  1. I got pelters earlier in the season for daring to suggest Weiss wasn't really all that cop.
  2. Well that's me telt! About 3 different things but I'm still telt!
  3. If the worst comes to the worst and we lose Miller, at least we have a ready made replacement.
  4. AKA no one knows, as the Queens of the Stone Age would say. imho it's another dead rubber. Aren't they always?
  5. Not read the whole thread but my take on the whole situation is that we've been scraping the financial barrel for a very long time thanks to the exuberance of SDM and Advocaat, not to mention Walter's first 2 seasons in charge of his second spell. We keep being told that there's no money, yet we managed to bring in Weiss, Beattie and Jelavic for 5.5M and wages. The truth is I think we say these things because we play it incredibly tight in the transfer market and don't want to pay more than someone is worth, which is what timmy does all the time. I'm not saying we're well off, but we're not completely perilous either. If there was simply no money the club would be bankrupt - Lloyds wouldn't support an organisation which can't support itself. New ownership will help the situation a lot and take the worry away, but I don't think we're a stricken ship quite the way the press and indeed the club suggest. We just need that ownership boost.
  6. Wonder why the delay on Miller when we sow Naismith up so quickly.
  7. Unless we get new ownership, this announcement is really no surprise. And everything has gone conspicuously quiet on the new ownership front. As usual.
  8. To the readers of the Sun, a story about Joe Bloggs doing the dirty isn't going to interest them.
  9. You mean do I think lower of people I know if they do the dirty?
  10. Aye, but it's less interesting when it's Joe Bloggs from Bloggsville than it is if it's a famous footballer.
  11. Boruc made the front page with an almost identical story a while back. Give the papers ammo and they'll fire, doesn't matter if you're a Rangers player or Celtic. Their primary goal is to shift copies, and if a salacious story about Rangers' or Celtic's goalkeepers does that, you can bet your ass they'll run with it.
  12. Not surprised. More surprised if it does get played.
  13. Allan McGregor will never grow up, he's morally bankrupt with ethics of a preying mantis. But end of the day he's a great goalkeeper and that's what matters to Rangers supporters.
  14. Couldn't agree with him more. He's cleverly pre-empting the notion of the season being extended. Of course the reason the SPL would use to justify it would be that they couldn't accommodate just one team with an extension, but 12 is a different story.
  15. For no particular reason I started this on Facebook - I know it's futile and he's made his mind up, but I just wanted to express an opinion. http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-wish-Walter-Smith-would-change-his-mind-about-leaving/147709755278312?ref=ts
  16. Not seeing too much of the 'up' side of things though.
  17. That's what Gazza called us when he joined. 'Glasgow'.
  18. Be interesting if we get City in the Europa League. Would he be ineligible?
  19. His header at Parkhead in '89 in the 1-1 was probably the catalyst for us winning the league after a bloody horrible start which left us rock bottom of the table. Yes folks, 20 years ago Rangers were bottom of the league.
  20. Then that rather debunks the positional theory. For some reason he doesn't fancy the SPL. tbh I don't really blame him, I don't really fancy the SPL either. But he's being paid a fortune and he's not contributing anything like what he should. In saying that I saw him tackling in defence in our last match so...
  21. What I always wonder about is just what the phrase 'going to the press' actually constitutes. Did the person have a microphone thrust in their face and a leading question thrown at them? Did they blurt it out accidentally at a press conference? Were they asked a fair question at a press conference and answer a legimate response? Did they call a journo and fess up down the phone? Did they call a radio station and rant on air? I'm never really sure when we see quotes in the press, just what their origin is.
  22. Is he a right winger or a right footed 'winger'?
  23. I made a Facebook page about this - tbh I wish Walter would change his mind about leaving. Ally in charge is far too much of the unknown and we trust Walter by and large. He's a safe pair of hands and I fear for us under Ally's management. This is not to say I am certain McCoist will fail, just that I don't know and I am extremely wary of the future without Walter who has brought so much success.
  24. I remain distinctly disappointed with Weiss. He had a very bright start but really has deteriorated and is now simply awful. I've heard complaints that he's being played on the wrong wing, but I'm not sure if that excuses just how inneffectual he is these days. Thoughts guys? Am I being too harsh?
  25. He's been very flakey this season - I get the feeling he's frustrated at the lack of bids to come in for him, and feels stuck at Ibrox.
