Rangers Striker Nikica Jelavic Confirms Fenerbahce Offer
Danny replied to Ergatrude's topic in Rangers Chat
Jelavic isn't even a first pick for Croatia. They have about 8 top strikers and he's by no means guaranteed to start in any match. If we get a high bid in January, tbh I'd take it happily. -
I wouldn't say we jittered the second half - not even Barcelona will 100% dominate a game and never have to defend.
-
Yes, and in our previous match against the same side we totally struggled. This is a Scotland team who tends to struggle no matter who we play. But unfortunately there are fans who forget that and when we do play well, they just say the opposition was poor.

Rangers Striker Nikica Jelavic Confirms Fenerbahce Offer
Danny replied to Ergatrude's topic in Rangers Chat
So it wasn't Liverpool, it was Fenerbahce? Meh - his form this year has been patchy at best. Loved him by the end of last season, totally nonplussed about him this year. He just hasn't looked in the mood in pretty much any of our matches bar the OF. And no disrespect to Lafferty, but the fact he's outshone Jelavic up front tells you how much the Croat seems to have 'fallen' this year. And Naismith has outshone the pair of them. My point is Jelavic has clearly had his head turned, and it's affected his displays. He was dire preseason, and while he has 4 goals this year in the league (not exactly incredible and the same as Lafferty), his performances just haven't matched last year. -
Despite a lot of the negative comments here, I have to say this was one of the finest Scotland displays I've seen for years. We absolutely dominated and but for some inconsistent finishing we'd have romped it by far more than 1-0. If we can play like this against Spain who knows. And there is more than a chance the feeble Czechs will slip up on Lithuania.

Robert Rollie avoids jail term over Neil Lennon abuse
Danny replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Precedent? Couple of months ago some tim was charged with the same thing for abuse online against Diouf and Walter Smith. I don't know what the sentence was, if indeed he has appeared in court yet. -
The Czechs are a shadow of the side they used to be. We should have beaten them ourselves. Lithuania getting a draw or better is quite possible. Can't see us managing more than a draw against Spain who will probably put out their 'diddy' side, not that they actually have one.
-
We want the Czechs to lose, right? They're 2-0 down inside 25 minutes.
-
Levein is a Hearts man though. Dundee Utd were merely a team he managed.

Celtic fans abusing young children at Tynecastle
Danny replied to Super_Ally's topic in General Football Chat
This is why I hate football fans in general. Love the game, hate it when I see tits at matches acting like this. And like Gav says, from our support as much as any. -
Walter Smith linked with this.
-
Ok, first off I am going to be generous and forget Europe. Walter too had his Kaunas so there's precedence for us failing against teams on the continent we should beat. No, I mean domestically. If you look at the league, our record is 99% perfect. Our only dropped points were to Hearts on the opening day, and since then we've conceded only one genuine goal - Ally had a lot to live up to in the SPL, and I have to say, slowly but surely he's starting to earn my trust. The league cup was appalling, on the other hand, and with a strong team we lost to Falkirk youth. Everything was wrong that night. But the league is bread and butter - and I find myself slowly starting to believe in Ally now. It helps that a lot of players are having great seasons - Goian, Boca, Davis, Lafferty, Naismith - even Edu is starting to improve. And Wylde's come a long way. He's made a few decisions I find baffling - the Whittaker shambles remains his big gaffe. But so far, league wise, you really cannot complain. I just seriously hope we can scrape into the CL next season because 2 years without it would be a lot to stomach.

2 points... 1: Latest is some timmy legend is making excuses for Lennon's failures by saying he's being undermined by the Celtic board - isn't being given enough cash. Quite funny given Ally had the same problem with almost no money... 2: I heard some crazy rumour that Larsson recommended Bangura from AIK and Celtic signed the wrong one. Apparently there were 2 - Teteh and Mohamed - Teteh had 15 goals in 17 appearances, Mohamed only 13 in 32. For some reason it's being said the mediocre one they signed is indeed the one Larsson recommended. So quite why he recommended a mediocre player is beyond me. /end.

I've even seen him cross well with his right foot. *gasp*

He did nothing to impress me bar getting in good positions. Can't remember him doing much of note.

Rangers 1 - 0 Hibernian: Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Danny replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed Frankie, he's who I gave motm to in my summary in the match thread. Mo Edu was an honourable runner up, and Davis had a fine game. -
I think his crossing is criminally under rated by many and for me it's a myth to say he can't cross it. He has electric pace which itself is how he beats men - admittedly he isn't naturally a skillful winger who uses trickery to go past his man, but with pace like that you don't need to as long as the distribution to him uses him properly. If you want an effective attack from him, give him something to run onto, not something behind him. I like him, and would have him in every week.
-
I didn't hear that. What I did hear was him almost crying about Celtic saying 'they are missing players but even with what's out there, they should be doing better than this. Where's the FIRE in this team. WHERE IS IT!?'

Notice you ignored my wee point about goal tally Gav

I'm gonna be honest - if the Naisy incident had been in a non televised match, fuck all would have been made of it. I remember, for example, Charlie Adam stamping 2 players in 2 successive matches in non televised matches a season or two ago, and they didn't even get mentioned in match reports, never mind him being banned. The Naisy one was highlighted because it happened on Sky/ESPN broadcasted match. If anything happens in a high profile televised match involving a Celtic player, I'm sure it will also be stupidly blown out of proportion as well. Also, if it's a non OF player, no one will care. Apart from the team who's been on the receiving end.
-
I don't even care any more. We're 10 points clear and I'm pretty pleased about that
-
We're going round in circles. You have your stance and I have mine. I'm done with this debate - wasted too much time in the past talking about Kris Boyd and now being dragged into it again.
-
James feckin' Beattie! That is all
-
Really, so we score 25 goals a season less these days do we? I mean that's what you're saying. Rangers without Boyd score 25 less a season. Well we scored 88 last season and in 2008-2009, when he scored 27 goals, we scored...77! How does that fit your thinking? He had composure against the lesser teams - he flubbed his lines against bigger opposition far too many times, and scored only one goal in Europe. I don't know why you're comparing his composure against Miller when Miller scored a similar number, including several against Celtic. Nah, I'm just strictly not a member of the Kris Boyd fan club.
