  1. How do you watch films and DVDs/Blu Rays etc? Or do you not bother with them either?
  2. 5 players of note to talk about, mostly very positive indeed. 1: Sasa Papac - since the signing of Wallace the Bosnian's game has improved tenfold. His block on the line yesterday was top class and he was involved with a lot of good work at the back. I'm quite happy seeing him in the team these days - it's as if he's been in an easy comfort zone for too long, never extending himself - but now he is and the improvement is drastic. 2: Steven Whittaker. Had a truly awful start to the season, and became a figure of 'dislike' shall we say. But has steadly got his game together over the past 3 or 4 matches and imho was the MOTM against St Mirren. Looking much better, and more worth the wages he's getting. 3: Carlos Bocanegra. What the American lacks in height and strength he makes up for with absolutely superb positional sense and cracking use of the ball. His lob for Jelavic yesterday has barely been mentioned, but was pinpoint. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time and makes timely interventions regularly. He doesn't go sliding in much, and lacks muscle, but has a lot of intelligence and that more than makes up for it. 4: Dorin Goian. Here's another Goian fact for you - he's a bargain. Ally really excelled himself bringing in a high quality Romanian stopper for such a low price. Goian doesn't quite class as a 'bruiser' but he's a strong, fit, and agile CB who is not scared to put his foot in and times his tackles brilliantly. He's also very good in the air. Along with Carlos we have a truly superb central defence. 5: Lee Wallace. Been a little unlucky with injury so far, but shown what he can do in patches. Very dynamic full back - his defensive game isn't imperious by any means but like Hutton in days gone by he gets forward with aplomb and gives us a good balance on the left when he plays. Is this why we've conceded only 4 goals this season? Could well be. It's the best defence we've had for some time. And there's Bartley in reserve! Also think David Weir is well and truly being faded out now. After being used against Liverpool he was axed again from the squad on Sunday.
  3. And risk a thousand pound fine for it? Don't think so.
  4. I didn't quite pick that up from it tbh. Whatever Whyte's background, whether whyter than whyte (see what I did there) or shadey as fuck, all I can hope is that it doesn't affect the running of the club in the long run. That we are truly safe in his hands. He hasn't earned my trust yet, nowhere near it. Until he does I'll be dubious about this regime at best. The most positive thing I can say is we look excellent in the SPL and that's pleasing.
  5. It has always bothered me how the 'TV' license is a forced subscription to the BBC.
  6. Who has actually gone through with this? Aka - no longer watching BBC, their news, their regional news, or any radio coverage of theirs? Or any programmes on the BBC? Where do you all stand here? I saw one post from someone who professes to despise the BBC, yet even he was still listening to Sportsound, so what about the rest of you?

    Bbc

Do you think BBC England give a shit about Scottish football? If there's a problem, and I am not agreeing there is, it's with BBC Scotland.
  8. I take it RS had no Rangers commentary yesterday?
  9. Hate Utd, loved this match. But it's only October - remember Chelsea's capitulation last season after a blistering start? City are the best team in England right now, but that can change in the blink of an eye.
  10. Whether I agree with that or not, they have not made a programme like this before. And that's what I said.
  11. If it's all about attacking Rangers then why haven't they done anything like this before on the club? With the financial mess we've been in for years, they could easily have made a programme attacking our financial mismanagement and other things long before now. It's about Whyte, and the programme was not named correctly.
  12. Taking that example further, Croatia are a far far better team than Norn Iron, yet Healy's scored far more in said team. Meh, apples and oranges I suppose.
  13. Harder to score for your country than your club. I'm not saying Healy's the better player, I'm just saying I don't agree with dismissing his career 'just like that'.
  14. I agree, but that doesn't alter the fact that they're not exactly lynching the club as a whole. It's Whyte himself and his past they're having a go at. Which is why I'm a little disquietened that he's pulling rank and censoring everything about the club to the BBC. Including threatening to sack anyone who talks to the BBC, no matter what they're talking about. So if Ally McCoist accidentally gives an interview to Chick Young, Whyte will fire him. I just find it all a bit messy.
  15. He's scored 35 goals in 91 appearances for Norn Iron. Jelavic has scored 2 in 15 for Croatia. Jelavic is of course the better player, on form, but I don't think it's fair to dismiss Healy's career in comparison.
  16. He's not defending the club though, he's defending himself. The BBC haven't really attacked Rangers in all of this, their entire case has been Whyte.
  17. I find it worrying that so many people agree with your post given MacMillan didn't take these allegations at face value nor did he condemn Whyte. The truth is the BBC have made allegations and far too many instantly assume they're false. I'm not saying they're true, I'm just saying they're worrying - just like if someone who disliked me told me my chick was cheating on me and gave me some emails - it would concern me and I wouldn't immediately disbelieve them - I'd try to get both sides - evidence on both sides. I'm not taking either side here - too many people are.
  18. Actually they were pretty explicit in making the distinction between both tax cases. They said they couldn't understand why any businessman would want to take on someone else's tax burden. It doesn't happen apparently. They did not claim it was linked to anything he'd done in his career.
  19. I take a bit more seriously what the RSA says than certain other fan organisations. And I agree that the allegations are worrying. Especially with STV effectively agreeing with some of them.
  20. There were some serious allegations made in this documentary, pertaining to documents supposedly confirming some very negative things about Whyte's past. I think he has a case to answer, and STV agree with that despite being the more 'positive' spin albeit the interview they had with him was absolute garbage. I still don't agree the BBC are biased, I think they're just awful nowadays. Well, BBC Scotland anyway. In terms of their sports coverage. Am I worried - the truth is we know very little about Whyte's background, and most of us have had to take him on faith rather than evidence that he was the right man. I remain extremely disappointed with the summer signings given only 2 of them have actually been genuine successes and a bit perplexed by Whyte's claim that we spent in excess of 5M on players. Which we clearly didn't, even without the sale of Bougherra. Furthermore, the RSA also believe Whyte has a case to answer and that the allegations are disturbing. I'm not hanging him out to dry yet, but clearly there's more than a hint of grey with him and I've not seen any real evidence that the takeover left us in a better state than previous. The only good thing is we're not owned by the bank. But is who we're owned by now a better prospect?
  21. Stv were the same on the late bulletin though.
  22. I guess their consolation is having one of the world's best sides and winning the EPL year after year plus 'nearly' winning the CL.

    Easy quiz :)

PS I forgot Hemmings, so an extra bonus point for him
  24. Danny

    Easy quiz :)

You smart kids As for loans, they only count for incoming players, not outgoing ones. Technically McGregor was on loan at Dunfermline (and St Mirren?) but he's one of those under 'no previous club'.
  25. I made a little quiz - no googling. Most if not all are pretty easy and you should get them all but it's a bit of light relief given goings on right now. I'll name a bunch of clubs, and you have to say who from our current squad was signed from them - or who this was their previous club before us. Palermo Everton St Mirren Austria Vienna Wigan Ath Toronto FC Fulham Rapid Vienna Burnley Hearts Kilmarnock Sunderland Hibernian Almería St-Etienne Brisbane Roar rebro SK Arsenal Ipswich T Gueugnon Harstad Bonus points for naming the main 6 members of our current first team squad who have no previous club.
