  1. It was 2 or 3 threads on RM, FF and maybe one other. Here possibly. That was the entire campaign. I consider that embarrassing as a protest. But like you say, each to their own
  2. I love all the shouts for a protest when not one individual has clearly and concisely defined exactly what the protest is against...
  3. He denied it on Helicopter Sunday. On national TV. Maybe he was lying. Who knows.
  4. You're clearly not surprised, having presumably witnessed the embarrassing 'We Deserve Better' 'campaign' which amounted to threads on Internet forums and not a lot else. All I see here in this case is wishy washy hyperbole which is asking for money. I don't like either, and once again, the theme is anti-Lloyds when it should be 'questioning' of Muir. If the RST spokesman himself didn't really blame Lloyds and requested clarification from Muir alone, then I imagine this bizarre latest 'protest' is not being carried out by the RST. If it is, then it rather shows that said organisation is anything but organised these days.
  5. Not a Celtic fan, he was neither. His family are split down the middle apparently, and he was caught in that. Why do you think he was so gutted to lose out on a move to us - wasn't because he was a Rangers fan. It was because he wanted a big move. And he got that with Celtic.
  6. I too will exit the debate. You can bank on it
  7. Check my ratings. I thought Alexander was anything but at his best. Not that his best is that good though.
  8. It is ok for them to protect their own interests, because first and foremost they're a bank. They care about profit and turnover, not their customers well-being. It is not ok for Donald Muir to keep everyone in the dark, but the organisation as a whole has tend to their own needs before ours. As David Edgar says 'there's nothing wrong with Lloyds wanting their money back, that's fine, but Muir needs to come out publicly and state how he and they are going to do that'. And that's my stance too.
  9. You're criticising my view of the bank elsewhere, yet then agreeing with it more than once. You're very confusing.
  10. To work without a contract shows Walter, Ally and Kenny to be guys who actually care about this club and its future. It's an astonishing gesture which is beyond rare in football.
  11. Basically Edgar completely blames Muir at this point, and demands to know his intentions. He agrees with me that Lloyds are a bank and a business and are entitled to want their money back, but he wants to know Muir's blueprint for Rangers given he's on our board. I rarely say this, but I agree with him. A protest against Lloyds is misplaced, demands to know Muir's plans aren't.
  12. Edgar just said something telling: 'say the truth Lloyds, instead of saying you're here to help Rangers, say you're here to get your money back'. Doesn't this back up what I keep harping on about? That we got into this mess ourselves, and they're just wanting their cash back. They own our debt and us, they're a bank. Why would they care about our wellbeing other than our staying affloat? What the heck is a protest against? 'Lloyds, stop operating like a bank and...er...er...ok, they ARE a bank, why are we protesting?'
  13. What does it achieve other than raising tensions and folk going on radio talk shows?
  14. Speaking of numbers, why does the index say there's over a thousand users registered when the member list contains about 250?
  15. If it's all true I don't see anything wrong with it. We're in the red with a bank who have to look out for their interests. They don't care about Rangers, why would they? They're effectively stopping us drowning. They're going to block any attempt from us to spend any money, and I don't blame them. It's our own fault. As for sacking the management, well, as I said in another thread, we're lucky to have Smith. Clearly we can't afford him any more which is why he's without a contract. This is not me saying I am happy with what Lloyds are doing, but as our financial directors, it's their right to protect their own interests. It's our own fault for getting into this mess so I still don't buy the 'Lloyds are the big bad wolves' angle.
  16. The service issue would be valid if it wasn't for the fact that Miller was far better in the 4th SC match V the same team at Ibrox under similar circumstances of poor service. Maybe it is unfair to compare the two players but when you have silk, cotton's going to be judged on the same terms.
  17. His touch was heavy, he offered no threat, he didn't get himself into good positions and he just looks lost.
  18. My ratings: Alexander: 5 Didn't have to do much but was shaky with much of what he did do. Whittaker: 6 Solid enough, seemed a bit more resolute at the back than usual. Weir: 6 Decent organisation but was fortunate not to score an OG Wilson: 6 Largely untested but did his job well enough. Smith: 6 His usual performance; quiet and unimposing but didn't do much wrong. Fleck: 7 His most promising night for some time - showed a lot of willingness to get stuck in and his mazy dribble near the end was impressive. Davis: 8 Excellent night's work for the best player in the side currently. Working constantly, passing, moving, and capped it all with a goal. McCulloch: 8 Doesn't get enough credit for the work he does, and will always be viewed as unglamorous, but his contribution is as important to Davis. Thomson: 6 Marginally improved, slightly more involved in the engine room but still not giving enough and his yellow card was stupid. Lafferty: 4 Not even a shadow of the player I saw glimpses of last year. Absolutely abysmal. Novo: 6 An above average night - not terrific from him but not awful either - maybe should have scored but will always be a tireless worker.
  19. You were the better team at Killie, Robbie? I beg to differ.
  20. Smith needs to stop scaremongering. Whether it's correct what he's saying or not, it's not helping the fans to hear that things are going to get worse. He's obviously pandering to a new owner, trying to make someone do something, but he could keep such information private and for the ears of potential investors. Making the fans edgy like this is unwise.
  21. I saw posts in another thread which alluded to a very important issue and one I think any protest is overlooking; what exactly is it we're protesting against? Lloyds effectively own us because we have borrowed money we couldn't afford, and when you buy a company's debt, that means you own that company. Lloyds are protecting their own business interests, which is absolutely their prerogative; and they are not obviously doing anything to kill Rangers. We have no money, but that is our fault, not Lloyds. Why are we so angry with them when they're just a bank doing business and running things prudently to their own infrastructure? They seem to be ensuring we're safe for now, and presumably will do so till we get a new owner - otherwise we stay in the current rut, not growing or improving but not dying off either. So, I ask again, and I am willing to be educated on this; exactly what are Lloyds doing which is so utterly awful and deserves protest?
  22. It's lazy journalism and it sells more papers and gets more hits if you use the word 'sectarianism'.
  23. Danny

    The bookies

Bet Killie would still rape 'em The signing I am/was most 'bothered' by was Braafheid.
  24. I'd say they have a better squad tbh. We have a better team though and crucially a better manager.
  25. They're not normal.
