One of those, as Coisty said post-match, where it's early days and they need the swelling to go down before assessing it.

Maintaining his 100% record as captain.

Read elsewhere it is 112 starts. Simplay astounding. (can anyone confirm that?)

I nearly took Miller, but thought no he wont start. Really fancied 3-0 and thought one of the centrebacks might get one at a set peice. You were nearly there too. Not too bad at this prediction malarky.

In 146 games, a fair number of which will be as sub no doubt. Good game from the big man too. Hard work and great run helped make the first. Grab another half dozen to help us to the title.

Was sitting here thinking do we have any central midfielders left. Davis and Edu. Was wondering about recalling Adam and Furman as we literally have no one else. Trying to think could any of the youths step up. Then I remembered Hemdani. Could the Algerian come back from the cold like Velicka and Smith?

Add Mendes to my list of concerns.

Rangers shirt hanging up behind Helen and the other bloke. Is it just for the Cup Semi Final or is it usually there?

Defender given 10 match ban for verbal abuse to officials

That's what I was wondering gav. Giving a grounded opponent a shoe-ing was ok, it was the nasty words he shouted at the ref? -
Cup Semi Final Issue. Will we make it and how? What do you say? 3-0 Rangers. Boyd, Velicka, Weir.

Not being rude Craig. Have meant to reply to this. Just not sure what I want to say.

Actually £12k was the figure I heard. Was just too lazy in my post as Broadfoot was asking for 10k to be around the same as other guys like Whittaker and I wasn't going to quibble over 2k in 10.

Sorry Craig, just noticed your response now. Cammy will make a better job of it anyway.

Last Transfer you were genuinley excited about ?

Sorry for having killed your thread DJBlue. -
I honestly don't care if we never play well again if it meant we won the league every year. :box:

Fair point and I wasn't just targeting you. Think I was equally as guilty. You are quite right though, people are maybe thinking of players who were exciting to watch rather than an exciting signing at the momment of their purchase. -
Is Harley on this?

Was reading through a betting tips website* and read we have scored in the first 10minutes in 4 of our last 5. Changed days. Was it not during the first half of this season where we'd only scored about once in the first 20 odd minutes? Perhaps with recent results it shows the importance of beginning with a high-tempo, getting the early goals, denting opposition confidence (or certainly nto letting them grow in confidence by starting slow). Walter should bear this in mind for his last 7 team talks. *I wouldn't really recommend it by the way, they just go chasing the silly odds and make a few daft selections, but thanks to the "throw enough shite and some of it will stick" appraoch to betting they get a few up.

On form our midfield should destroy their's. Do any of their squad have the EPL pedigree of Mendes and Davis? But those two, who should be running amok in SCotland, have been disappointing for months. I take your point though. Their midfield is crap. I guess I was just thinking about Rangers and not the opposition looking ahead to that game. Hopefully Mendes and Davis in particular can rediscover their talents.

That's a worrying point I hadn't even considered.

True. I don't know what his demands were, but it is rumoured he's on £3k/week and requesting £10k. Although as I say unsure on the truth of this. Supposedly though, that would put him in line with the likes of Whittaker whom he had been performing better than. How many people in your mum's area are on £3k a week (That's just his wage to, sure there's bonuses and other extras) or more? He was on a modest wage by footballers standards. Not in the real world.

Who really went on to make a big impact. Kinda like the opposite of DJBlue72's thread. Early entries are David Weir from BD and Boogie by AlanMidd. Anymore?

I know we cannot afford to look past the cup Semi final nor the first post split fixture with Hearts, but with the importance of the league title this year and the winner of the final Old Firm likely to go on and secure the title I am really concerned about the midfield. In goals Alexander or McGregor are decent keepers. As long as Boogie is fit we should be solid at the back with Weir his partner and fullbacks from Dailly, Broadfoot, Whittaker and Papac. Upfront Lafferty could be back, Velicka has found a goalscoring touch, Boyd has been doing it most the season and Miller should be fit again. In midfield however, Davis has not played well in a long time. Mendes is hot and cold. The odd nice flick or pass cannot mask a mostly ineffective and anonymous 90-minutes. Edu has filled in with Fergie suspended then McCulloch injured. Over the past few games he has been our best midfielder. But he had only spent about a year as a pro in the MLS prior to coming to Ibrox and I would not be confident if he was our biggest performer going into the final Old Firm. He lacks the experience for such a tempestuous game. Winning the midfield battle would allow us to dominate possession, dominate the match and have the greatest chance of victory if the strikers do their bit. Left mid barely merits a mention. We all know we just cannot fill this position. Smith adds a bit of solidity as a full back out of position. But without a truly attack minded player we cannot exploit the weakness that is Hinkel. However with our central 2 potentially vulnerable a more solid player might be a good tactical decision. Unless of course we go for the negative 4-5-1 (I know it can be positive, just not the way we do it ). Fleck has done no worse than any other out there. But would it be a risk playing such a young lad in an enormous fixture? Beasley does not impress me at all. His strength is supposed to be his pace, but he never or rarely attacks his fullback. Most the other's who have played there have done so out of position and to limited success. The midfield battle in that game could be huge and I'm not afraid to admit that I worry about our midfield without the option of Ferguson's experience, class and ball retention. (Again, I know some might bring up stats about wins without him, however they don't take into account the hundreds of other variables). Hopefully Edu can continue his fine form. Mendes can replicate the performance of the 4-2 game, Davis can play like the seaoned Premiership and International footballer he is and whoever plays left can emulate his colleagues.

Last Transfer you were genuinley excited about ?
Super_Ally replied to DJBlue72's topic in Rangers Chat
Last signing you were genuinely excited about. And we're all telling each other that we are wrong because there wasn;t a collective exctiment. We all need to go back and read the thread. UCF, I didn;t even think of Fergie as a signing for some reason. But thinking about it now, that would be my answer too. Interviewed by STV outside the Rangers shop on Sauchiehall street the day he re-signed. Perhaps someone should start another thread that's kind of a polar opposite. The signing you were least impressed by who completely changed your view with their contribution. -
I wouldn't rule out a Barry Ferguson comeback yet

Is McCoist going to be manager next year then?
