Hearts fan case in Lennon attack.... NOT PROVEN
Danny replied to craig's topic in General Football Chat
Not quite sure how it's not proven when the guy was caught on camera assaulting him. -
Weeks, yes?

We're tight and penny pinching at times. Sometimes we'll actually put out a decent offer like the one for Juhasz, but all too often our bids are appalling.
-
If we're still in debt, what was the point of the takeover?
-
Not my words, but that of the BBC. In the story about Leicester's interest in Jelavic, the following paragraph is printed: Either the BBC are outright lying here or they know something I don't.

Rangers reject £6.5 million offer for Jelavic
Danny replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
It really boils down to whether Jelly is happy here now we're out of Europe. Which, he's partly to blame for, lest we forget. We do not want a situation like Spurs have with an unhappy player in Modric who wants a move and the club just won't sell. -
So, generally the consensus is 'naw'.
-
I guess it boils down to our desire for domestic success at the expense of enjoying the ride to get there.

I know it's a silly idea, but over the years he's been the one player at Timdome I haven't ever hated. And he can play. Is this is the daftest suggestion for a new signing I've ever made?
-
That's what I mean, the writers on here and other forums. And I'm sure there are others as well. They all come across as higher quality than Leggo's.

I'm feeling let down by this regime. When we got a new owner, in light of the threadbare squad, the only realistic option was serious investment to the tune of quite a damn few million quid. That simply has not happened and we've been left with a bunch of low cost players who may expand the squad size but haven't enhanced its quality much at all. We just haven't spent like we had to, and I feel slightly cheated.

It's not him I dislike, I don't have an objection to a bear making a blog at all. I just don't quite follow why his is made a big deal of compared to the others. When his blog is certainly no better than theirs. Is it because he wrote for the People or whoever it was he was employed by in the past.

Ok, I will give you the Britney thing, I recall that has been mentioned quite a few times.
-
Then I do wonder why I get slated for the same thing! Is this something new you're bringing in? It was generalisations before, now it's exaggerations. You seem to be shifting what you're on about for convenience sake. Frankie, you're a much more intelligent person than this post. I never said that, not even close to it. You've entirely misunderstood my point, which I can't quite fathom given your clear intellect. Again, you're better than this. I said I felt like the only one who praised him past tense. When he was getting pelters from almost everyone. I remember it clear as day, and if you trawl the archives you'll see this. I've barely ever seen any criticism of his blogs. Once, I do recall surprised replies to a blog thread saying 'not as good as he normally does' but that was about it. You're effectively calling me a liar here, and I find that slightly disquieting.
-
I repeat. If we matched the bid, how does that give us first refusal? If we'd beaten the bid, I could see the point. But matching it does not put us in first place. Or do I have a poor understanding of how business works?

If a number of users praise him, and almost no one criticises him, it's a fair generalisation. And I'd appreciate you qualifying your 'constant' accusation because I consider that pretty inaccurate as well.
-
Maybe because Blackburn were first. Matching their bid wouldn't put us in first place.

Plenty of bears write blogs and are on our side. But they write much better than he does. Why does this forum worship him so?
-
I didn't mean grammar, I meant the quality of his writing. It was and is extremely poor. Probably the worst blog I've seen.

Not quite sure what side of bed you fell out of, but you've wounded me deeply.

You could have the greatest squad in the world and if it's the wrong manager they won't perform.
-
That team which won us the league was running on absolute empty. It punched above its weight, inspired by Walter, and had an electric run in which won us the league in the end. But it needed a serious pep up - and it hasn't really had one.

A lot of folk have namedropped a comparison with PLG, but I've never really felt that. But the match against Aberdeen felt like a return to the days of Eck. A grotty win, playing very poorly, with an unglamorous squad with a few good players. For Dado see Jelavic. For Klos see McGregor. Ally wasn't the most thrilling appointment, and Eck certainly wasn't. The latter also struggled to sign quality, although when he had good money from the sale of Boumsong he bought the players who won us the league. But the standard of football was never very good - in fact it was a very up and down era - from the heights of the last 16 of the CL to the lows of watching Nuno Capucho come on at Old Trafford when we were 3-0 down or whatever the score was. The management staff also remind me of that time. Ally reminds me a little of Eck, and McDowall is a carbon copy of Andy Watson. I am not calling for Ally's head - although he has made some mistakes so far - a rookie manager always will. But he is under pressure to continue our SPL results (in light of the absence of much else to play for this season) if not form. Because while we can complain about the football our SPL record is 4 wins and a draw. That's not bad. See, I can be positive
-
I'd argue I'm the same. Realistic. Though as of yet I've not once called for the manager's head. In fact I've given the guy more support than some on here have. But I'm going to ruin that totally with my next thread, with something bursting with positivity that I know you'll love.
-
I thought we were good enough on paper, but I knew that if we couldn't beat them we didn't deserve to be in the CL at all. And as it's turned out the latter is true - and our European exploits have given us a real indication of the quality of our squad at European level.
