Mikel Arteta: I'll sign new Arsenal deal once fit
pete replied to pete's topic in General Football Chat
As TRP pointed out in his post BH I was being sarcastic. That is why I put in the smilie. He was not really found good enough at Rangers but ended up with a top team in Engerland. Sometimes we seem to miss seeing the talent we have. Playing players out of position could be a reason. Arteta had to bow for Ferguson if I remember correctly. -
We used to have a player with the same name. Was never good enough for the EPL though.

NEWCASTLE UNITED's under-fire owner Mike Ashley is ready to stage a U-turn over his policy of not taking the cup competitions seriously. By John Richardson PUBLISHED: 22:00, Sat, Apr 18, 2015 Mike Ashley will spend big this summer to ensure a silverware challenge Ashley will tell the next head coach, who will be appointed in the summer, that the brakes will be released surrounding the FA Cup and League Cup. Until now Ashley - to the constant annoyance of the Toon army - has insisted it's all about finishing in the Premier League top ten and nothing else. It means that weakened sides have been fielded in the FA Cup and League Cup with the result that the Geordies have not gone past the third round of the FA Cup in the past three seasons. That has been an insult to the memories of St. James' Park greats like Jackie Milburn who helped Newcastle win the FA Cup three times in the fifties. Now though sources close to Ashley, who will today be faced with a fans boycott at the Tyneside Premier League clash against Spurs, insist that he has had a major rethink when it comes to the knockout competitions. He wants the club to have a real go at claiming some long overdue silverware and as Sunday Express Sport has revealed will spend big this summer, 12 months ahead of a period in which he believes transfer fees will rocket when the new mega TV deal comes into force at the beginning of the 2016-17 season. But it has come too late to prevent the campaign to remove him being stepped up today with various fans groups calling on supporters to boycott today's televised game. Many disgruntled supporters believe that Ashley is just about making money at St. James' Park and that he lacks ambition. It's why some will be missing from their seats today and instead will be attending various protest movements calling on Ashley to sell the club.

Agreed but the Sky money comes through the SFA and the Fans money doesn't.The SFA will go where the money is.

I am afraid the more I hear McCall talking the less I want him as manager next season. It seems he finds drawing with teams we should be hammering acceptable.
-
Two wrongs don't make a right. I am not saying you should do it but you should look at the whole picture and work out what consequences it could have for Rangers. Cutting your nose off to spite your face is also not the good way.
-
I have no idea what it is about but I will read up on it.
-
I never wanted him either and after he went on holiday to Portugal on the build up to our European games I strongly suspected his judgement. Malmo were well into their season and we were still in our bath slippers. After he was in I hoped he would prove me wrong but unfortunately he didn't.
-
The fact he has a lisp does not make him a bad person and should not be quoted as so. People can not help having a handicap. And most people do have a handicap of some sort.
-
I have no idea, so I will have to accept that you know far more about his financial situation than me mate.

Revealed: former Bradford chairman linked to at least eight fires...

I am surprised Gribz hasn't been on this one it is just down his street. -
No just how far your trolling is going.
-
I suppose you will be blaming him for the Karen Buckley murder.

Personally I don't think you can judge what he made in his football career on today's standards. Players were not on as high a wage as the top players of today. TV would have gave him a wage but not make him rich. Yes he has made a lot at Rangers as manager but don't forget the figure is pre-tax and as I say he will also have the cost of living as we all do. Yes I think he is better off than me but I doubt if he is super rich.

Rangers slam behaviour of fans who set off smoke bombs at Livingston as two appear in court 13:04, 16 April 2015 By Record Reporter FLARES were set off in the away end at the beginning of last night's Championship clash at Almondvale. SNS A flare is set off in the away end ahead of kick off at Almondvale RANGERS have slammed the actions of supporters who set off smoke bombs during last night’s Championship clash at Livingston. Flares were let off in the away end at the beginning of the match, which ended 1-1, and two people are expected to appear in court today after being arrested at the ground. Rangers released a statement this afternoon condemning the actions as “unwelcome and dangerous” and have vowed to take action against any supporters involved. The statement on the club’s official website said: “The club is extremely disappointed at the conduct of a few of our supporters at last night’s match against Livingston. “We understand that two supporters were arrested for alleged use of pyrotechnics and are appearing from police custody at Livingston Sheriff Court today. “We also understand from Police Scotland that further investigations are being undertaken to identify further supporters who were involved in this reckless conduct. “The club will fully assist Police Scotland in this investigation to identify those involved. “The use of pyrotechnics at football matches is an unwelcome and dangerous distraction that is frightening to some of our vulnerable supporters. “This is not the manner we expect our supporters to conduct themselves and the Club will take immediate action to identify and take appropriate action against those involved.”

Lets not start prejudging before they make the decision. They stopped Ashely in his tracks don't forget otherwise we would be in a lot worse spot as we are now.

Maybe he is not as rich as people think and still has a mortgage or rent to pay like the rest of us, and puts his family first. I don't know but it is a possibility.
-
You sound like my wife. It was a bargain at only a fiver so I bought 10 of them.

The tims will be trying to ban it because it means up to the neck in f****n blood. Just like they did with the red in our socks.

@tedermeatballs: If you think the SPFL is the eye of a shit-storm tonight then just wait till you see what else is brewing! Tomorrow should be interesting.

ps. It is quite smart though. I am not sure about the white on top of the arms, I would have to see that in real.
-
As long as it is attached to Ashely I won't go near it.

The only thing you miss out is onion that brings tears to your eyes.

A wounded beast is more dangerous. His whole modus operandi is about screwing every last dime out of everybody or everything, The only thing that stopped him getting full control were the SFA not allowing him to buy more shares, I don't really understand why he never got one of his bum boys to buy the shares and give them to him in a proxy.
