McKay arrives in Scotland and is available for Utd match

Davis should be on the right of CM but I refuse to get remotely excited about this midfield until 2 of those players have proven themselves for us. The one positive is no Edu... -
Looks like, at this stage, a real bad problem this guy has with injuries. Only played about 10 games last season before injury, and now gets injured on his return. He's only young, but it's not great.

Pretty shocking hoax to come out with. I saw it in the Daily Mail I'm sure.

It's faster. Now the nonsense I see posted on here (by myself in particular) arrives on screen quicker. Thanks a bunch Barry.

Steed Malbranque has quit football to care for his son who has cancer. That's the story been doing the rounds in the press.

Scotland v Lithuania, Euro 2012 Group I qualifier

Crap game, just about scraped the win. Dare I say it, Whittaker actually played quite well. -
Already seems faster than recent months. So good job Barry!

I wish people did. But they can't help themselves. It's like a music act like Cher Lloyd or Jedward who are just ransacking music as we know it, yet are more popular for it despite their crimes. Dare I quote Cher Lloyd herself when she sang something like 'You can't stop thinking about me, talking about me, tweeting about me'. Awful song but the point is probably true.

Is he trying to be Orwellian do you think? Or is he just an idiot? Maybe a bit of both.

His tenure, then Eck's peaked with us hitting #16 in the FIFA rankings. Absolutely sensational. -
He will do whatever it takes to gather attention around himself, including defending that Thomson Hearts kid and blaming the Internet for his crimes. He just likes to get replies, get hits, get people to respond to him. And people always do, time and time again. As has been said in this thread, he is just a basic attention whore, one who left behind journalistic integrity long ago (if he ever had any) in favour of becoming the very worst parody of a gutter hack.

Then if he is 'claiming' to have spent in excess of £5M in the window just past (A porkie imo), then does that mean no signings in January?

I'd love Walter back in charge of Scotland. -
Scotland v Lithuania, Euro 2012 Group I qualifier

Apparently this has been the worst qualifying start we've had since 1998. Even Vogts and Burley were better. And yet what I see on the pitch isn't as horrific as under those previous regimes. -
Is this that Hernan Pacho or something? He came from nowhere, tried to add me on Facebook and somehow has a cult following. Despite his English being pretty abysmal.

I literally do not know what to expect from this match. This regime is inconsistent at best albeit a distinct improvement over the Burley shambles. At least I actually support Scotland again. -
The amount of rumours this summer was easily the most overcooked I've seen in my lifetime. And I grew up, as I'm sure many of us did, with the Sunday Mail's back page telling us of the next player we were linked to. This summer we must have been tied to at least 50 names - it was insane. And lasted right up till the last day when it almost became fact that we were signing some Greek dud called Gekas. Which, of course, was a load of bollocks in the end. The Internet is certainly in part to blame, it's the most influential media on the planet and it's easy to start a rumour.

The most technically gifted player I've seen in the SPL. And I include the big 3 in that illustrious list.

2 Mols memories stand out of me. In 2 consecutive matches he scored with brilliant volleys - I'm sure one of them was against Motherwell. Also one time in the CL Albertz powered a pass to him which was more like a shot. And he just killed and controlled it as if it had been rolled to him. Amazing player, crying shame about the injury.

Adam has history of stamping. Did it twice in 2 games at Ibrox which completely put me off him. I don't like his snide hatchet side.

That game was a life changing experience for me tbh. I remember so much about it - from how astonishingly well we played, to how many times we hit the woodwork, to GVB giving away the penalty. I remember Kahn saying no away side had ever come to the Olympic Stadium and dominated the way we did that night. Of course it will be remembered also for the demise of Mols, a tragic loss of a player who could have been our Larsson with ease. His technical ability was absolutely exquisite. But the life changing aspect was realising that there was no point in thinking about what ifs. What if that shot from Wallace had gone in. What if we'd got the draw we needed. No point. We didn't get it and never would have. Once something has happened, there was nothing else that could ever have happened. And that match gave me that philosophy.

Usual hard luck story as I'm used to now with Scotland. Happened in 2007 when Zambrotta dived over Hutton to earn a free kick, which led to a goal, which led to the tallies going through to Euro 2008 (albeit I bet they wish they hadn't). And here it happens exactly the same - a dive to scam a penalty. To think I used to like the Czech team. But yes, the referee was absolutely terrible.

We will play Atletico Madrid on September 15
Danny replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
If Sion broke the rules, this was the only outcome. Not that Celtic deserve it on any level of course. -
If Whyte said 5M a season, and says we've spent in excess of 5M this window (a complete lie imo), then that means we'll not be spending anything come January unless we sell players. And it has to be said, 5M a season is extremely poor anyway.
