Latest from STV is the player himself isn't happy with our wage offer, and also believes Wien owe him money. This one is set to either drag on or collapse imminently.

The SPL is as low as it will ever get tbh. Rotten displays by our players down there won't really make any difference to the standing of the SPL imo.

Boyd - don't have any time for him and I expect him to do pretty poorly down there, and tbh I hope he does. Thomson - don't really have anything against him, consider him way over rated and think we got a good deal. Hope he does alright down there but it's not really anything I'm that bothered about.

As for Namouchi, not read the whole thread but I would absolutely take him back in terms of squad depth, but never as a certain first team starter.

His peak was his absolutely world class display V Lyon at the Gerland, but thereafter he just deteriorated horribly to the point where I resented seeing his name on the team sheet. A player who was definitely over-rated by some smug types who thought they knew better than everyone else (not saying all those who praised him were like this) and whose nothing career since leaving us pretty much shows him for what he lacks.

With speculation rife about new players, but no new signings materialising as yet, what are your ambitions for this season folks? Personally, IF we make some smart and crucial signings, I want to see a credible performance in the CL albeit I don't expect any better than 3rd in the group, 4th if it's a group of death. And I think we're favourites in the league and should shade it for 3IAR. What about you lot, what are your expectations this season?

I'm not quite sure how you were viewing the game, and although there was a lack of long ball from us, we lacked possession and didn't use the ball too well, especially in the first half. Picked up in the second though and was much better.

Lennon continues to prove that when the chips are down, he cannot do it. He lost to Ross County, he lost to Braga. He won in the SPL when timmy had already lost the league, and that's the basis he got the job from.

For us yes, for other clubs less so.

Newcastle shaded the first half, we shaded the second - but our goals were extremely clinical and it would be nice to see more of that next season.

Bougherra is now showing exactly the same attitude as Cousin did (one he got pillared for) - 'happy to stay, happy to go'. Which is fine by me and I can respect that. Just hope he stays, of course.

No one for sure. But it seems curious that Arveladze had to 'give up' on Boyd rather than presumably being told from the off that he wasn't interested. I'm only playing devil's advocate, I know as much as anyone else on this.

We're still talking about Lovenkrands, Ferguson et al long after they left. I cannot see Boyd discussion ending any time soon.

I've praised his goalscoring exploits far more than I've ever been credited with. I just don't rate him in the way his core supporters among our fans do. You guys will defend him, while others like me will make no apology for not idolising him. And all I was saying is that you will continue to defend him, while we'll continue not to. But there's no point in continuing to bitch about it, he's gone and that's it.

Could have just said that couldn't he? Rather than leaving Arveladze in limbo by stalling, he could have just been straight up honest and said 'no, I don't want to join your team'. A bit too trivial to be a valid example, but to make it accurate your scenario should include ignoring their texts or calls or maybe getting another m8 to get in touch with them saying you might not be out.
