  1. Found this over DC Some of it brought a tear to my eye. It is nearly an hour watch but well worth it.
  2. Newcastle Youngster Compared To Former Soviet Star 9:58 pm, Saturday, March 28th, 2015 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 3 Comments Rangers beat Cowdenbeath 4-1 this afternoon, and they were helped by two goals from on-loan player Haris Vuckic who scored two late goals to make the game safe. haris vuckic scores against Cowdenbeath Haris Vuckic score late goals against Cowdenbeath After drawing five league games in a row Rangers have now won their last two games – with a fine win last Sunday at Hibernian (2-0 win) and now today with a good 4-1 win against Cowdenbeath at Ibrox. Clark put Rangers ahead after 49 minutes but then Oyenuga equalized for the visitors after 73 minutes, before McGregor restored the lead with just seven minutes to go. And then it was Haris Vuckic who scored two late goals on 88 minutes and 90 minutes to make the game safe for Rangers. With Hibs losing 2-1 at Raith Rangers today, Rangers are now level on point with Hibs in joint second place and they have a game in hand. Rangers manager McCall was impressed with Vuckic, as he talked to BBC Scotland after the game: “He reminds me so much of big Alexei Mykhaylychenko, who I used to play with.” “He’s very graceful with a good left foot,” “I said today we would give him a good half hour because he’s been unfortunate to be out the side. Not only is he a good talent, he’s a goal threat as well.” 6’1″ tall Alexei Mykhaylychenko played for Rangers from 1991-1996 and was a central midfielder who played 41 times for the USSR and twice for Ukraine, following the break up of the USSR, and certainly Harris is a similar build and is also a very good technical player. This was Rangers first home victory since January 3rd, and it’s good they are hitting form at the right time before the all important play-offs. If they can win the four team play-off, they are back in the Premier League next season. And while the other four Newcastle players are not doing too much for Rangers’ cause at the moment because of injury, Haris Vuckic is and has now scored 5 goals for the famous Scottish club.
  3. The marked sentence says a lot for me. He got the choice if he wanted to train or not. i doubt we will see Boyd back.
  4. I can only say I think you are wrong and only time will tell.
  5. That is indeed another point. Having confidence in your team mate(s).
  6. Agree but I will add that most of Boyds problem is in my eyes his fitness. I know some players can carry a bit of weight but Boyd is just carrying too much. His first touch has always been a disaster and that is showing up now that he is slowing down.
  7. I think there is a good player in there somewhere but i am not sure whether a good coach can bring it out on him. I have not seen many defenders that are better at getting in front of the man they are marking. He is excellent at that. it seems to be if he has time to think that it all goes wrong. Thoughts?
  8. You can see conspiracies in everything. Ask RangersRab about Lloyds bank .

    Attendances

I think you are putting 1+1 together and getting the answer you want.
  10. I don't, play-offs are virtually in all league's now, the Dutch also have a European play off system from team 2 to team 9 in the league.
  11. I know this is not directly rangers chat but worth discussing on here I feel. it is good to see that facilities are improving at grass root level. Hopefully if Scotland can give young players good facilities to play on then the whole of Scottish football will improve. I still have the scars from Knightswood black ash pitches. Is Springburn a one of or are there now good playing facilities across Scotland?
  12. How many hours does that cover of Allys gardening?
  13. Former Rangers chief executive Charles Green not welcome at Ibrox Rangers interim chairman Paul Murray has slammed the door firmly shut on Charles Green returning to Ibrox The outspoken former chief executive, who resigned over a racial slur, had said he wanted to go back to the Govan giants, even though the club had spiralled into chaos since he took it out of administration four years ago. The colourful Yorkshireman has claimed he would love to go back with investment to lead them back to the top level in Scottish football. When asked if Green could return, Murray answered with a stern, “No”. Murray also confirmed the board are currently in the process of trying to unmask their mystery investors, Blue Pitch and Margerita Holdings – who bought into the club under Green’s turbulent rein. “There is a legal mechanism where companies can find out who is behind various shareholdings,” he claimed. “As the new board, our manifesto is one of trust and openness, and we will get round to that. “Whether we get all the answers is another question.” Murray has also moved to allay fears that the current board don’t have the money they initially promised before they took over. He claims the funding will be put in place for the short and long-term once the SFA deals with their fit and proper person applications for them all, including Dave King. Murray revealed those processes were at an advanced stage and so was the job of finding a new Nomad to get the club’s Alternative Investment Market ban lifted and the company back trading. Murray said: “I think the figure we will need is somewhere between £15-20million to get back into the Premiership and Europe. “We have to separate that into short, medium and long-term investment. The short-term has all been about stabilising the club’s finances and we did that on Monday with the £1.5m loan. “There will be further investment to come in the short-term and we are still going through the figures to find out the obligations. “It is a football club, first and foremost, and the most important thing is what happens on the pitch. The team drives everything.” He confirmed the new board are still trying to piece together the financial remains of the previous regime. That process is on-going and they still have to hold talks with shareholder Mike Ashley or his Sports Direct company that is owed around £5m in loans and currently holds the equity over Murray Park, Edmiston House and the Albion car park. Those are issues that need to be addressed in the longer term but Murray admitted the short-term priority is results on the pitch and trying to reach the Premiership. Stuart McCall has come in on a short-term basis and the chairman is adamant the club will take their time over the next appointment. Murray said: “Only 13 people have held the job in the club’s history, so it is a really important position. “We are not out looking for candidates at the minute. Stuart is in the position and we are 110 per cent supportive of him. “Stuart would, obviously, be a candidate going forward.” Talks are planned with ex-boss Ally McCoist over a settlement.
  14. BEFORE yesterday’s game against Cowdenbeath at Ibrox, the problems facing Rangers appeared obvious to many observers: put simply, their strikers don’t strike, or at least not often enough. Prior to that encounter, Kenny Miller, Kris Boyd, Jon Daly and Nicky Clark had scored a mere 17 league goals between them. I don’t think we have performed well individually To put that into perspective, 16 players from other Championship clubs had found the net more often. Hibernian’s Jason Cummings, with 13 goals, had more than four times as many as Boyd, who has endured a miserable campaign, recently admitting that he did not deserve to be offered a new contract this summer. His strike partner, Kenny Miller, disagrees. His controversial goal in the 2-0 victory at Easter Road last weekend was only his fifth in the Premiership but he is convinced that the fault lies not with the players at the business end of the pitch but with those behind them. “I don’t think Kris is doubting himself about whether he’s doing the right thing,” said the 35-year-old. “I’ve worked with Kris long enough and I haven’t seen any change in the way he works. “Personally, I don’t feel we have performed well individually – no individual has stood out this season. “But I don’t think it’s a coincidence the strikers haven’t scored as many as they should have. Nicky Clark came here off the back of scoring more than 40 with Queen of the South. Jon Daly scored regularly for Dundee United. Kris’s record speaks for itself and I’ve always scored goals wherever I’ve been. “You can always look at yourself and do more. But when you have four lads in the same boat, you have to strip it back and look at why this hasn’t happened. “I’m not using the lack of ammunition as a cop-out but it goes hand in hand – if we aren’t getting chances, we’re not going to score goals.” Miller and Boyd are among the 11 players whose contracts expire at the end of May and the former believes he deserves the opportunity to extend his time at Ibrox. “Of course I want to stay here,” he said. “I never came back here just to have one year in the Championship. “I came back with a long-term plan and that was to get promoted and get us back to the top end of Scottish football. That remains the same. Everyone involved who is out of contract now has an opportunity to impress. At this stage we don’t even know whether the manager will be here or not at the end of the season. In terms of players, whether we are going to be here or elsewhere, we have to impress somebody if we want to have a job next season.” Failure to take Rangers into the Premiership for the first time would have repercussions for players, coaching staff and beyond and Miller has been around for long enough to appreciate that most of the senior professionals will be considered surplus to requirements should they lose out in the play-offs. “There’s no guarantee that we’ll go up,” he said. “Obviously, the league’s gone now and we’re firmly focused on the next seven games, although it could end up being 11 or 13 games. “We’ll be aiming to build on last Sunday’s result and finish as high up the league as we can. “Like probably everyone else in the dressing room, I’ve been disappointed in the performances, individually and collectively. “It’s been a tough, tough season for everyone involved with the club. We’ve not got up to any real level of performance. “We’ve seen it in the odd game here or there but the levels of consistency haven’t been what we were looking for. “It’s definitely not what we set out to achieve at the start of the season, that’s for sure.” Interim manager Stuart McCall, meanwhile, was missing from the Scotland team hotel this week for the first time since Gordon Strachan appointed him to his coaching staff in January, 2013. McCall was forced to remain at Murray Park in order to focus on Rangers’ promotion battle and admits to having suffered withdrawal symptoms. “I went down to Mar Hall on Friday to see the staff and wish them good luck,” he said. “Personally, it would have probably been worse if I’d been missing the games against the Republic of Ireland and England.”
  15. You beat me by 1or 2mins great minds think alike..

    Welcome Thread

Welcome mate. Good to see you coming out the closet.
  20. i think he has already said he saw a difference on the way the teams are playing. not punting the ball any more
  21. I doubt that big scores are possible against any team these day's. Even the top countries find it hard to break the small teams down. The small teams are normally super fit and defend with 10 men and hope to score from a break away. Even Iceland are second about 7 points clear of the Dutch. The Dutch are hoping to sneak through in 3rd place.
  22. Normally i would agree with you Gribs but these players done nothing for about 6 months so no chance of a burn-out
  23. Are you incinerating that I am dreaming. How dare you sir.
  24. You can have her when I'm finished i will move on to Doutzen Kroes.
  25. Killing world football is all I can say.
