As have some of our worst St Mirren. I hope you realise the outright stupidity of picking two games to suit your arguement at the expense of all others and try and construct a coherent, logical argument next time. Also if you agree with Gribz that he is not a natural finished I am dumbfounded. Even his most ardent of critics would agree he is a natural finisher.

We all know what pace and direct play can do to the Celtic backline. Would be criminal not to play him imo.
-
Seems to have come through unscathed according to Ian's thread.
-
No injuries, good performance and morale boosting results. Lets hope the guys who play carry that into the OF.

For someone who has already won league title(s) elsewhere that's good to hear. He's saying the right things. If his feelings are genuine though and matched by his team mates they should have the mentality to match to the top of the league as we definitely have the quality within our ranks.

I've seen him play. Samaras is not better than any of the strikers at our club!

I know you're only winding me up. But frankly I don't care too much what he did at Killie. His record against Celtic for Rangers, without incompetent officials would be 2 in 4(1). And in fact possibly higher. THe game he had a goal ruled out he was also clean through on several occasions before wrongly being pulled back before we could see the outcome. Alan Midd - re-read my entire sentence. It was a joke in any case. But it was form striker. He scored 2 in the bounce game v Hamilton. Miller, Lafferty, Naismith etc didn't score v them or Milan.
-
As would the midfield tbh.

Good for you Pete. Would love to go to a big Scotland game.

Just turned it on on iplayer on bbc to see Lafferty coming off after 55mins. Any idea how he played. 2-0 by the way.
-
2 separate points. 1. His OF record. 2. Recent form. Though I guess the smilie shows you know my second point was a wee joke.

Boyd's record against Celtic isn't actually that bad is it. 1 goal in 4 starts and a sub appearance. However he had one wrongly ruled out for offside a while back. That would be a record of about 1 in 2. Whislt not as high as his usual scoring exploits it's stands to reason that there are less chances against better opposition and hence less goals. A strike rate of 1 in 2 is generally considered a decent record for an international class striker. He is the form striker too, only forward to score in the last 2 games; AC Milan and Hamilton. People were quick to call Lafferty the form striker when Boyd had one bad game and Kyle scored against United!!!
-
That cost us a point in the last one. Boogie would be a huge miss for me.

Quite agree Norris. When we took Whittaker from Hibs he was playing like Hutton did before he left. By which I mean in a similar style before people take offence.
-
So do some of the fans.
-
Just Bougherra I believe.
-
No he didn't. 2 goals in a bounce game against Hamilton wont stop Walter from playing it safe. 4-5-1 with Lafferty up front and Miller supporting from wide. Or those two in a 4-4-2. Smith wouldn't even consider an attacking line up with our most dangerous forward unfortunately.

Out of interest how many of the Stadia which are able to host a European final have never been nominated?
-
True, the fact that Walter signed Miller puts a question mark over his ability to spot a player. I don't agree Miller is the standard of player we can attract. A fit Novo or Naismith is a better option and I'm sure we could attract players with Miller's attitude but greater ability.

Yeh sorry, probably shouldn't have been so short with my answer. My comment was infact aimed at the SFA.
-
With Lafferty likely to play the lone striker on Sunday and with the fact that by the time that game comes around it will have been a fortnight between competitive games for Rangers, it should be of benefit to have Kyle getting some game time and match sharpness. Hopefully it goes ahead.
-
No thanks. Don't think he's better than what we have, certainly not at 28.
-
I'm inclined slightly to agree with MF on the Miller issue. But I guess it's because not only have we signed an ex-Celt, but a crap ex-celt. Crap at us. Crap at Wolves Crap at Celtic Crap at Derby Mostly crap at Scotland Crap again here after an initial purple patch. I would also be quite excited by Smith partnering Boyd and Naismith as his OF suprise. He always has one and a previously succesful partnerhip of goals and pace, trickery and goals would be my choice. Ps. Noticed in the McCulloch interview that Boyd has started more games this year and a win this weekend woudl take us top. Useful to bear in mind for the arguement we have over Boyd and how it's his "sole responsibility we have not won a title in his time".

Opportunity to win a free book about the man who carried on Souness work in securing niar. Cammy's review made it sound quite appealing. I would've thought there would have been a lot of interest in this.
