Any time I have actually seen him which is mostly against Rangers I have actually quite rated him. He is good at going forward and is really fast. I actually think that Rangers can make him into a good player for us.

They are now trying to evaluate and change things to get to the top of the tree again. I think Feynoord has the best youth system at this moment when look at their first team. As Cal said the Dutch system produces these fantastic players. The Prof teams just polish the diamond. The true success of the Ajax youth system of the seventies was that they were the first team to go out of their own region to pick the best of the crop of players from the whole of Holland. Once they got the talented players they wanted the Ajax 4-3-3 system was practised(Brainwashed) throughout the whole youth system so every player played in that system naturally without thinking. When Marco van Basten was made manager a few years ago, Johan Cruiff was brought in to totally reconstruct the youth system. Johan Cruijff wanted full control of what happened in the youth setup but van Basten wouldn't accept that, so Cruijff resigned. F v\d Boer is now head trainer of the under 19 team.

Unfortunately the tims being totally battered into a blobbing mass of disarray by a mid-table Dutch team shows just how bad the SPL is. Hibs were also beaten 3-0 by Heracles in a pre-season friendly. I know you can't judge on friendlies but Hibs were also totally outplayed. Rangers and Celtic used to fight it out with the top Dutch teams now at least one half can't even fight it out with the minnows.
