  1. When folk dislike behaviour on forums, it tends to be the cheap way out to suggest that it's 'different in the real world'. Well if someone came up to me in the real world and asked me for an opinion, it would not differ from what I'd say on a forum. The only difference is online you get time to consider your response and to make it succinct. So while the way the opinion is delivered differs, the opinion itself does not. So, yes, I'd say RM, this, VB, FF...are indeed all representative of the Rangers support because it's the Rangers support on them. Different areas of it yes, but the Rangers support.
  2. I stand by everything I said before - because on those occasions he was being relied on as our figurehead striker in Miller and Boyd's absence - one thing I didn't bargain on when I critised his latter displays there was that he can't handle pressure. And clearly he can't. But take the grief off him and he's a different dude. That's my story and I'm sticking to it
  3. RM and FF hate each other. Ok, we get it, they don't like each other and won't send one another Xmas cards. Do we need to retread this all the time?
  4. By the same logic then Thomson's only been showing form for the past 2 or 3 games - is praise of him also premature? Well, it kinda has actually. I've not seen a single word of criticism of him over the past week. Performances really can turn people. Have a little faith
  5. Not been keeping up to speed with English footie recently, so anyone know how he's doing? I know he started the last 2 games for them.
  6. I agree. I couldn't actually believe what he was doing - for once even the crowd went quiet instead of booing the felled opposition player. And yeah, Miller's was definitely a red too.
  7. That's the kind of dignified quote with no big headedness I can live with from Ibrox. I do love him calling Celtic 'them' though
  8. I'd rather people overplay his displays than call him stupid names and ask for him to depart Ibrox. Agree though that less pressure is equalling much better performances.
  9. 2 excellent displays now from him in a row - he seems to be playing in a free roaming left wing position with full licence to cut in. And the results are staggering - previously he had no conviction, composure or confidence while now he looks happy and he's far more in control of play. He made the first goal with sheer class yesterday. I don't see anyone saying 'Laugherty' now...
  10. I occasionally read the odd paper but I'm pretty close to a media blackout. Too much nonsense broadcast and published - when I do tune in or read it's for entertainment, and not for facts.
  11. Whittaker was my motm, followed by Bougherra and Lafferty.
  12. Only yesterday I was told of one guy on RM who I know quite well being told by a FF'r that he wasn't a true Rangers supporter because he didn't support the protest. And this kind of irrational nonsense is going both ways. I heard him use the word 'factions' and I'd have to agree - these large boards are essentially opposite factions. And that's no way forward for Rangers Football Club.
  13. Can't agree. He saw his long term future at Liverpool with quality like Gerrard and Torres alongside him, and was a total failure. And then he did the same on his return to Spurs. This league is a much lower standard, but Bellamy excelled wonderfully (sadly) while he was under the same circumstances as Keane is. Bellamy is just a much better player. And Keane is on a paycheck he isn't worth.
  14. That is not what a protest is. A protest is specifically protesting, to complain, to object, to voice displeasure. If you request clarity you go a completely different route to obtain it. Actually, yes they can. Through word of mouth this nonsense built up and 'protest' became the buzzword of the day. The sites this stuff propagated on, the articles promoting it, the people organising it are all responsible for all third parties who use their protest. Simply because if this stuff hadn't built up momentum, such idiotic banners wouldn't have surfaced. None of my comments are a dig at you personally or your aims, whether I agree with them or not, but this protest or whatever it was was an ill conceived notion which achieved nothing except notoriety among many fans and little to no media coverage.
  15. Quoting that timmy piece Zappa posted: Tims are generally a pretty thick bunch but occasionally one shows evidence of grey matter. This guy is pointing out what I've known (and quite possibly everyone has known) ever since half way through the WBA season in the EPL where Mowbray got his team relegated quite embarrassingly - 'Mogga' is an astoundingly stubborn manager - when asked if he'd shore up his defence during that season (after yet another 4-0 mauling) he said he'd keep on playing the way he plays. He cannot, will not and refuses to adapt per game and to the strengths of the players he has. Instead he persists with one rigid 'attacking' formation which completely negates defence - it's why even with a completely new set of players, he's getting exactly the same results as the old lot did. Hibs was his level, a decent team who were able to be in the top 4 fairly rigidly in the SPL with a really excellent collection of players (Brown, Caldwell, Zaluiska I believe, Riorden, Jones, Sproule, Whittaker, Thomson). A team which less was expected of and which really did have a group of quality players - but not one which would get close to winning the league. Put him in a much better league (EPL) and he drowned, put him in charge of Celtic and he's going even deeper. He is indeed fundamentally flawed, and I sincerely hope he stays in the job for years to come.
  16. You may be fishing, but.... He's not even the best striker at Celtic. He's already past his best - his purple patch was his first spell at Spurs where he bordered on world class. Since he left he's been declining in ability and even though 'Arry re-signed him, I think he realises that was an error of judgement given he's their 4th or 5th choice striker. Nowadays he's an ordinary striker who could get 15-20 a season in the SPL and is worth 15-20K a week. His wage is beyond a waste. I'd argue both Rasmussen and Kamara are doing much better than he is so far.
  17. Couldn't agree more. The bosses of both are more interested in their boards and their selves (and bandwidth) than the club. Egos took over a long time ago. I felt the protest was a pointless exercise, ignored by everyone, as it should have been. I considered it slightly pretentious and not actually coherent - if it was against Muir, then it shouldn't have been a protest - but a dignified request for dialogue from him or someone from the club who could represent him and his intentions - demonising him just makes these protestors look ignorant and foolish. If it was against Lloyds, then it was a incohesive shambles because Lloyds are keeping us from drowning - we might be in vicious debt but we're some distance from going into administration. So, what were these clowns protesting, exactly?
  18. He never scores in the bloody things anyway so when Crocker claimed he was suspended, I honestly wasn't that bothered. He's not quite fully fit yet and I doubt he'd make much impact in that match. Be happy for him to make me eat my words.
  19. Problem is both of these forums are so agenda ridden that anything posted on them nowadays has an ulterior motive and it often undermines any nugget of wisdom said article contains. Did it not strike you as fishy that on the eve of a crucial game, one of them posts an article like this - even if you didn't know that said article was clearly done to upset the other, the mere close to the bone nature of it should have been left till post-game regardless.
  20. Both of these forums are cut from the the same cloth. I'm sure both of them started out as good balanced places where eclectic thinking and wide varied views were encouraged (I know at least one of them was) but nowadays they've grown into monstrosities - one of them is the big boy and the trendsetter, the other was the new pup which wanted to be a radical and valid alternative to it, but in it's desperate pursuit of the first one it's become exactly the same as it, if an inferior model. They should just merge because it would save a lot of grief. And have a fag afterwards.
  21. Wasn't it
  22. This is just yet another saga in the war between 2 rival Rangers forums who hate each others' guts and will undermine one another every chance they get. The hilarious irony is both boards are effectively the same as each other now. As bad as one another and will always be bitchslapping each other. Didn't have to be this way.
  23. Their headline: Bougherra hints at new Gers deal Then: Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra hints at new contract Despite the quotes in the story being completely neutral and him just saying 'I don't know, we'll see' the BBC have managed to put on a surprisingly pro-Rangers spin to the story by implying it means he's staying. I'd have bet my bawsack that their headline to that story would have been 'Bougherra considering his options' at best or 'Bougherra may leave'. Sometimes even the BBC can surprise you.
  24. I wish he'd just shut up and play football. He's a player I don't want to hear anything from.
  25. I should have seen this coming tbh. Well, the same guy said Keane is the biggest star to ever play in the SPL. He is a raging, raging little tim and he will do all he can to help them win the league.
