  1. Typical, so much for being ready for the season opener. Hopefully McCulloch can hold the fort til then.
  2. This is what happens when so many lies go unchallenged. Dignified silence has failed spectacularly imo.
  3. Been away for a few days. Will take the Jambos. Fraser is usually interested too.
  4. I wrote this last weekend and posted in the writer's forum, but with Frankie busy the rest were too lazy to do anything with it. Perhaps the timing of this is not so great now, but I wrote it so it's getting posted.
  5. From this weekend; 4 v 4 And earlier pre-season results: 4.5 v 3.5 SPL wins 8.5 to 7.5. :spl: Perhaps our league is not as backward as some think.
  6. Printed in the on line version of the Manchester Evening News. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co....ze=25#comments
  7. Only we could get negative press from defending ourselves from football hooligans.
  8. From what i've read sounds like Pompey casuals instigated it attacking a pub full of Rangers fans.
  9. I fecking hope they have. Accident waiting to happen. Has had some good performances at times. But overall is not a very good player who seems to struggle with disciplinary problems. Guess that wont be a problem once he's playing in green and white though.
  10. As ever with the SFA the word shambles springs to mind.
  11. Didn't expect the post to necessarily meet with approval. Currently reading a book regarding the formation of a Football Assoaciation on Robben Island during apartheid. For those unaware this is where black "political" prisoners like Mandela were incarcerated during apartheid. Anyway, in reading this book there was a lot made of the sporting values and integrity with which the league was formed and intended to be run by. Of course all sporting competition has moved on, in this instance, not necessarily for the better and many true sporting values have been eroded from elite competition. You still see it in some instances with golfers calling shots on themselves or snooker players calling fouls against themself. Are many cricketers honest enough to call themselves out now? I guess it all comes down to money. Too much at stake. Was a "naive" post by myself of romantic ideals that have largely left modern sport. I made a post regarding this in lounge I think and how efficient they are in rugby. Will see if I can find it. Edit: That was easy: http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=12073&highlight=rugby
  12. There's a poster on FF who often posts these lists. Fuck knows where he gets them. I don't often bother with them as I usually know what's what. I'll try and remember to re-post info here when it's relevant to us (and probably the Tims).
  13. The laws of a game are largely reliant on sportsmanship of the member clubs and their players and employees. Unfortunately the Tims seem to be particularly deficient in this area and highlights this "flaw". If they had any integrity or sportsmanship it would not be such an issue. Only appeal if you genuinely feel you have a case, not just manipulating the laws for your own benefit.
  14. Cheers for the official confirmation Shroomz. Would be handy for someone to keep an eye on this throughout the season so we don't need to rely on the often innacurate information of our media.
  15. Who does the "suprise" refer to? Wilson or the fans? And finally we find out why he wasn't in Germany. Slight strain. Could they not have posted that a few weeks ago!!!
  16. Read the first 5 pages. Got bored of claim and counter claim. A lot of numpties on either side it seems. Without getting into the bias of our press reporting that is absolutely sickening that somone could do that to a young kid.
  17. Never read the story btw, which host of top European clubs did they "beat" to his signing this time?
  18. You'd have kept him would you?
  19. True. Probably struggle for a regular game anyway. You watching their game? Thought I'd just listen to ours, if I have their's on to watch as well I wouldn't be able to concentrate fully on our match.
  20. Killen has scored a couple this pre-season. Still don't think he's anything to worry about though.
  21. 1-0 Barry. Godo warm up for playing a EPL team in the CL qualifiers.
  22. Could have done with him to keep out Barry today.
  23. Ha ha. True I guess.
  24. Masons? Don't know anything about that. Had family members in the lodge, but know nothing about that either.
