Latest rumour is that Gerrard is in for Solanke again and favourite to land him.
-
The problem with this is it can do absolutely no good for the club while having the potential to bring bad publicity we can well do without. Yes we were all young once but that doesn't change the fact that this is pointless and potentially detrimental in terms of the club.
-
I think we're all aware that the club is restricted by budget which makes the game tonight all the more crucial. The manager decided that his priority had to be building from the back and who around here would disagree with that after all the whining we did about the defence last season.

Rodgers claiming the yahoos are still favourites to go through. Might be forgetting the importance of an away goal and that they're likely to keep 11 men on the pitch this time round.

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Wigan Linked With Windass Wigan have emerged as contenders for Rangers attacker Josh Windass, who is also the subject of an approach from the Blues. The Latics previously made an unsuccessful bid for Windass, 24, the son of former Hull City star Dean, in December. Town were first reported to be ready to make a £2 million move for Windass yesterday with further reports in Scotland this morning claiming the Gers were weighing-up a Blues offer of around £1.2 million plus add-ons, with later suggestions that the clubs were moving closer to agreeing a deal. Speaking earlier today ahead of Thursday evening’s Europa League tie against Slovenian side Maribor, manager Steven Gerrard admitted that his club might be forced to sell the likes of Windass and James Tavernier, the Ibrox club having turned down a West Brom bid for the full-back. “But we’ll have to deal with it and face that if and when it happens. At the moment I’m looking at my phone and hoping [Rangers director of football] Mark Allen doesn’t phone. “We just need to focus on the game and prepare the team the best we can for another difficult test. “But I can’t sit here and say we won’t be affected in the next 24 hours. We might be. I’ve heard nothing in terms of bids, but that may change in the coming hours. If it does, we’ll have to wait and see.” While there is certainly Blues interest in Windass it remains to be seen whether they would look to progress matters unless another attacking player - presumably long-time Bolton Wanderers target Joe Garner - were to move on with rapidly diminishing funds still required for another central defender. Elsewhere, Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan’s move to Aston Villa looks to have been hijacked by Fulham, meaning the Midlanders will be looking for another left-sided full-back on deadline day. Town’s Jonas Knudsen had been linked with Villa, while Middlesbrough - who were also chasing Bryan - and Stoke are also believed to be interested. Earlier this afternoon, the Blues were linked with a loan move for Rangers left-back Declan John along with Swansea, presumably a potential replacement for the Danish international should he move on. https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/34176 -
But in this instance Gerrard will actually know him and have seen him play outside youtube.

The yahoos have twice the total market value of AEK on transfermarkt. No avenue of excuse claiming financial disparity when the disparity is in their favour. I really think we may be able to take them. The media were drooling over the 'destruction' of Livingston on Saturday but all I thought was really? A 3-1 win against a newly promoted side with a new young manager and one of those goals a penalty? Doesn't impress me much.

Athens get an away goal to draw level. Boohoo.

I think it's fair to say that goals aside we did indeed blow them away with 10 men and missing our only recognised striker. I feel we would have netted at least 3 if they had let us keep 11 men on the pitch but again that wasn't going to happen. Red card, rescinded, again. I don't see Steven Gerrard as the type to exaggerate just to falsely bum up his team. When he says we were a class above them even with 10 men he without any bias genuinely meant it and to me it was obvious for all to see we were. And I think it has to be taken into consideration that aside from being down to 10 men and having no recognised main striker on the pitch we still haven't fielded what's likely to evolve into our first 11. We're going to continue getting better while they already are what they are going to be all season.

It's extremely troubling that no one other than us seems to see a problem here. We played 4 Euro ties with no issues, no post game heated discussion over contentious decisions. Then we play one SPL game featuring a contentious red card (later rescinded) and overall littered with contentious decisions. What gives indeed.

He was the one who put Ryan Jack out for the season.

Steven Gerrard is not slowing down after securing Rangers’ 11th signing of the summer in Borna Barisic, according to Krupa president Drasko Ilic. He claims that he has received a bid from Rangers for Elvir Koljic, after the Bosnian striker made a red-hot start to the season with five goals in just three league games. https://thisisfutbol.com/2018/08/blogs/rangers-make-bid-for-striker-elvir-koljic/ -

Rangers weigh up £1.2m bid from Ipswich for Josh Windass -
I think we all know by now that for some baffling reason we're dealing with someone who appears to verge on wanting us to be shite. When do you ever see him with anything to say when we get a good result? Never to my knowledge but is like a pig in slop when we have a stinker. Not a single post from him about our endeavours on Sunday but all over this thread instead with nothing but the usual endless and often misguided negativity. Presumably because though the 3 points eluded us on Sunday it was still a commanding performance against a traditionally major rival while we played with 10 men for almost the entire match. Look for him to disappear until there is a bad result to gloat over speaking of which I'm now putting him on ignore because I don't need that after a bad result. I can get that from the yahoos.

Must have been a historic sand castle of cultural significance given the amount of frothing it's getting on yahoo, hubz, sheep forums.

I know, I didn't think for a moment that you were and I too simply went off with some thoughts of my own on how this squad is developing and what the immediate future may hold. Exciting times that will be giving the haters headaches trying to form new conspiracy theories while predicting the next admin that will never come. I can see the sheep drifting towards that type of mentality. Despite stealing a point in the dying minutes Sunday was indisputably still a humiliation for them especially so after they thought they were a formidable outfit due to their exploits against Burnley. They were never in it against our 10 men. -

I don't have any ideas either i'm simply judging this board as Rangers men who would do nothing that could be detrimental to the future of the club. There are no doubt many background activities we know nothing about including mention today of a 'mysterious benefactor' But putting all that aside it looks to me like they're going all out in an attempt to make the Europa group stages which on it's own could very well pay for this cash splash. And ahead of that i'm now beginning to think we really could give the yahoos a run for their money to take the CL spot next season and that would more than pay for this cash splash. As already mentioned the board wont be banking on that and would do nothing to put the club in jeopardy but this is turning into a formidable outfit that all things being equal can be expected to blow most SPL opposition out of the water. The 'second best team in Scotland' just discovered that even against just 10 men but were still miffed to be disrespected apparently which I find absurd. I don't give the proverbial flying what they have done last season or the season before that etc. That's history what matters is now. I don't see them showing us any respect for a world record title haul so why would I respect them for past records. -

Leave that to the yahoos etc to froth over. I'm confident the board aren't acting irrationally. -

One translation I saw said he was going to a "celebrity club" and through the poor translation it looks like the celebrity part refers to Gerrard. But if it comes to pass and he can maintain his stats another excellent young signing. I can't remember us ever having such a young team.
