    The bookies

I'm no gambling man, but I did hear the bookies went nuts when the Messiah signed for timmy - reducing their odds from 6-1 to 1-2 apparently. If I've got my numbers right. Now I see it's Rangers back to 2-9 and timmy's 7-2. All in the space of 90 minutes. It seems everyone apart from a few sensible guys on here bought into the Keane Messiah nonsense. I admit I was slightly envious of such a big name, but I was more bothered that we hadn't done anything, rather than what they HAD done. Because, and this is what I've been saying to anyone who will listen - you could give Celtic Messi, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Fabregas, Gerrard, Pirlo and Pato - and they'd still be managed by Tony Mowbray. We are very, very lucky to have Smith - he may drive us nuts at times, but he's the best manager the SPL has had along with MON in the past decade.
  2. Naysmith's woman is that hot huh...
  3. Ordinary. Hasn't done much of real note apart from a few reasonable linkups. And as I speak he sclaffs a pass out for a throw in. Was through on goal and forced 2 saves from the keeper but should have done better. Doesn't look worth 100k a week or whatever he's on, put it that way.
  4. This new Celtic is the same as the old one. So far.
  5. Wondered if Mr Keane is as embarrassed as he should be wearing that away kit.
  6. It is all quite subjective, I agree. I stand by Howard although I might replace Almunia with Schwarzer.
  7. Forgot Schwarzer.
  8. Van De Sar, Jaskelainen, Freidel, Reina, Given, Almunia, Gordon (if I am totally honest), Howard. McGregor is in the top 10 but the lower reaches of it. If we're going in order... Given Friedel Jaskelainen Reina Van De Sar Howard Almunia Gordon McGregor Cech is abysmal these days and wouldn't be in the top 10.
  9. I would say it's less panic and more irritation that we didn't sign anyone, as opposed to being bothered about who they did. Although I do have my eye out for the best signing they made, Braafheid. That one concerns me a little - could be the best SPL LB since Numan.
  10. I can see that being the headline in the Record tomorrow 'WALTER in DODGY 'ARRY CAN P*SS OFF SHOCKER'
  11. By British do you mean based or nationality. Because if it's 'based' then he's barely in the top 10. If it's nationality then I'd say he's joint best with Gordon because all the English and Welsh goalies are quite ruddy awful.
  12. Isn't that 'earned' as opposed to 'earns'? Are Brough still paying his wages?
  13. I think the BBC are more awful than biased. I guarantee the majority of tims think they're biased against them. That's a sign of poor reporting in general more than partiality.
  14. Original numbers were wrong? The crowd looks bigger than 500 to me.
  15. Is this fact? I've heard it before, but I've never heard it officially confirmed. It's just been hearsay.
  16. To Rangers it's a fortune. Or should I say, to our money men. That's what surprised me - that we rejected it.
  17. Looking at the video on the BBC site of the crowd at Parkhead, it looks at least somewhere in the thousands. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that 500 people are there to start with, then grow substantially in 2 hours. As much as I like a laugh at timmy's expense, that article is blue tinted to the point of blindness. So much for objective.
  18. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've seen reports, admittedly sourced to that bastion of journalistic integrity that is the Sun, that we rejected a £4M deadline day swoop for Allan McGregor from Spurs? If this is true, it's very interesting. We shipped out with glee Mendes because we have the cover, and we need the money, but for 2 or 3 times the amount we've said no to selling McGregor. If this report is true, it does seem like we're not just going to sell our assets willy nilly and at the drop of a hat. And suggests also that we value him more highly than £4M.
  19. Boruc, Wilson, McManus, Caldwell, Loovens, Fox, Naylor, Maloney, McGeady, Robson, Brown, Crosas, Samaras, McDonald. It's not the worst group of players, yet Mowbray has plunged them into their current position. Why would anyone believe he'll fare any better with this new lot? He got a decent WBA team relegated. I don't really fear any team managed by him.
  20. Who I rate infinitely higher than Keane. And yes, this point has been raised - they've already tried the glamour loan to win the title and it didn't work.
  21. That's the bit I have the problem with
  22. I agree with you. The point is you cannot talk in terms of 'if we win all our games' etc because it's not going to happen. They won't either, indeed, who knows how the league will finish. But both sides will drop points and there will probably be at least 2 more mini crises for each club before the end of the season. What I am saying is there are no black and whites regarding what will or won't happen - so talking in such terms seems futile.
  23. If only it really was as simple as saying we just need to win our remaining games against everyone who isn't Celtic. That includes another trip to Pittodrie where we've not won in 5 centuries, plus the obligatory slip ups against mediocre opposition. Yes, if we win all our non OF games we win the league. But we're not going to win every single match. Not going to happen.
  24. Window is still open. We might still get someone, you never know...
  25. He could be the best LB the SPL's seen since Numan. Let's hope he flops.
