tbph it probably *wasn't* wise for him to walk through them, but at the same time in this day and age, fans should at least have manners when it comes to those on the 'other side' just doing their job. Especially those ones who have done nothing to them?

He's a big boy and surely he wouldn't quit on the basis of Celtic fans giving him abuse? Yup, unfortunately we have a minority in our own support who would do the same to the likes of Lennon under similar circumstances, given half the chance.

Fellow Gers fans ..... it's time to make the right decision
Danny replied to Falkirk Jim's topic in Rangers Chat
The fans behaved themselves impeccably, and I heard no obvious sectarianism, certainly not any Billy Boys' renditions. Moving forward hopefully, but the acid test is the first OF game. -
Personally I believe only Rangers tops should be worn to a Rangers game, but I'm not going to condemn someone for wearing a different top. I do find it strange, as they're supposed to display their support for the team they're watching, not another, but if they feel strongly enough that they have to wear an alternative football jersey, there's not a lot I can do and it is a free country after all.

I'm sorry m8, but this is just incorrect. Yes, he did say he went to the game and listened out for sectarian chants, but he asserted he heard none. There was also a Rangers fan on there (who was on in the first half an hour, I know because I listened to the lot) who said he *did* hear Hello Hello on the radio, and Traynor disputed this. Strongly. Traynor did not propagate any negativity around Rangers; this game WAS a massive test for those who want to hurt our club by being bigoted, and the attention of the media and Uefa was definitely on the game. I see nothing wrong with members of the media paying special attention to see if our fans behave themselves. That is, after all, part of their job. I don't much care for Traynor - he's a tabloid tittle merchant who writes garbage in his scummy newspaper - but I saw no gripe with him on this issue.

I'm going to reply to it directly now.

Yes, I agree with this. The great teams have a strong pool in the middle of the back 4 - Chelsea have Gallas, Terry and Carvalho, Milan have Simic, Nesta, Kaladze and they want to bring in others. Hell, even Celtic have depth in there: Balde, McManus, Caldwell, Varga.
-
No argument here. Hell, even *I* don't know what to believe any more. Just passing on the message of what I was told.
-
Thing is I think/hope Celtic would do the honourable thing and disassociate themselves from such odious individuals and remove their season tickets if this story turns out to be true. So while these vermin claim to support Celtic, what they're really doing is tarnishing the club's name with such acts like these, and surely Celtic would distance themselves from people like that.
-
A fella who's close friends include Arthur Numan and Graeme Roberts. He is quite close to Ibrox. I do agree, but this guy would be the best one to ask tbh.
-
To be fair though we're not talking about all the Celtic fans in one sweeping generality, just a minority of absolute scum. But those who may be guilty of this if true should be punished to the highest level.
-
I know Svensson hasn't started too well but I would rather we stick with him and he comes good, like Rod did. I suppose we need backup though, and as you say Webster would be ok in that vein. I just think he lacks as a first choice centre half.
-
Good on you, you're clearly one of the more fair minded and decent Celtic fans. Unfortunately loud taunts of 'Sad Orange Bastard' at Parkhead during one or two OF games suggest otherwise. Well you've brought in quite a few players, but if I'm truthful none of them have impressed me. I initially though Jarosik was a good buy, but he was non-existent today. And your Scottish new boys are having mixed fortunes so far. Miller's working hard but isn't getting much in the way of a break. Caldwell's been awful. Sno actually looks alright but isn't starting. Who else have you brought in who I've forgotten?
-
Apparently we're still interested in Webster and word is we may put in a wee cheeky last minute £400k bid for him.
-
This one's a curious affair really. On one hand you have Boruc clearly endeavouring to incite and cause trouble because he obviously knows the religious background of the OF fixture, and then proceeding not only to antagonise the Rangers fans but to disrespect his own religion in such a crass and foolish manner by using it to point score. On the other you have the point that we should have moved on from being offended by a religious gesture - hundreds of players, thousands in fact do it around the world and it's no big deal. It certainly isn't to me, and are those who condemn Boruc and who expect him to be punished also looking at the catholic Rangers players who do it as well and expect them to be punished also? I do think Boruc has bigoted tendencies in him though, and he may well cause trouble in future Celtic games for various reasons.

So I take it none of you have taken to Loyal Men in Blue?
-
Apparently he's the golden boy at Murray Park at the moment, and has thoroughly impressed PLG.
-
There is no question there's a lot of decent Celtic fans who are in it for the love of their club and the game, but a sickening minority on both sides tarnish it for the rest with such reprehensible behaviour. I mean, I could almost understand (If not condone) their hatred towards Eck - he's a Rangers supporter as a boy and Rangers through and through - but PLG? He's a Frenchman here to do a job as an exciting new challenge. What the hell has he done to deserve such vile treatment?
-
Ok, I just heard what is meant to have happened on the plane by someone who's very close to the inside of Ibrox. "Ricksen went into the bog with his polo shirt on andcame out wih a wee white lycra style t-shirt on showing off his muscles etc. He came out and started shadow boxing and posing in the mirror outside the loo. The players were in stitches He came back to his seat, lashed down some more port and got the laptop out. He was sitting next to an older guy- not a rangers employee and the old guy was sleeping and had the wee mask thing on Ricksen then pulled the mask away from his face and let it go like an elastic band -the guy near shit himself and wasn't amused The laughter at Ricksen brought a stewardess up to see what the noise was-then she saw the laptop and told him to put it off. He refused and told her to get him another drink and shut up She refused and gave him a dressing down -he then threw the water over her." Apparently PL was in his seat further back - he came and asked the older guy to go to a different seat and he put Lawrence Mcintrye and a steward beside ricksen. Seems West Brom are interested in him. That story is as reliable as any you've heard, maybe more so.
-
Seems PLG had a meeting on Wednesday with all the players, and announced that 6 players can move on. They are: Bernard Fanfan Andrews Malcolm Ricksen Hemdani Don't be surprised to see an exodus soon.
-
"they say PLG walked through the support and got gobbed on and abused -then the police made him u-turn and go a diffrerent route out becasue of the scum fans" I know you guys also have this on your front page but someone who's fairly reliable has corroborated it, so it looks like it could be true. Absolutely despicable and I hope it only spurs PLG on.

Do you realise he praised us yesterday (Saturday) and said he hear no sectarian chants whatsoever?

For the first time in ages I am content with the midfield and up front, and with Sebo coming in we look genuinely good all round there. But we do need to tighten up the defence, particularly right back, and then we'll start to look almost invincible. So bring in Sebo, a good right back - and basically I'd be happy. I would actually prefer an experienced international at left back, because while Smith is good, he's by no means the finished article and occasionally lets himself down a wee bit. But that's not to criticise him; he is, after all, still learning and he's very young.

It's become obscene how inflated the transfer market down south is. Teams are paying way over the odds for players. £8.5M for Johnson? Almost 20 for Carrick? It's beyond stupid money and these guys just aren't worth it.
