Humza Yousaf Apologises to Rangers fans - BBC deny chance to do it on show
Danny replied to Fury's topic in Rangers Chat
The banners I saw said BBC (including some disparaging generalisations based on abbreviations), not BBC Scotland. Even if there's a problem, do you just fire all your employees you believe to have an agenda? You'd have no one left! -
LEGGAT - DAILY RECORD COMPANY MAN BACKS CELTIC IRA SONGS-Exclusive
Danny replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I guess I just wish Leggo didn't write like a failed People journalist. It's so gutter tabloid at its worst. -
You know Charlie Adam isn't doing that well at Liverpool, right? And frankly I wasn't that impressed with him at Blackpool either. Anyone, opinions of Charlie Adam aside, you've failed to convince me that Sone Aluko is a decent player. That said we don't need a 'decent SPL player' - we need something a bit better because we already have quite a lot of better than decent SPL players.

He failed badly at Birmingham. I dunno, someone who does well for Aberdeen but has a completely inconspicuous career otherwise doesn't inspire me hugely.

QC Paul McBride urges Celtic to get tough on Green Brigade fans
Danny replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
I think 'illicit' is about the most accurate term you could use. It's not political, it's not sectarian - it's based on terrorism. Ok, maybe you could call it 'terrorist' chanting. -
Literally not seen a thing on here about our current trialist? Apologies if I missed it. Regardless, I'm not overly thrilled about an Aberdeen reject potentially joining us - but I'm beginning to trust Ally's judgement so I guess we'll see how it goes.

Humza Yousaf Apologises to Rangers fans - BBC deny chance to do it on show

Fairly sensible post. All this anti BBC stuff does seem to suggest the entire corporation is corrupt. The 'protest' should really specify it's the Scottish section certain people have a problem with. -
I never really had interest in religion - as a kid I hated it and was cajoled into conforming by my parents. Once I hit my teen years I abandoned it entirely - only observing its protocols for funerals.

It just seems to me there's been a reduction in the last 10 years in the quality of the media, coinciding neatly with the rise of Internet content - and now broadcasters and newspapers who once reported pure facts and kept news grounded are now willing to report anything to compete with said Internet bloggers etc. We may well be suffering from this, as I'm sure timmy possibly is too - and it's given rise to feeling like we're being targeted. Because we possibly are - maybe not because of an anti Rangers agenda, but because we're a good target and talking about us gets hits and viewers. Just like if some tabloid IRA-focused Celtic programme was to be broadcast, it too would be lapped up by the masses. I suppose that makes us bloggers, forum users etc culpible. Price you pay for a democracy I guess.

Opportunity Knocks For The Scottish Government And Media To Help UEFA
Danny replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Well it looks like I'm the one who said it, so would appreciate it being removed. You powerful admin deleter you! -
Thought I'd have a go at dipping my toes into this very topical subject. http://ibroxnoise.blogspot.com/2011/11/internet-media.html

Some incredibly shite responses about one of our own. I'm not usually one of those partizan fans who says 'support your blue brother' etc but in this case the anti Gazza comments condemning him are honestly beyond the pale. The guy is an alcoholic, and like any mental illness, you have zero control over that addiction. All you can do is fight it every single day, and he's gone off the rails more than once - he blames no one but himself but rightly points out he's at the mercy of a disease which controls him, just like any mental illness. Depression, anxiety, alcoholism, schizophrenia, DID etc...anyone who condemns a sufferer of one of these and regards them as responsible for their own actions is no more saying that someone who has a cold is responsible for sneezing. I'm truly annoyed at some attitudes in this thread.

There are very few religions who care about those outside that religion Allan.

And what you're both saying is any figure which paints Catholics as anything above a minority is a lie?
-
So what you're basically saying is Catholics are evil?
-
Is this the same Chick Young who's been laughed at for years for pretending to be a St Mirren fan while he really supports Rangers? While I will admit all is not well in the media at the moment (when is it ever tbh) certain people are just sounding more and more laughable with their paranoid comments.

Opportunity Knocks For The Scottish Government And Media To Help UEFA
Danny replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Maybe I'm missing something horribly, but the comment attributed to me is not what I said. -
I didn't say tiny, I said minority. Scotland is a majority Protestant nation. I don't know the exact figures but the fact is catholics are considerably less than protestants.

Opportunity Knocks For The Scottish Government And Media To Help UEFA
Danny replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
I try to avoid getting embroiled in the politics of all this, but I completely agree that if we're being hounded by Uefa, Celtic's terrorist glorification bullshit should be equally stamped out if not more so. -
One wee point; why would the media prioritise a minority football club? Surelty the mass media, if anything, would favour the majority club? Catholics/republicans/Irish are in the total minority in Scotland, so why would any organisation pander to them?

What qualifies for you as conclusive evidence?

Does this mean he has a case to answer? If he was innocent, and these accusations were made, then he'd have nothing to hide surely and could sue happily. I guess this thread just underlines the rather negative feelings in my thread about the current regime.

BBC are carrying it too. Guess this thread is moot now then!

I think I've managed to alter it the way I was wanting it. That said, I'm not sure Blogspot and Gersnet are the same in terms of interface.

Now I know this isn't strictly a Rangers story, but it's relevant to what's going on at the moment. Celtic fans are under investigation by Uefa for 'offensive' chanting at Rennes. What I find a bit strange is not only the BBC aren't interested in reporting it, but it seems no one else is either. When I heard about this story not making the Beeb website, I was ready to accept certain possibilities about the BBC having an anti Rangers and maybe pro Celtic agenda. But that STV nor anyone else carries it either is a very strange situation indeed. The only outlet looking at it is a fairly low key story from the Sun. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/3931165/Celtic-UEFA-probe-over-hate-songs.html
