  1. Played Gretna but I don't remember the result. Edit: Ian just beat me too it.
  2. I've read that a lot. Yet recently I don't see much evidence of it. Yesterday we had McGregor, Webster and Naismith with lots of first team football (not necessarily at Rangers) and then Fleck with some experience. Maybe a few more. They had very few with first team experience as far as I remember.
  3. Quite. Lets hope they show a bit of common sense. I don't really see how a 50:50 split is the fairest option anway? The loyal Rangers fans who keep Scottish football afloat all year every year have less of chance of getting to the Cup Final, whilst the Falkirk "fans" who haven't been to a game all year are virtually guaranteed a ticket if they want one.
  4. This may have been on before but good time to post again [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mmje8ZiYn18]YouTube - Rangers song. Boydy[/ame]
  5. Do you want to take the Old Firm? I did the 0-1 game and the CIS Final. Unless there's any problems with this.
  6. Shall we take the first 6 names to put themselves forward? Not trying to take over here, just know Frankie (who has dealt with this recently) has more important things on his mind. Cammy. Me. 4 more guys?
  7. Personally 24 seems a little old to me, though unsure if their is a hard and fast rule. Think 23 year olds have won "official" Young player awards, so cut off around there. Again personally I tend to look at guys 21 and below but would not discount guys upto 23. Jon's in charge of the awards so will set you straight. For point B I would guess that anything occurring in domestic Scottish football would be eligible, but again best wait for Jon (or Frankie/Craig/Bmck) to confirm.
  8. Do Cammy/Craig or someone else want to make up a schedule for the remaining fixtures. Are there any budding writers who haven't been given the opportunity to display their talents? Or are there already names down from earlier in the thread who are due a turn?
  9. Not enough width.
  10. A guy on FF saying he has a source inside Old Trafford that a deal to take Possebon on loan for a year is nearly completed.
  11. Lol, didn't really look at what you'd quoted.
  12. Not necessarily. Hull are doing their utmost to get relegated. Only about 3 points ahead of Newcastle and equally difficult to see where Hull might get point. Hull have: An away fixture up next (forget who) Stoke at home. But Hull are that bad it might not be any more than a point Manu on the last day. And another away fixture (I think) between Stoke and Man U. It is very difficult to see Hull getting a result in any of their fixtures aside from maybe the home game with stoke.
  13. Did they buy him permanently or is he still on a loan from Birmingham (I believe).
  14. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW7eq8RQQ-M]YouTube - No goals yet- Soccer Saturday 25/4/09[/ame]
  15. Seems its much like up here, a wee purple patch at some point in the season is all that's required.
  16. Wasn't Rooney an nomination for POTY? But can't get in team of the year?
  17. Despite the fact it was only one half against St Mirren I would have to agree with your views. Quite a number of fans were impressed with the way Edu and Davis seemed to compliment each other in the middle. The problem is Smith already has his ideas about players. Davis only played centrally as a last resort and due to lack of options in the match day squad due to unforeseen circumstances. Davis has been hung out to day by Smith at right mid really due to a lack of quality options. The fact that a badly faltering Davis is our only option at right mid says it all. Novo may be asked to do a job there now, if Mendes is out, which may prove to our benefit for the right hand side position. Davis and Edu could then become the centre mid partnership. Unfortunately I foresee Smith returning Davis to the right and bringing in Dailly or McCulloch to play in the centre with Edu.
  18. Taken from http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A50477367 Thought you guys might be interested to see this.
  19. A shame for Boydie. Obviously can't compete with the international experience and quality of your Iwelumo's and Fletcher's but experience in a B international might have seen him get his chance to make the step up to Burley's full squad.
  20. Yeh, most people were impressed with the way Edu and Davis complimented each other. Davis has only been forced to play right due to us having the same problem on that flank as we do on the left. Trouble is he hasn't been an adequate stop-gap out there. He's been poor for the most part. Bring him in one place and give someone else a shot out right.
  21. Not sure Weir or Smith were as bad as Dailly. He was truly horrible today. Hopefully Sasa wont miss anymore games.
  22. No your quite right. Started writing about one thing and got sidetracked by what I thought was a better idea. Agree about Edu. Mom today.
  23. Started writing a bit about our overall form since he took over. Then decided it was the striker's form that was the real story but couldn't be arsed to edit it all. It's not really so much about Weir but the reaction since the international fall out and the positive effect that has had on various aspects of our game; results, Boyd's performances overall, edu, the striker's all getting goals. Boozegate/Weir getting the captaincy, since then there's been noticeable improvements within the squad. Basically was just reviewing the recent fixtures, taking Weir's reign as captain as my arbitrary starting point and saying the strikers are hitting (goal)scoring form at the right time.
  24. Saw this elsewhere, didn't notice it during the game.
  25. Is looking pretty promising during Weir's reign as captain. Under the veteran defender we have gone on a 5 game run of victories, since Fergie last captained the side against Hearts in a 2-2 draw, including today's victory that put us into the Scottish Cup Final. The run of results being: The strikers are firing well. 5 goals in 5 games for Boyd. The Boyd, Velicka partnership in the 3 games they have started together has produced 6 goals. Miller back fit again is among the goals too.
