The evening times have produced more interesting stats:
-
Amazingly not looked at the coupon for this week as had awful shite luck recently. Back to the 1 team out 4/5/6/7 busting me. Anyone got a line on tomorrow?
-
The response is shocking. But it is only really relevant if there is actually a market for tourists wanting to take advantage of this and not just imaginary one's in some guys head.
-
Had no idea about the first point. Just assumed that due to likely lower average wage compared to cost of living, football tickets might be a seldom realised luxury. However will bow to your superior knowledge. That however supports your argument not mine, so don't know where that leave me. As to the second point I would be highly suprised if the t.v. sponsorship and other commercial revenues were not far higher for Porto than us.
-
I'm not saying you don't. But I don't think saying oh the football isn't nice anymore, the results aren't as good, i'm keeping my money in my pocket is the way forward either. Though of course blindly putting money in isn;t right either. Also Porto's tickets are E15 you say? How did the exchange rate compare there. What's supply and demand like? How do average wages and cost of living compare? And what was Porto's income like from other sources, mainly t.v.? Too easy just to look at their ticket prices and say ours should be less. We no doubt pay more for everything than they do not just football. As I say though, making a lot of income from other avenues not open to us, such as t.v. will likely influence ticket prices. I remember Pete was at a Hoffenheim game recently, I think, and will be able to confirm but are Bundesliga tickets not pretty cheap comparatively?

Although Kiev were excellent in disposing of PSG, if it was one or the other i'd prefer to see the Hamburg tie.
-
It's maybe the way I phrased it. However, the "product" is poor at the minute. So you (quite rightly) think the cost should go down. When the cost goes down, we have less money to spend, so the product likely gets worse. As such your new lower ticket cost is no longer paying for as high a quality product. So the price should go down, according to your logic (which I gues really is correct). So we have less money and can't afford as high a quality a player. I'm sure you see where this is going. Either you support your club and accept the good times with the bad (as you undoubtedly do). Or you behave like a customer. There must be some other answer, but I don't see it.
-
Yes it's upto Murray to maximise revenue streams. But you say you want to see better football on the one hand and want to pay less for it on the other hand. Surely you must see the two are unlikely to go hand in hand. Think it's a seperate point to Murray's mismanagement (although obviously the two can impact on each other).
-
No problem with slagging Barry. His actions deserve it. Even though Derek can be a dick I was just pointing out you can't slag him for doing his job. Discussing Rangers on RTV and in the media, ( he possibly only spoke directly to RTV and the papers lifted his qutoes anyway).
-
To the first paragraph: Supply and demand. And if you want to pay less, we make less profit. The team likely gets weaker and you complain that you're getting even less value for money. Vicious circle.
-
Boyd can't afford to let someone else take the penalties if he's going to reach the 40 or 50 goals Mendes is expecting of him in our remaining 7/8 games.
-
Excellent post Calscot.
-
From reading through that have they not just taken his comments from RTV? With whom he no doubt has a contract to honour, so he has to talk. He can't sit on the show in silence. I might be wrong but I don't think he's gone seeking publicity but rather is responding to questions asked of him by the media. I don't understand this culture of lynching people for speaking in the media. Is it a phenomenon of the internet age. People are contacted by the media and have an opportunity to give their side. They'd be foolish not to and if they didn't give the press something they'd just write whatever they want to make them look bad.

Could our title challenge depend on 'Well v Saints
Super_Ally replied to Tannochsidebear's topic in Rangers Chat
We our next 8 and secure the double. -
I wouldn't be risking Miller for a start right away. Depending on other options he could maybe make the bench with Novo as attacking options. I hope Smith keeps his place. I think he deserves too. Not really fussed either way over Whittaker/Papac, Dailly/Whittaker for the fullbacks.

Touched on a similar subject here though your peice seems easier to read and digest. Us beating Hibs might in some way be to our detriment. As although 'Well making the top 6 would send Celtic to Tynecastle again it would also virtually guarantee Celtic 3 points from the Motherwell game. And as I showed in the stats I found, with the likely fixtures if Motherwell make it, Celtic gained more points from the same set of fixtures earlier this season than we did. The reverse is true if Hibs were to make it. That might count for nought when it comes down to playing these matches for the second time this year. But it does give you an indication of who has the advantage going into the post-split fixtures. -
Back in training, probably just light jogging. Good to see though.
-
Thought this was gonna be him complaining about the way the pos-split fixtures panned out meaning Brown was suspended.

Lol, he was seeing some blonde model or other wasn't he?

It's not really like the Timmy love in, because if anything (well with Hamburg if not Chelsea) it is the other team promoting the friendship. I too would like to go to a Hamburg game some day. Saw Rangers in Barcelona, watched Real - Almeria the other month and decided i'd like to go to more foreign grounds. Is Hamburg one of the German grounds with a standing section though. The rangers connection, standing for the game and having a beer whilst watching some quality Bundesliga action. Sounds like a great weekend.
-
It's the difference between a fan(atic) and a customer. Easter Road is one of the away grounds i've been to. Not been to them all like you no doubt have. And the abiding memory is of a plod who was about 8 foot tall. All the Rangers fans around the stadium and surrounding area drinking in the street and clogging up the city, but generally being left alone as long as we weren't causing any trouble. The police were walking around in pairs, probably for their own good. Apart from this man giant stood on the corner of a street alone. Was about 2001/02 or 02/03 and when Lovenkrands scores he goes wheeling off towards the fans and you can see my wee brother on the season review dvd. (Apologies for the random unrelated story)
-
Didn't sound like he was joking about voting for Aguiar. Are the Daily Record suggesting that as Rangers players can't vote for team mates they could only possibly vote for a tim? Interesting take from a team mate and top quality professional though. Wonder how the Boyd bashers will receive this?
-
That's brilliant Cammy. Never had a second team before, but hopefully they can win the Bundesliga as their up there with Wolfsburg.
-
Knew the rules at the start of the season. Did someone not mention we lost KT in similar circumstances before or is my memory playing tricks.
-
Hopefully.
