  1. Maybe he didn't mean the word sue - because what is it Arsenal are supposed to have threatened to do regarding Eduardo, which led to the ban being overturned?
  2. I resent fans who give Lafferty abuse when they should be taking him playing out of position into consideration. But they don't. Same guys gave PL abuse when he too was wasted on the wing rather than up front. And I seem to recall even Arveladze didn't get an easy ride when he too was isolated on the left. So this is just another thread giving Lafferty abuse for the sake of doing so.
  3. To address some of the points about personnel that you made... I was slightly concerned when Edu came on, that instead of replacing McCulloch (which would have been sensible given the card tightrope he's on) he replaced Lafferty, which meant Davis getting shunted out wide again to accommodate McCulloch and Edu in the middle. I sincerely hope he doesn't play there in either of the next 2 matches. Regarding Novo, it's easily the best form he's been in in his entire Rangers career - but historically he has always done his best work from the bench. If he can keep this up then great, but I have my doubts that he's a long term solution starting. Lastly, Boyd and Miller had a purple patch together last season up till about the start of December, and then it dried up for them, Miller especially. Miller's a form player, slightly inconsistent and when he's good he's one of our best players. But when he goes out of form he's a waste of a shirt. Lafferty hasn't ever been given an extended run up front, and when Miller loses form again, as he will, I'd like to see Kyle replace him - give him a chance when one arises. This is by no means me being negative, I just know our recent history, and as wonderful as this run is, I urge a note of caution - only a few months ago our club was almost out of business and had no defenders - suddenly we're on a surge of form and healthier than lettuce. Let us try to calm down with the joy and keep our feet on the ground
  4. I've seen comments about teams lying down to us. wtf. Do they seriously believe teams with as much to play for as Utd and Hibs just decided prior to the games to just 'have a fag'.
  5. I've described Lee as maybe our best performer this season. I do, however, love Edu and I think his ability in the crucial run in last season, coming in from the cold as he did last season, oddly enough at Easter Road (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=265032&league=SCO.1&cc=5739), where we won 3-2 including the winning goal from him suggests that your fears are unfounded. I think we're well fitted whichever player features, but I believe it would be in our interests to use players in a pre-planned manner rather than having contingency plans in the event of suspensions. Edu proved last year he doesn't need 'game time' - he's an athlete, possibly one of the best we have, and if he is fit, he is ready.
  6. Didn't Ally say Lee was being saved for the OF game, which is why he didn't start that mauling of Motherwell? He's on a suspension threshold which another booking would give him 2 games out, I believe, hence he'd have missed both Hibs and Celtic had he got a card. So if the same concept applies, then why would he start tomorrow if he was being saved for OF to avoid a booking? Ally implied he's a cert to start at the Meccanodome; if he starts tomorrow, that is in jeopardy. The above is from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/scottishpremier/rangers/6841155/Jerome-Rothen-can-return-to-France-in-January-says-Rangers-manager-Walter-Smith.html
  7. If that goal had been against us we'd have been screaming handball. My opinion is if you handle it in the box and that leads to a goal, it should be chopped off. And I mean the goal, not the hand.
  8. I did hear praise for him, and yet I watched the game and he barely seemed to get on the ball. But yes, Birmingham are having an absolutely amazing season. So far.
  9. I gave you one. I just can't remember the defender's name. And I will be watching him like a hawk - and I swear if John Hughes runs on the pitch and leaves him for dead, you'll have a lot to answer for!
  10. Nah, have to disagree - Broadfoot looks slimmer, and stronger. This isn't the heart talking - I remember how bad he was before, and he doesn't resemble that player on any level to me. I think it's happened because all he's been able to focus on has been fitness - so he's lost some weight and is stronger. But we can't really say one another is right or wrong - this is an issue of perception, as so much of football is, and it's just an opinion. I wouldn't call yours or S_A's complete nonsense though
  11. Is it really fair to call an opinion you disagree with 'complete nonsense'? I take exception to that. As for the rest, McGeady has never done it against Rangers regardless of which right back we had playing. And for sheer pace, I recall Broadfoot being completely easily outpaced by either a UTD or Motherwell defender in a straight chase for the ball at the opposition half. He didn't get close. I don't ever recall him being fast.
  12. True on the first part. But Celtic are so bad and Hamilton aren't completely mugs that you never know.
  13. I mean about the idea of Arsenal threatening legal action.
  14. Rest have been shocking. Until 4 games ago. But I disagree that he's been our best player this season, that honour goes to AM, Kenny Miller, or, shockingly, Lee McCulloch for me. Boyd also contends.
  15. What I didn't fully understand is I've seen no sources or stories about this. Just a vague post making claims.
  16. Not sure, because Broadfoot got injured and Whittaker's introduction led to a very rich vein of form from him till the end of last season. It's this year alone he's been horrible.
  17. These days it seems to mean a player who would probably have been good enough for the 9IAR team. Which means quite an eclectic mix of ability tbh... Agreed. He looks a different player, leaner, sharper, and more agile. Still as slow as a day in Bar L mind you. Is done for pace by most.
  18. Don't want to see any Ranger injured, but Thomson's been atrocious and is no miss at all. Sincerely hope Mo starts tomorrow.
  19. He's been fairly poor this season, mind elsewhere. I'd rather Wilson was in regardless of Bougherra.
  20. This is just trying to put pressure on Conroy before a ball is even kicked. You know Mowbray's getting desperate when he resorts to something as vacuous as this.
  21. Erm, why did you move there then...
  22. Picking holes in the guy's comments is like water through a sieve.
  23. He works for BBC these days I think - his pointless drivel can be heard regularly on Sportsound. Like his brother he has had his peak, and continues to hover in the game's periphery - one was a respected commentator for the BBC and is now struggling on Setanta Pluto, and the other did well for his country as a coach but hasn't exactly had a zenith since then, and wants to be taken seriously despite all that.
  24. I don't understand this thread.
