Speaking of Rangers hating individuals, I noticed Maguire's column in the Times and was shocked that it almost verged on slagging off Celtic. It wasn't exactly brutal slaying, but it rather demeaned them by saying the likes of Owen Coyle consider Celtic a no no compared to an English 'giant' like Bolton. Of course he then included a snippet about Lafferty which was more true to form - mind you, it was barely as harsh as some of the stinging comments I've seen on here. So all ye of little faith towards Lafferty, just think, you're espousing much the same harsh rhetoric Rangers-hating tims do.

Obviously I worded it far better

Chuckie Egg was on the Spectrum too iirc. And I never played Elite but a friend used to be obsessed with it. -
The first bit to the end You go on about 'either he was rich or poor'. Well, no, he was at Ibrox for 4 and a half years and engaged spells of both having cash (Boumsong's fee which bought the Fergusons and Kyrgiakoses of this world) and of having nothing hence guys like Ostenstad joining for free. It was a mixture - he didn't have cash every transfer window, nor was he reliant on bosmans every window. That's why your post is so confusing.

Kyle Lafferty opens his heart on debt claims - and Old Firm horror tackle
Danny replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Oh I know it was a wind up, I was just trying to clarify exactly where I stand as I sense people on here see me as some kind of treasurer of the Kyle Lafferty Fanclub, where it's not the case at all -
Maybe I'm intellectually vacant but this post made little sense to me

Such as when he got on up front V Motherwell the other week and scored 2? No he hasn't. So if you forced Miller out on the left wing for a season+ you'd just expect him to become the ghost of Giggs? Yeah, there is. He can't do it on the wing just like Lovenrkands couldn't (hat trick yesterday for Newcastle when played as a striker). He can do it up front - scored 2 V Motherwell as a striker. -
I didn't say he had. I said the paper did. And I'm asking them not to.

So the whole 'bank was running the club' statement...

I am no economist but the fact we're in debt to the tune of 31M or so to Lloyds means they own us. They run us because if you own or buy an organisation's debt, you own the organisation as such. Like Abramovich immediately owned Chelsea because he instantly paid the 150M debt they owed. Or are my sums off here? -
Because he's not my chief, nor yours, nor the majority of fans - he doesn't speak for anyone who hasn't paid his organisation's member membership. And I am pedantic when necessary I've agreed with him once or twice too, but that doesn't mean I want him to speak 'on my behalf'.

There's a reason you're at Hearts m8.

I wish articles like this wouldn't label Edgar as the 'fans chief'. He's the RST spokesman who speaks for a few thousand paying members. Or do I have my facts wrong?

Benitez famously said Liverpool was a 5 year project, that he would expect to be challenging for the title within 5 years. He punched above his weight with 2 CL finals including that win in his inaugural year, but right now, 5 or 6 years on, his Liverpool side has been wiped out of the CL, the FA Cup, the Premier League and Credibility League. Injuries aren't helping him, but the fact that a supposed top team only has 3 marquee players (Torres, Gerrard and Mascherano) really isn't good enough. Too many good and average players and not enough brilliant ones. He's turning into the second Houllier coming, and fast. Amazed he's still in the job tbh.

I have rarely had so much sympathy for a player of a team I don't support, but that run was gagging for the finish. Crying shame he didn't put it away.

Kyle Lafferty opens his heart on debt claims - and Old Firm horror tackle

Curious really. It seems the player gets the blame when you don't like the player, but if it was a Miller, or McGregor, or a Boyd, you'd defend them to the hilt and blame the newspaper for manipulating their words. Disgraceful is an exceptionally emotional and wholly innaccurate not to mention unfair word. Especially as you hit the nail on the head in your first sentence as to why his displays on the left have been underwhelming. Would you expect Boyd to excel on the left of midfield? -

I prefer plenty of Rangers players to Lafferty. Davis, Miller, McGregor, even Boyd these days. What I can't stand is supposed supporters giving a 22 year old guy such a torrid time when they're on the same side as him. I can't stand Bougherra thanks to his attitude and recent conduct towards the club, and I want shot of him, but I support him fundamentally as a Rangers player and give him 100% backing on the pitch regardless of my personal feelings about his character. I feel Lafferty isn't afforded this luxury by those who feel about him the way I do about Bougherra. -
What, like the 2 he got against Motherwell? And besides, why would you expect goalscoring form when he's been getting played on the left side of midfield? It's unreasonable views like yours which condemns him before a ball is kicked.
-
The guy had no money. When he did have cash he bought the players who won the league and qualified for the last 16 of the CL. I wanted rid of him as much as the next guy, as the tail end of his reign was beyond appalling, but I think it's unfair to castigate his dealings in the transfer market when he had so little to spend.

Very good player who always caused us problems in OF games. Great left peg, extremely strong, good on set plays and useful in the air. One I'm very glad has gone.

Ah, at last we agree on something Now...about Lafferty...
-
I said I don't expect him to get any if he merits it from the likes of yourself over the next month or two. We're clearly not going to agree on where I believe he deserves credit up till now.
-
Maybe because he's rarely been played as a settled front man. Most often been played on the left of a 3 prong attack, or as a bloody winger. Unlike Norn Iron, where he plays as a striker he's got about 7 or 8 goals in 20 appearances including subs. Not bad for a weak team which didn't qualify for the WC.

Having languid posture doesn't make you lazy. I suspect it isn't.
