be allowed back into contention, never mind finding ourselves in pole position with 12 games remaining. Rangers teams of yesteryear would have seized this opportunity by the horns and would have steamrollered their way, and anyone who stood in their path, to the title. It is that steely determination and self believe that must be installed in this squad of players. Logically, there is nothing to stop us going on to win the title. All we have to do is match Celtcââ?¬â?¢s results over the next 12 games. We have the natural talent required and now we need the likes of Barry Ferguson, Pedro Mendes, Steven Davis, David Weir, Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller to step up to the plate and drag then team by the scruff of the neck whilst dictating the pace of every game we play in. If we impose ourselves in the correct manner in the remaining games, our goal will be achievable. Last season, we capitulated in the run-in and whilst the fixture list was partly to blame, so was the fact that the players didnââ?¬â?¢t respond in the correct manner and our manager decided that the cautious approach that was successful in Europe would also see us secure the SPL. How wrong could he have been. We cannot allow this type of negativity to creep into our play and approach this season so to that end, lets hope and pray that the management team have learned a valuable lesson. In retrospect, we could and should be in an even more healthier position as we could and should have taken full points from our recent visits to Parkhead and Pittodrie. The defenders of our tactics in those games will point that the points gained were good points as we are now top of the SPL. However, of he had been more positive and won both those games, we would still be top of the SPL and there would be distinct daylight between us Cetlc. Our Support And Our Role I find it frustrating to have to pen this type of article, one that has a pop at Rangers fans, but after witnessing Rangers going top of the SPL on Saturday without support from the stands left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. TBO apart, no one at Ibrox appears prepared to actually support the team off a Saturday now. There is little or no singing (again TBO apart) and it was embarrassing at the final whistle when there couldnââ?¬â?¢t have been more than 5,000 fans left inside the stadium to cheer the players off the pitch after them clinching top stop. Can I ask a serious question? Why do people go to Ibrox if itââ?¬â?¢s not to support the team? Is it me thatââ?¬â?¢s wrong in believing that vocal backing is part of the remit of being a supporter? Ask any Rangers player, or any ex-Rangers player and they will tell you that we are an extra-man. We can have an influence on what is happening in front of our eyes and what is developing on the pitch. Our vocal support can add an extra half-yard to a players pace, it can add to their determination. Given that, and given that our team will require every little advantage going in our quest to regain the SPL title, lets rediscover our voices and our passion for singing those glorious Rangers anthems and lets give the team some much needed and deserved SUPPORT. I have to say that this is aimed at the support generated (or otherwise) at Ibrox, as the away support have, as always, been nothing short of outstanding this season (given the obstacles and barriers that they encounter and off course, the press coverage that they attract). Their Support And Rangers' Response A mere 9 seconds into yesterdays game at Fir Park, the massed Celtc support chanted their first (of many) sectarian / offensive song. These sectarian / offensive songs were unrelenting over the course of the entire game. In fact, Lanarkshire Police were forced to enter the stands housing the travelling fans and were clearly shown evicting many fans singing these horrible and vile songs. Given that above, is it fair to say, and with some certainty that the SPL observer will have heard these songs, seen the Police ejecting Celtc fans and include this in their report? Can we look forward to Reporting Scotland and Scotland Today highlighting the above and showing the lyrics of the songs along the bottom of our TV screen? Can we expect the papers being full of condemnation and pleading with the SPL to dock Celtc points? Can we expect a week full or condemnation on the phone-ins? Can we expect, all we actually crave on this matter, parity? Off course, we all know that the answer to the above is a simply ââ?¬Ë?noââ?¬â?¢. Given that, what course of action would you like to see our club / custodian take? This is a perfect time for them / him to come out on the offensive. Personally, if I were in charge, or had any influence in what our response in this matter, I would invite the heads of sport from the BBC and ITV to Ibrox and show them a video of yesterdays game. I would then ask them of they had any plans to highlight the singing issue and if their answer was ââ?¬Ë?noââ?¬â?¢, I would politely thank them for their time and inform them that until they show parity, their organisations would be banned from Ibrox and wouldnââ?¬â?¢t be gaining interviews with our players or management staff. They would also be informed that until they showed parity, there would be a weekly article on Rangers World showing any sectarian or offensive singing NOT perpetrated by Rangers fans and showing that this wasnââ?¬â?¢t being highlighted by the media. I would then contact the editors off all Scottish newspapers and inform them the same. Then I would ask for a meeting with the SPL and ask to read all the reports from this weeks SPL games. If none of these reports show any mention of sectarian or offensive singing, I would show the SPL the video of yesterdays game and ask why their observer failed to mention obvious sectarian and offensive singing? I would then ask them if the observer who missed this obvious singing would be sanctioned for not doing their job correctly. If the SPL didnââ?¬â?¢t show signs of parity, I would inform them that Rangers FC would not be handling tickets for any further away games, or for semi-finals that Rangers appear in. Added to that, Rangers FC would be seeking to meet with all their Rangers Supports Clubs with a view of a blanket boycott of all away games (which would be shown at Ibrox free of charge). We are being bullied in this matter, and its easy for a bully to pick on a victim that is scared or wonââ?¬â?¢t retaliate. Once a victim shows some courage, the bully will inevitably find a new victim. Fighting someone who actually fights back isnââ?¬â?¢t something that a bully will do for long, it at all. All of the above isnââ?¬â?¢t rocket science and wouldnââ?¬â?¢t take long to implement. If done properly, it would ensure that parity was obtained and obtained quickly. All it takes is a Chairman with a back-bone who actually cares about the public image of his club and itââ?¬â?¢s fans. The bullies would soon run off and find another victim. Cammy F -

Fook sake, Millers done alot and not alot in his short time at Rangers - why does everyone jump on Miller when Boyd is being discussed? Miller has his faults, uut this is a thread about KRIS BOYD, NOT KENNY MILLER. Kenny Miller didn't force Rangers to pay £2M for him and I believe that Boyd will be on a similar basic and will probably be getting more due to goal bonuses. So Boyd is a better player than Kenny Miller, so that makes him what exactly. Neither are Rangers class in my opinion and neither is faultless. I criticise Miller as much as I do Boyd, however, Miller has a far better attitude than Boyd, even a blind man could see that. Cammy F

But all of our current strikers can hit a cows arse with a Banjo - the last one we had who couldn't was Sebo and he was treated as some kind of hero by a huge section of our support. Cammy F
-
However, as you are entitled to your opinion, others are entitled to theirs. IMO a striker has to have more in his locker than scoring goals. All my goalscoring heroes offered so much more than simply putting the ball in the back of the net. I want Boyd, or any other Rangers striker to live up to that reputation. As for the question in bold, to please this bear, he needs to improve on his attitude, his fitness, his link-up play, his control, his pace, his ability to hold up the ball, his awareness of those around him (team-mates as well as opponents). If he can improve on some of those areas, this Bear would be delighted. Cammy F
