  1. Yes, I am taking time out from pinging 40-yard raking passes up to Kenny to talk to you chaps
  2. I'd argue said young player and McGregor have been the best Rangers players for the past month or two. Not a high accolade, true, but an accurate one.
  3. I think we'll probably break even on him. His ego makes him think he's more wanted than he actually is. He's gone on about wanting something bigger and better from the start, but the truth is he isn't actually THAT good to deserve it. If we can get £3M for him I'd be happy with that.
  4. There are a few among our support who still favour him but the majority would be glad to see the back of him. Not bad at all cheers Frankie, hope you are too
  5. I doubt there are many Rangers fans who have a genuine bone to pick with Smith - he's a boss who commands a great deal of respect, even from that midden across the city. The problem appears to be nothing more than his era coming to an end. 9IAR was a fantastic time and he worked miracles, domestically at least. And since returning, we peaked between seasons 07/08 and last season. Now we're declining thanks to many causes, Smith being one of them. The team is poor, his team, the team he spent a fortune on - his tactics, chosen by him, are poor. The quality of football is scandalous at times, and he resembles a boss who is now merely steering the ship through icebergs rather than aiming for a destination. Walter Smith is not the only thing going wrong at Ibrox, but he is one of them.
  6. When a player appears to cause this level of dressing room disharmony, their position at the club becomes increasingly untenable. He might not want to leave, which I find unlikely, but if a decent bid comes in I think we'll as much push him out as he will willingly go.
  7. It's not even as long as a year. It's 4 months - till january.
  8. I don't think any of them should be dropped - Rod's been decent, Svensson's had a rocky start and needs time, and Smith has been sound. Hutton is our only option at right back other than Lowing. Hutton was an absolute bombscare in that game. He became less bad as the game progressed as opposed to improving. Next to Marv in Cyprus it was one of the worst defensive performances from a Rangers player I can remember. I utterly disagree he kept Riquelme quiet - as I recall Riquelme looked every inch a multi million pound player that night. A total artist. A full back is supposed to defend stoutly and move forward with gusto. Hutton does neither of these. He timidly receives the ball in his own half and either aimlessly punts it forward or tries a cute pass. He then considers turning back and giving it to a centre back. Completely aimless and it is going nowhere. He doesn't have any conviction on the ball - any solid opposition to him and he loses the ball. Compare him with Smith who looks focused, determined, solid on the ball and has drive to go forward. I think it summed him up yesterday when he picked the ball up before it even went out, and ended up being a handball against him. When was the last time he attempted a cross? I have nothing against the boy personally, I just see nothing in his play to suggest he's got a real future at Rangers. I believe he is in because we have no alternatives.
  9. This weekend is coming at the right time. The start we've had reminds me of our awful start in 89/90 when we lost our opening two matches then had a trip to Parkhead. We drew that day. I think we can go one better this time. I have a feeling PLG will really get it right this weekend and we'll overcome Hertz to truly set the league's cat amongst the pigeons. Triumph in the face of adversity - that's the way I'm seeing it. It will be a hard, hard match, but hopefully victory will shut up the moronic dissenters. If we don't win, it's not the end of the world though - the last thing we'd need is yet more idiotic calls for PLG's head. This new regime is taking a while to settle - it deserves time.
  10. Maybe he has the right to have a chance, but do you honestly feel he's vindicated it? I don't. My heart sinks when I see him on the ball - I just know he's either going to lose it or punt it forward aimlessly. He's not a player I have any faith in to get any better. Don't get me wrong, I continuously support him and would never get on his back as I would any other Rangers player, but I know deep down he doesn't cut it - his performances have done nothing to alter that opinion. Well you're the only person I know of who has any kind of praise for the way he's playing - this is not meant to disrespect your opinion as less valid, just calling it as I've found it. Hutton continues to be so mediocre it's untrue. I seriously ain't seeing the same thing you are.
  11. Other than being so average it's painful. He's been back from injury for a very long time and hasn't given any sign he's ever going to get any better than the absolute mediocrity he's been at since his return. Occasionally he has given glimpses of a slightly better performance, but overall he's nowhere near Rangers class and you're the first and only person I've seen to support his current inclusion in the side on merit, rather than because we simply have no other option. Right back is a position which horrendously badly needs strengthened - Hutton is never going to be the answer to that slot.
  12. So why did it struggle to draw with Dundee Utd? In reply to the original post I find it absolutely unreal that any supporter would be having a go at PLG and can only describe anyone who gets on his back as an unmitigated moron who doesn't understand the first thing about football. I expected miracles, I admit it, I thought we'd be playing exceptional football and killing teams off with 5-0 drubbings all the time. That hasn't happened and like every other bear we need to be patient. Unlike what I thought, this *isn't* an overnight job and will take time - I accept this wholeheartedly and am willing to give the team and the boss the time they need to turn this around and turn us into championship contenders.
  13. You have every right to your opinion. That is all I will say in rebuttal.
  14. Pretty boring game. St Mirren hardly threatened, Celtic looked comfortable throughout without excelling in any way. Caldwell continues to look mince, and Miller continues to work hard without ever scoring. Celtic have started the season rather patchily.
  15. Neil Lennon has been entirely 'dropped' from the Celtic squad, and once again Stephen McManus has been given the captain's armband. 2 stories have emerged from Chick Young: 1: He was escorted from the stadium in temper 2: He actually just has a hamstring injury. Also interestingly the top 3 sides with 100% records (and Celtic) all play each other today - so some things have to give today which can only play into our hands.
  16. I think they're going be fairly convincingly beaten. The 3rd best team in Greece will be absolutely no pushovers and too many folk seem to think Hertz have a real chance of making the group stage. Well, if they do, I for one will applaud them because I'll be bloody amazed if they can win either leg. I think Gretna are capable of pulling off a real shock. Their spirit and determination is superb and they've really captured our imagination. They seem to be well organised and with plenty of former SPL players in their ranks they're definitely well prepared for this.
  17. I still rate Campbell highly. And correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he have a fine CL final?
  18. Presumably because he thought Martin was a striker.
  19. Yes he is.

    PLG incident

Rangers manager Paul Le Guen was confronted by rival fans after watching Celtic's match at Hearts, police said. The Frenchman was verbally abused by supporters as he left Tynecastle Stadium in Edinburgh on Sunday. Police confirmed they received reports of an incident involving the coach, who joined the Glasgow club in the summer. The manager was spat at, had his windscreen obscured and was flashed at by a Celtic fan, according to the Scottish Daily Mirror. He was said to have been spotted by Celtic fans, who had just seen their team lose 2-1, near a school on McLeod Street which is used as a car park on matchdays. Le Guen, who was reportedly with his assistant Yves Colleau and other members of his staff, was understood to have then been verbally abused by a group of fans. The paper reported a newspaper was thrust across his windscreen as he tried to drive away after a fan spat at him. A supporter is understood to have then exposed himself to the former Lyon coach. A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police confirmed that officers attended an incident at the stadium's car park after the game. The force said Le Guen was subjected to "banter and backchat". She added no complaint had been received and by the time officers arrived Le Guen had gone. A spokeswoman for Rangers declined to comment.
  21. We've been linked with him for the best part of a week now. None of the Man Utd players were anything less than excellent against Celtic, so I'd be happy for us to take him.
  22. When you were his age I'm surprised you could read
  23. We'll need to frame it for posterity (Not the jersey, the moment)
  24. Their away top this season is a vomit stained mess of putridness. It's quite vile mixture of puke green and black and makes me nauseous whenever I look at it. It is close to being the most loathsome football jersey I have ever seen.
  25. You clearly want Smith and Hutton dropped and you're blatantly condemning the performances of both as weak, pathetic, and more suited to a Celtic jersey. . . . . . . . . . . . . . And for those with brains smaller than a grape, yes, this was sarcasm.
