Rangers target move for Aston Villa youngster Rushian Hepburn-Murphy
pete replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
When we play Celtic next double barrelled does spring to mind. -
I don't even want to think about something 5+ years in advance. A few years ago at a meeting, in my then work, we were all cheering because we had orders to keep us in work until 2025. Two years ago 800 men were thrown on the street. As my old colleague would say: "Scenario's I f*****g hate Scenario's".

I actually think they do care. Most people always want to achieve the best they can achieve. It is mostly after something goes wrong they lose their motivation. That is mostly the same in all walks of life. Getting a boss you can't get on with makes you say ckuf it

I was pretty near although I never thought of the Schotten dicht in the naval term. The one thing Just being pedantic but if the bulkheads or Hatches were closed, would the ship be sinking?

Refusing to do the job you are employed for is sackable but I do think they would need to go through the spoken warning, written warning procedure but he must be well down that road by now. My actual first thought was Kranjcar injured, start training Joey.

It says that before 7pm the Celtic supporters were already drunk and a lot of bottles and glass was being broken. (I take it flung) The police had to get reinforcements to deal with the trouble. it was not only the police they were fighting but also other rival fan groups. In a nutshell.

Gareth Bale new contract 361.360 GBP per week after tax
pete posted a topic in General Football Chat
Gareth Bale will take to the field at Legia Warsaw tonight for a Uefa Champions League match with the confidence of a man who is wanted by his club. The Welshman has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2022 and make him the best-paid player at the European champions on a reported €400,000 (Dh1.5 million) a week after tax. There is also an astronomical and never to be met €1 billion buyout clause, a firm indication that Bale intends to finish his career at Madrid. http://www.thenational.ae/sport/primera-liga/gareth-bales-new-contract-highlights-his-importance-to-the-present-and-future-of-real-madrid -
One thing I don't understand and not just in that game. 1 minute to play. Celtic need the 3 points and the last minute the centre backs pass away the minute with each other. I would think pump it up into the area and see where it falls.

That is them got on their other 15million pound talent. 4 players worth 60million and they still can't keep the ball for more than 6 seconds unless Gordon has got it.
-
I'll leave that one to DB.
-
Celtic have a team of 13 year olds out tonight. Oh no sorry it is the Mascots.
-
I am not DB but i can confirm it.
-
I guess that horse has now been shot. No doubt they will be trying to put pressure on the club to take it up again.

Wales dominated the second-half and in the end Scotland were lucky to hold on for a draw. I am not sure why Scotland replaced Cochrane of Hearts (Ithink) at HT as he was the best player. With him gone the Welsh could shut down Gilmour far easier. After Dembele came on it was a commentator drool feast. Every time he touched the ball there was an action replay that wasn't there for other good moves. He certainly was good on the ball but he was lost when moved to the strikers role. A terrible decision from the coaches to put him there as he is far too small for that and certainly not strong enough. What I learned was, defensively we don't have much to say we have great defenders coming through although that is maybe unfair only having seen 1 game. Gilmour looks good but not near the first team yet but at 15 that is no question on his talent. Butterworth(?) looked really good as wellin the first half and had a good assist. As I said cochrane was the player who most stuck out for me.

If the guy in the photo did it then there will be enough people who recognise him it is a pretty good photo. -
Moving up the ladder Around the Academy: The famous Manchester United Youth side from 1991 Which of these Manchester United youth players went on to hit the big time? A club invites you to join its Academy. What happens now? We asked Paul Holder, assistant Academy director at Crystal Palace, to talk us through the various stages. What exactly is an Academy? Academies are special training schemes set up by clubs to help them develop young players. All Premiership clubs have Academies. Other League clubs run either Academies or Centres of Excellence, which are run along the same lines. Many non-league clubs also run their own development schemes or community projects. Do I have to be a certain age to attend an Academy? A player must be at least nine years of age to join an Academy. But many clubs - such as Arsenal - have development groups which cater for even younger players. Does it matter where I live? Yes. This is important. Strict new rules have been brought in to prevent clubs signing young players who live outside their catchment area. Under 12's must live within an hour's travelling distance from the club, or 90 minutes for players aged 13-16. Academy teams take part in a tournament You'll sign schoolboy forms to start off with What happens once a club agrees to take me on? Between the ages of 9 and 16 you will be asked to sign schoolboy forms. These will be renewed every year or two years, if the club is happy for you to continue. Once you're 16, the club will then decide whether it wants you to stay on and join its Youth Training Scheme. Places are limited though. For example, Crystal Palace take on around six trainees every year at this stage. Some clubs take on more, some less. If you are one of the lucky ones, you will be offered a scholarship. This can last up to three years during which time you should progress from the Academy's Youth team to the Reserves. Premiership clubs also have Under-21 teams to bridge the gap between the reserve team and the first team. Technically, you can sign a professional contract at 17. But Wayne Rooney is the exception rather than the rule. Most players will have to wait until they are 19 before finding out whether they have a future at the club.

Who Ate All the Pies.....Rangers v Kilmarnock Preview
pete replied to cooponthewing's topic in Rangers Chat
I agree totally to a certain point and Boyd was a lazy person:). I am no Boyd fan and probably one of his biggest critics but sometimes I wish now there was a bloom'n striker that was always in the box. The likes of Clark was the opposite for me, he worked far too hard for a striker. I suppose it is how you want to play but if you want a hard working striker then you also have to have a midfield who want to get into the box. That is our problem when Miller is the main striker when he drops deep we have nobody in the box. I will also say Boyd was probably the reason Miller scored so many goals in the year that they played up front together. When Miller dropped deep the CH's stayed with Boyd giving Miller room to run the channels. I can't believe I am defending Boyd. As Cruyff would say every positive has a negative and every negative has a positive. -
He is also quite funny. When one of the players blootered a simple chance over the bar he jokingly made a substitute sign to his assistant. Made me laugh as well.
